So I’ve been thinking about these invisible followers that people have been getting lately. What if the people behind all the porn bots figured out that everyone was insta-blocking them, so they figured out a way to follow people without being seen? That way, we can’t block them anymore, and they can continue to manipulate search algorithms unopposed. 

Either that, or Tumblr’s user-base has shrunk so much that it has become a literal ghost town, complete with actual ghosts.

The Packers had a couple of bad seasons, but don't worry! The world's cutest athlete, Super A.I. Kizuna Ai is here to make sure 2019 is the best season ever! Either that, or she'll run screaming into the wrong endzone and crash head-first into the goalpost. Definitely one of the two.

The bots STILL rule Tumblr, but does Staff even care?

I swear, I spend more time on this site flagging and blocking bots than I spend browsing content. I thought that the porn ban would’ve at least curbed these obnoxious bots, but they only seem to have gotten more ubiquitous as of late. And many of them still contain “banned” content. So Tumblr is going around, flagging legitimate 18+ users, as well as mistakenly flagging perfectly harmless content. All the while ignoring the ACTUAL problem.

For years, legitimate users have been clamoring for @staff to do something about the rampant spammer/bot problem, but they’ve just flat-out ignored us. Everything they’ve done has only hamstrung legitimate users, whereas bots and spammers are allowed to run roughshod over the platform. I’d like to continue begging Tumblr to at least TRY to fix the problem, but what’s the point? If they haven’t listened to us yet, then why bother hoping they’ll listen to us now?

at this point I think all of Tumblr’s staff needs to just be collectively fired and this site should scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up because holy shit

staff: *breaks the search function*

users: “Ban. The. Porn. Bots.”

staff: *tags suddenly stop working*

users: “Please just ban the fucking bots.”

staff: *fucks up recommendations entirely*

*app ends up being taken off the store for not banning the bots*

users: “all we ask is that you ban the bots. how fucking hard is this?”

staff, in all it’s benevolent wisdom: *starts randomly just deleting NSFW blogs left and right*

I don’t have the slightest idea how to code but at this point I’m 95% *I* could do better.
