a supercut of 18 year old ilia only getting critical questions and no congratulations after winning his first nationals in 2023, and jason defending him with his LIFE.

this is an unusual press conference, bizarre even. all three of them up there got 177 in the free skate, and ilia would have won outright over torgs if not for the fact that he received a time violation deduction. and yet he's the only one who receives zero positive or congratulatory comments from the journalists.

Will Smith being n6 on this NHL forwards list for the most impactful relative to their teammates over the past three seasons, while being a NHL player just for the past two years and with only players with 100+ games played more than him above him is really impressive

Hope this type of stats helps people understand how he IS the most valuable player alongside Macklin for the sharks franchise if they want to create a strong and competitive rebuild team, there is no reason on earth, heaven and hell that he could be considered as a bargaining chip for other players, there's no way grier would ever consider something like for the future of the sharks if he wants for his team to be successful

seeing mack play hockey makes it so easy for us to say that he is the future of the franchise (don't get me wrong he obviously is) but the team wouldn't have had the season they had this year without will smith on macklin wing.

before your first NHL game , SJS had 1st overall pick and drafted Macklin Celebrini, so no chance for you to be 1C

ok you can be 2C but then SJS had 2nd pick and you needed to change position from C to a winger

ok you can be a first line winger but then SJS have once again have 2nd pick and most probably will drat a new winger so you will need to fight for this position, especially as the head coach is not your biggest fan

You were injured, missed 13 games and still scored 59 points (in 69 games) in your second year but everyone points out the difference between you and Mack or that your results are only this good thanks to Mack

other players from your draft like Adam Fantilli scored 59 points in 82 games and are still considered a top / star player but you’re just ok

general opinion you are not a good as Mack (or even as your other teammates) but hey you’re very good at softball and you will participate in Stanley Pup
