Do you know something I realised, when the topic of people going missing from the party came up, they only mentioned Shelby and Drift, no mention of Scott at all (at least from the POV’s I saw, I’m a Scott main who then went hopping around practically everyone after he finished for the night, and I’m only working with the tid bits I picked up).

It’s probably because the people he’s closest to are either M.I.A. themselves or went with him. But still, with how he’s been helping some of them with rituals and being overall helpful, you’d think someone else would notice.

You know something I’d like? Combo spells! If you’ve ever watched Fairy Tail then you know what a unison raid is. For those who haven’t, it’s basically when two mages combine their magic into a more powerful spell.

Now, you know that book about the Fourfold Guard and how it talks about how they could combine there magics? I’d love to be able to see everyone coming up with new combos of their spells! Especially with Scott, Drift and Shelby going off into the wilderness to train for a bit, now’s a perfect time to create some combo spells!

This is most likely a hot take, but I’m sharing it because I’m slightly curious to see if anyone else shares this opinion.

I personally don’t think that repeat winners should get more than one celestial symbol. This is mostly because of how I’ve always interpreted them throughout the series ;w;

To me personally, the celestial symbols weren’t really something that is awarded for winning per se. Well that’s kind of a weird way to put it, because it kind of is, and I don’t actually think that conveys what I’m trying to say ._.

It’s more so that I’ve always felt like the celestial symbols symbolise the winner and their play style and values as a whole, not really something that is season specific. Ahhhhhhh this made more sense in my head >-<

Like, I’ve more so interpreted it as like a mark given to those who’ve managed to catch the watcher’s attention through victory, If that makes any sense? So it’s like a thing given once a lifer wins but it’s not like a reward *for* winning, if y'know what I mean. T^T I’ve always seen it as how the winners are distinguished after victory.

Like I feel that in universe the watchers would acknowledge the winners as their celestial symbols after they win and would just further acknowledge them as such even if they won again. It’s just how the watchers would refer to the winners.

It’s also because I personally see them as like symbols that transcend seasons and continues to represent them no matter how a season pans out for any given winner. Although, I suppose what I’m trying to say is that I’ve always interpreted this distinction made by the watchers via the giving of the celestial symbol as more so a one time thing.

While yes, the fandom does usually assign celestial symbols due to how they acted in their winning season, those traits and actions still remain consistent to the point where I’ve never felt like a symbol only makes sense in the context of the season they obtained it.

Thats not to say I have anything against repeat winners. Martyn’s win was absolutely epic and deserved and THE LORE?!?!?!?! The opportunities for lore are endless, this series writes itself I swear!!! But I personally don’t think he needs another symbol to represent this victory, yknow? Cause to me Martyn is already mars and mars is what represents his place and actions in the life series. Martyn winning was amazing and I’m actually really glad things panned out the way they did!!! I just feel like the fandom can take other ways to symbolise and make creative takes out of it besides the standard celestial symbol system.

Also part of me just thinks having multiple celestial symbols would create a bit more unnecessary confusion in the fandom and in a way mess with older winner fan works as well as their interpretations. Plus, I personally think we should be saving them for when new people win the life series, cause it would be devastating if someone won and had the perfect symbol but unfortunately it’s already being used to symbolise someone else’s third win.

Welp... yeah. That’s my life series hot take. I’m curious, does anyone else feel this way at all, or have I spoken such heinous words I deserve exile? Or well, maybe I’m just plain old wrong and too caught up on past seasons to adjust to something I’m not yet familiar with. Who knows? -v(0x0)v- Feel free to share your thoughts. :D

Martyn’s Symbol

As someone who likes the celestial symbols my mind goes to the Moons Phobos and Deimos for Martyn’s Past life Winners Symbol, I’ve also seen others suggest this. The question is: which Moon?

If we look at the Greek mythology of Phobos and Deimos, they are the twin sons of Ares, or Mars in Roman Mythology, often accompanying their father onto the battlefield.

Phobos is the God/personification of Fear, Panic and flight.

Deimos is the God/personification of Dread and Terror.

Which begs the question: which one suits Martyn best this season?

Let’s figure this out together people, as civilised individuals!

Note: I don’t personally count the specials as canon wins. No hate to anyone who does count them! but they just feel like the OVA’s of the anime that is the life series to me.

i know we are all biting our fingernails waiting for the episodes to drop and then for the last PLAYERS to drop...

but i just wanna say no matter what happens and no matter who wins, whether it's jimmy or gem, or any of the three who's won before...

let's all just not spread hate over it. let's not be insensitive and sending hate or just being overall assholes to the creators or to each other. this is the seventh season and we can't continue to take these games so seriously and sending death threats or hate when in the end, it's always been about having fun.

it's fine to be upset about your fave winning or losing but let's not be insensitive about it — i think we should just be proud of everyone and what they've accomplished, not just this season, but over the past for years from 3rd life to now. every member has something from all seven that we should commemorate them for and we shouldn't be spreading hate or fighting battles for our creators when those battles never existed to begin with.

Actually I have a question since we have three past winners in the top 5 (Grian, Scott, Martyn).

What happens to their celestial symbol if they win a second time? Does it stay the same or does it evolve?

I have an idea for a Scott evolution but that’s about it.

EDIT: Ok we have our Winner, which makes this question even more interesting, any ideas for ether a second symbol or an evolution of Mars? (Well done Martyn!)

Propaganda for each:

Jupiter: its a reference to Joel's Empires S2 character which imitated the Greek god Zeus also known as the Roman god Jupiter. The storm on the planet can symbolize his inner turmoil and want to kill, the man moons can symbolise how he surrounds himself with many people but they never can be too close (or else they crash into the planet, or die because he was the biggest target and she was in the way).

The Comet: Only seen for a few moments, passive at first but if it gets too close it can crash into a planet, but not without damaging itself. Often called the shooting star (haha, shooting star, like shooting Scott) which can point to a rivalry between the star and himself. If it does crash into a planet it is fast and does serious damage, not without its own scars.
