I planned out a 3-page comic to go with this concept from @miss--andrews, but as the process went along the drawings weren't looking good to me. Then the dialog started sounding off. I ended up cutting it down to just this section that I liked and felt confident with.

Seriously, after taking a little break from ST and dipping my toes into the heated rivalry fandom it's really sunk in just how awful most stranger things fans are. Zero media literacy, zero nuance, zero room for debate. It's only the Stancy fans that have kept me so engaged with that show for so long because they ACTUALLY explored the nuance, appreciated the complicated feelings and circumstances of the characters, and didn't put them in neat little cliché boxes that completely removed their depth. They saw the question of 'how would Steve and Nancy's relationship be different now? What would love look like for them?' And blew my mind with their thoughtful and creative answers.

And the antis plugged their ears and refused to engage except to repeat the same 3 bad faith, black and white arguments again and again and again, increasingly condescending everytime.

I just watched Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 and to me this is so Stancy with the kids. They’re not even in the same frame, their scenes are completely separate and somehow it’s STILL giving Stancy. I’m losing it 😭

You can literally see they’re the only ones here, guys. I don’t know, it just feels like they’re the ones who actually have that connection, the ones directly tied to the kids. Like, it could’ve been J, but… it’s not, okay 😭 it’s Stancy. God please, I’m falling deeper and deeper into Stancy.

P.S. Not gonna lie, Nancy feels slightly out of character here. she’s a bit too goofy, almost mirroring Steve during the mission.

majority of the cast (Nat, Joe and i’m p sure the duffer brothers too but don’t quote me on that) have said that steve and nancy break up after their fight in s2. it confused me at first but i think it makes sense given how steve/nancy/jonathan break ups generally go. in s1 obviously neither steve nor nancy say “i dump you” but it’s pretty obvious to the audience that after the spray paint incident and steve telling nancy to go to hell they are Basically Over, which i think is what the writers were intending for their s2 argument. Again, neither say the words break up but nancy can’t say she loves steve and steve tells her she’s bullshit ergo They Are Basically Over pt 2. Tommy and Billy and taunt him the next day about them being broken which to me is just there for confirmation to the audience that they have. And obviously the famous jancy breakup s5 that had to be confirmed by the writers because people didn’t think they broke up 😭.

just generally speaking obviously the s2 break up is messy , Natalia herself saying she didn’t like how nancy got together with jonathan immediately after breaking up w steve but i think that was pretty clearly the writer’s intention.
