Yours Truly.
"I'll be waiting here for you."
âNo, you wonât. Get out of my apartment.â
â ââ ââ the civil wars lyrics sentence starters
thatâs the least of all my fears.
please forgive me.
devilâs gonna follow me wherever i go.
iâm a dead man walking.
you only know what i want you to.
i know everything you donât want me to.
you think your dreams are the same as mine.
i wish youâd hold me.
i donât have a choice but iâd still choose you.
youâve been lonely too long.
let me in the wall youâve built around.
let me hold your hand.
youâre like a mirror, reflecting me.
i never meant to get us in this deep.
i wish you were the one that got away.
oh, if i could go back in time.Â
i wish iâd never seen your face.
heâs hidden his heart away.
all he really wants is for someone to want him back.
what i choose is my choice.
the killer in me is the killer in you.
youâre sunlight.
youâre my favorite song, always on the tip of my tongue.
look what youâve done.
you own me with whispers like poetry.
your mouth is a melody i memorize.Â
oh lord, what have i done?
iâve fallen in love with a man on the run.
donât take that sinner from me.
iâve fallen for someone whoâs nothing like you.
i just want to take him home.
he did what he had to do.
give me the burden, give me the blame. iâll shoulder the loud and  iâll swallow the shame.
donât care if heâs guilty. donât care if heâs not.
heâs good and heâs bad and heâs all that iâve got.
i saw heaven every day.
donât you fret my dear, itâll all be over soon.
iâll be waiting here for you.
i donât want to talk right now.
for all that weâve got, donât let go.
i canât pull you closer than this.
itâs just you and the moon on my skin.
just hold me.
sheâs in love and she wonât be again.
iâm going to go home.
why are you so far from me?
in my arms is where you are to be.
how long will you make me wait?
i donât know how much more i can take.
iâm still waiting patiently.
i wanna leave you.
i wanna give up.
iâm gonna say it if you wonât.
stop saying those sweet things you know i like to hear.
youâre right here with me.
you canât blame me.
havenât you noticed me drifting?
iâve got to let you go.
i just keep losing myself.
one glance was all it took.
give me one more chance.
wonât you please let me into your heart?
i was blind to let you go.
i want you back.
trying to live without your love is like one long sleepless night.
iâm coming home real soon.
i love the best i can.
whatever you do, keep it with you.
sometimes i canât tell where i am.
through it all we still remain.
all the kingâs horses and all of his men couldnât tear us apart.
i gave you all the love iâve got.
this is no ordinary love.
i gave you more than i could give.
youâll always be the only one.
i could get over you but please donât ask me to.
you always said you want me to be happy but happiness was having you here with me.
youâll always be the one thatâs standing in my way.

ââHey. Yer kinda early. Thatâs alright, though. Jusâ hope yâ donât mind waitinâ around a while - ainât had a chance tâ get dinner started yet.â
Turning, Spencer allows Ruth to enter the house: itâs not big, but itâs a definite step up from any of the shoddy apartments in this city. Veteran status does have its perks. Spencerâs daughter, June, sits at one side of the table in the kitchen area, currently sucked into the magazine in front of her.
âJuniperâ this is Ruth. Say âhi.ââ
âOh, thatâs alright. I thought traffic was going to be terrible, so I figured Iâd come by a bit early. Turns out it wasnât bad at all.â Ruth appreciates what she feels is the spaciousness of his home. She has no reason to live in a house, but living in an apartment has its drawbacks.
âHey there, Juniper.â Ruth settles down at the kitchen table across from his daughter.  âWhatcha readinâ?â

Dad called today. asked how Iâm holding up. donât see the point of that. Work is stressful, itâs hard to get much sleep when Iâm working overtime.
apartment is nicer than my last one. My neighbors are bearable. itâs a quiet building.
about work: there were two major crime scenes on monday. a film producerâs home and a new station was torn apart. a woman was kidnapped as well. how many of these people are there?
weâre all killers. weâve all killed parts of ourselves to survive. weâve all got blood on our hands. something somewhere had to die so we could stay alive.

rollanddodge:
The rifle posed no concern for Corey. That Russian bastard didnât stand a chance. Instinctively, she checked the clip in her gun. Five bullets left.
âPhone call?â She asked, the surprise faint in her dry voice. The news channels had mentioned the masked assailants received phone calls, ones telling them to maim, to slaughter, to kill. Yet neither Corey nor any of her friends had ever received such a call. They took on the task themselves. Strived to leave a mark on this Godforsaken city.
Besides, who wanted to be bossed around by some anonymous voice on a phone?
âNo. We made our own call, lady. And we have this covered, so you can leave.â
Sheâs survived this goddamn long-- maybe because a lot of the flack was weighted on Jacob. A little of the attention was diverted, at least. People in this city were still getting slaughtered left and right, though. In any case, Ruth didnât want to become the next body.
Neither would she care for anyone at the station to find out.
The door swung open, and the man running in thudded against it as Ruth fired. Discretion was always advised, and this group werenât making that any goddamn easier. She couldnât just kill them, though. That didnât feel right.
âNo. Iâm seeing that this gets done. Iâm only leaving this place once itâs cleared.â
@elephanthide
This was their job. A job Corey had spent hours preparing. After her stakeout, the five of them were supposed to take out the guards, slaughter the Russians inside and be done with it all, another weight lifted from their shoulders. The moment she showed up, the plans were completely derailed.Â
Corey pulled the trigger, bringing another Russian to the ground. Her attention was far from the bleeding body, instead focused on the woman in the elephant mask, the mask intruding on her bloodbath.Â
âWho the fuck are you?âÂ
The zebra wasnât the first one sheâd seen in the place. Of all the calls sheâd received, sheâd never seen so many masks in one place. What the fuck is this?
âI should be asking you that.â There were footsteps coming down the hall. Ruth points the rifle sheâd taken from a fallen guard at the door, knew itâd be opening wide soon enough. âI got a phone call. Did you?â
thundcrbird:
Spencer nods, then shrugs. Heâs not oblivious to the feeling. Things are getting bad out there. Worse than he remembers, anyway. Like the trouble followed them overseas.
ââTakes time tâ get better. We gotta keep goinââ keep helpinâ people. Somebodyâs got to. Hell, itâs our damn job.â
âWell, of course. Thatâs the only damn good consistent thing right now.â From the army to the police force-- it was the only occupation sheâd take when coming back. This isnât the first time sheâs shared her complaints to him, though. Talking about it is just the smallest form she could take of coping with all of this.
âHowâs your daughter holding up in this place?â
