Makima as a character is such an interesting character. Said this twice as there is Makima the character, and an interesting character inside Makima. This will all tie in at the very end of this post. To introduce why Makima and movies work out, need to explain what makes a film too.
Makima and the art of perfection in film making.
Intentional or not from Tatsuki Fujimoto, Makima links with films gives a bit more to explore on with her character.
What are films known for? When people ask about a film, two main questions come in mind: what’s the film about and is it good. Some intrigued people get more curious and ask who made it and the cast, and for the more ‘delectable taste’ as they are not much of the daredevils, they ask how long it takes and are there any other movies they can pull similarities with. In essence; what’s so unique about the film being made?
From the two main questions, it interestingly explains Makima’s character with others. Like movies, hindsight one can decide the quality of the film through edits, re-shoots, cuts etc., and also summarize what’s it about. That is what makes Makima such an interesting character, it’s how she curated the way others perceive their relationship with her provided she meets the status quo like how movies needs a good direction, a good stage, good lighting etc.
She manages to make such a fascinating tale with others despite it being scripted, all made with a perfect vision in mind, something actual bonds can’t relate to. She’s at the perfect stage to be saved, to be spoken to, knows some people’s lines and makes humor of repeating them to them as she sort of took their actions and planned. And it goes beyond planning for many follow suit to present this perfect vision with her. Because movies are trying their best to be as real and authentic as possible, we understand it took an incredible amount of effort for it to be as real and authentic as possible. Even if movies achieve this, at the end, it took a good performance and everything to work out well; developing this perfect image. To top all these, Makima diverse through all types of genres to accomplish the ends of each.
During the time she wanted Denji, she promised a date thus was diving into the romance genre. While others went to hell, she escorted them into the experience of suspense and horror. While making the contract with Aki, there was the mystery parts to it. All showcased her wide variety with these sort of situations that come with betrayal, lust, fear, doubt, anger and a lot more when other characters are in her reach, in the scene. And that’s all it takes at the end of it; a perfect script, the cast members present, the scene they are in, all of it emulating reality and authenticity as to be perfect.
But that isn’t reality. Even as people lie, it comes in a flawed manner, which in on itself is authentic. One is clueless while meeting new people, one creates that sort of trust for they care enough to. Whether a bad sort of care or good, that’s something people build with each other.
Her relationship with Denji.
When it comes to her relationship with Denji especially when Aki dies, Makima tells the audience [us and Denji] enough about this. She states it clear that she sees what she does to Denji’s relationship with others as a sort of transaction; if Denji does things well he’s rewarded by these bonds, and if he misbehaves she takes it away till he learns to behave. It’s a simple act of control but it paints a beautiful picture of what a good quality movie looks like. She understands what makes a good movie, but that inconsequently controls how she looks at what makes real bonds that people have. Unlike movies, they are allowed to be flawed, people learn from each other, and in due time they get to know one another. This reality doesn’t have a great script, or great cast, or the intended scene, as it cares enough to make mistakes not wanted in films.

This is something Makima can’t simply accept as it in her nature to have things as perfect. She allowed her ability to dictate how she can climb up and get what she wants; she can create the perfect film. Even in her dying breath, as Denji still tries to understand who she really was, was all that really worth it, what she thought about him… she remained silent and couldn’t understand or care enough to ask for any mercy from him while he knows. She closed off to be a part of the flawed script, to be part of reality.
In the end, Makima didn’t just want Denji out of the picture, she simply despised how he viewed these bonds with care out of his control. Denji was someone, who like Makima, started off not knowing much of what actual relationships are but made an effort to know them for he states, ‘he feels them’. He doesn’t shut them off no matter how much they hurt, or how much he wanted to. He wants happy ones… which indirectly caused suffering when taken away. And as Makima looked at him in silence in her death, Denji’s love and interest in her despite the obvious means and justifications Makima implemented on him, he chose to keep it.
In another world.
Makima is a troubled character, obviously lol, and it’s hard to decipher her in fanfictions or ‘alternative’ critiques as she cannot seem to exist without her perfect film. She’s a character inside a character. How does one depict her world with authenticity, despite knowing the perfect reality it holds? But as a fan who’s about to step out of line… if she could live without, that in on itself could be an interesting new perspective in her character.
In another world, she could make a perfect yet flawed film director or movie critic. She could capture a good scene, write a good script, give a well thought out story but most audience to it even if they point that out, they would say, ‘there wasn’t that connection, but it’s a great film.’ That, or in a perfect world, she does get rewarded for this impact and reach for art is subjective lol.
Would she make a good enough actress? Trying to decipher her from control can’t be well accomplished as she is the control devil, a character who can’t live without it. Without the bloodlust may be she can safely win an Oscar without a singe!
In conclusion.
Even if there didn’t seem to be care of flaws; a perfection due to its depiction… she had a care towards perfection; a depiction in script. It’s both sad and fitting, a weapon of control also controlled by the actions around her including her own; Makima as a character, and an interesting character inside Makima. Genuine adoration of her cannot be stated enough and she makes not only a perfect villain, but a broken machine acted by a perfect human.
A small quick rundown of Yuuji's character as many seem conflicted with the nature of dialogue he used to Sukuna looking as similar to Mahito's.
Yuuji Itadori.
A brief mention about his character; his name is in relation with humanity and his domain hand sign.
Yuji's mudra is the Kṣitigarbha/Jizō Mudra, it's a Buddha whose duty is to guide souls that had no chance of redemption in life. Kshitigarbha meaning "womb of the earth" indicates Yuji is still a vessel, but instead of hosting a demon, he's the vessel of the will and hopes of others. Yuji is coming to terms with his true intended role, chapter 268 reconfirming this
This is worth noting as Mahito was once confirmed his growth his that of child and Sukuna recently confirmed was sort of 'robbed' a chance to truly know what a human is.

Sukuna Ryomen and Yuuji Itadori.
Yuuji and art of self loneliness. He reflects on the privilege and cherishes how fortunate he is loved, without it he would have been alone.
'You are me'
Sukuna, a curse born and lived with pure isolation, the loneliness Yuuji empathizes with while he reflects without his grandfather for Yuuji's birth already had a role; to bring forth the king of curses. Kenjaku states this as multiple times he emphasizes on Yuuji's 'intended nature' he had wished for him.
Mahito and Yuuji Itadori.
Yuuji and art of perfectionism. A jujutsu sorcerer who's out to exorcise curses that bring misfortune to the world perfectly reflected a mirror between death with curses. 'COG'

Mahito, a perfect mirror between human and conveying the true intended 'death' similar to Yuuji
Others true growth with him.
Personally, Yuuji reached a highly noteworthy technique but interestingly not by himself. His dedication towards the art of jujutsu by focusing solely on saving others without a doubt. And those appreciative of it help him in more earnest and passionate way
His true growth from them.
It's not Yuuji a character alone it's who he's interacting with. Mahito arguably spoke to others but his intention towards Yuuji as Yuuji to him was to demonstrate 'a perfect mirror'. Similar to Sukuna his declaration of killing others in Yuuji's name brought space to talk to him
Important conclusion:
Yuuji understood the self isolation the path Mahito was taking him to, addressing the matter as his own. The concluded for Sukuna path is not to kill Sukuna as Sukuna would have had Yuuji going against his belief
Hope thoughts about the link between the two meaning were conveyed correctly!!! Gege outdid himself with this chapter.
I think about Wasuke's words every so often and how much he said that to Yuuji, someone who was there with him.
'When it's time to go, make sure you're surrounded by others''Don't end up like me'
I think a lot when Yuuji says he's grandpa would be mad if he cried for him.
It adds a lot into the series and the onward discourse treated Yuuji's life was; pointless. To Wasuke, Yuuji despite being in his life doesn't need to cry for him, he goes so far as saying to someone who clearly cared for him that they shouldn't die alone like him.
There is however a hidden or much layered meaning to Yuuji moving on saying 'I'll have to laugh while I burn him up.'
For that, it needs that moment. But for the meantime, Yuuji's stuck thinking over what Wasuke said, his last request.
HELP PEOPLE: NON SORCERER VS SORCERER.
There was something about Wasuke's words that got stuck Yuuji's heart. Because despite doing it before, 'helping people' even before his death, after it Yuuji got introduced into the world of sorcery.
So what other way can he exactly help others, was there a far deeper meaning to it? And should it be a coincidence he becomes a sorcerer who's bound to kill the strongest curse?
THE HEIGHT OF HELPING OTHERS.
So that's the pinnacle of helping people, right? Yuuji thought once he collected the fingers, he can help others, in return he can die surrounded by others… He soon came to learn innate strength alone still ranked him the weakest.
Ok, once he adapts on using sorcery, he can collect the fingers, then he can 'help others before dying' then it's only logically he would have others around while he does… Right?
Yuuji does adapt, but that doesn't stop other sorcerers on him side still not trusting him as one with a almost everyone else still wanting to kill him. Even from the start coming in wanting to help others, save lives, Yuuji's life was always edged onto pointlessness. Its what got him to the position of reflecting on how to grow his strength as a sorcerer.
And it doesn't stop there, just the beginning… when he meet two characters who not only want him dead, but actively hurt him in the progress.
A WEAK SORCERER LEARNING ABOUT BEING THE COG.
It's hammered down more when he's introduced to not only one but two antagonists who mock him for even trying, that results on having those he wanted to save killed; opposite of helping others, proving he's useful dead. But they keep breaking him while he's still alive, they want to feed their egos and self drive Yuuji further into wanting himself dead. This results to nothing but a COG mentality coming in
A WEAK SORCERER COMMUNICATING THROUGH THE COG MENTALITY.
COG otherwise to Yuuji known as a coping mechanism, for that was toughest to adapt; to carry on with the ambitions left by others which meant to do his role as a sorcerer. And the 'perfect sorcerer' he tries to be, a perfect way of helping others for his promise he made to come true
COG MENTALITY ABLE TO COMMUNICATE A WEAK SORCERER.
That had led him to unsuccessfully not killing one of them and when he got a chance to, Yuuji then hesitate. Then Gege circles back to Wasuke, Yuuji's end goal. What couldn't Yuuji have told him before? Yuuji thinks back to the life he spent with him, not his words as he dies.
CONCLUSION
And I think it ties beautiful in the end, not only for Wasuke's conclusion but others who are in the position as him. Throughout the story, Yuuji's being a lot of positions where he and the only one dying are left for each other. Many of those times said people with Yuuji may have felt they were not exactly surrounded by others all because they didn't exactly help who would have been there for them. Does it no longer become a proper death?
It still is.
As they are able to find that closure which Yuuji was robbed from saying to Wasuke, 'you were as important to life with the memories that carry on', a proper reflection.
OWN THOUGHTS
Yuuji can look back fondly while still about to burry his grandfather.
Instead of finding meaning of help others the story reflects from the start which was hesitate to acknowledge; Wasuke didn't die alone, Wasuke in fact raised Yuuji. And it becomes what most see onwards in Yuuji's life. That they weren't alone as they thought. Even if it wasn't much, they did significantly help him which in the end acknowledged by Yuuji carries weight to it and hammers it down. Despite thinking how pointless Yuuji's life is it really never was because of them. 'Help others before you die' becomes a reflection of Yuuji's way of helping others without thinking, just as much thought they put into it helping him. Both are significantly displayed in the end, and it all started because they had each other.

Hashirama, as the head of the football team, along with Tobirama
Izuna, the head of the cheerleading team. He loves to cross dress, and he's dating Toka.
Mito, the most popular girl on the campus. Hashirama’s fiancé because of family arrangements (they plan on ending the engagement when they graduate cuz they can't see themselves as a couple.)
Toka, the muscles of the cheerleading team. The one who carries and tosses Izuna (her pretty princess) around.
Madara, a tsundere with straight A's on all subjects. He has a history of being a great gymnast, but he had to stop when Tajima died cause he had to work for Izuna's sake (it's just the two of them)
Context:
Izuna asked madara if he could fill in a position in the cheerleading squad cause their member had a sprained ankle. The games start in a few hours, so it's an emergency. Madara watches all of Izuna's practice, which means he's familiar with the moves. Izuna says he'll do the dishes for a month, in which Madara agrees.
Hashirama sees Madara and develops a crush, thinking the Uchiha is a girl. Completely clueless that it's his nerdy friend. Tobirama is stumped with his Aniki's stupidity, Izuna is pissed, Toka is amused, and Mito is pinning for the two.
