Julyana loved her sisters equally, but her relationship with each was vastly different. With Eliana, she always felt a need to cheer her up, or help her find some light in these drab events. Yes, she thought some of the nobles were a bore as well, but she saw it as her duty to maintain the families strong ties with others, especially now when she would soon find herself in a strange new place. At her sisters initial response, she couldnât help but laugh. âDear sister have fun with that! You could certainly pull a lot of information out of a man who possesses such bravado.â
As Eliana took a sip, July did as well. It reminded her of home, a small bit of sadness washing over her, especially as the mention of her betrothed came up. âHeâsâŚ.nice.â She replied. âTall, handsome, but so serious. I think heâll make for a good husband, butâŚ.I just hope we can connect.â She sighed, taking another long, sip of wine, letting the effects cast a fog over her worrying mind. She could think about that later, she supposed. âIâm not ready to leave home.â July admitted, still.
Once the initial intrigue of it all had worn off she had found herself returning to the usual disinterest that had long since sank into her bones. The guests might have all been from different places but they still seemed all the same to her and she longed for someone who might capture her attention for even a few minutes. âQuite easily but where is the entertainment in that when it is no challenge?â Sip of her wine was taken as she raised a golden brow to emphasise her question. âMost men spill far too much in front of any woman after a few glasses of wine. It is no skill to simply listen to their boasts.â
Blue eyes were focused on her sister, listening intently at the talk of her betrothed. For all she cared very little about the lives of others, she was very much invested in those of her family. âIf you do not I am certain the blame will lie firmly with him.â Blunt words tripped from her tongue when her bias meant she could never place fault at Julyanaâs feet. âIf he is serious and somewhat though then he sounds far more suited to you than me. I have every faith that you will make this work, sister.â A rare, reassuring smile flickered over her lips as an even rarer gesture of affection was given by slipping her hand delicately into her sisterâs. âOf course you are. It will not be easy but we will not stop being your family simply because we no longer live under the same roof.â
It wasnât a surprise to Julyana that the Tyrellâs were quite a popular crowd for people to wander to for conversation, wine, agreements, business, and the like. Being such a prominent family came with the territory, and although it may be drab at times, she felt she was meant to be born to it. She knew her sisterâs may not feel the same, and sometimes she wished she had their daring spirits. She was certain this entire meet was quite overwhelming to them. When she spotted Eliana, she quickly drifted towards her.
âAre you having fun, sweet sister?â Julyana asked teasingly, knowing she was likely not in the very least, followed by handing her a goblet of wine. âHere, to help keep the conversationsâŚ.interesting.â
On some level she supposed her familyâs popularity was no bad thing when it meant that their reputation had recovered from the mess that had left several of their house dead. It meant that they were still thought highly of and as someone who took great pride in her house, it was gratifying. But that did not endear the countless nobles who sought to bore her with their stale and stagnant tales to her any more. Eyes had been struggling not to roll at the petty Lord before her who though she might have been impressed by his exploits and not a moment too soon she spotted her sister. A hasty excuse was given to the man as she made way for Julyana.
Elegant hand reached out quickly for the goblet, a hearty gulp of it taken that by some miracle she still managed to make look ladylike. âYou should know by now that it would take at least a barrel of this to make such things possible. Especially when men insist on regaling me with supposed triumphs that truly deserve no praise or admiration.â Another sip was taken, this time it was slower as she savoured the taste before raising a golden brow. âBut what of you, sister? Have you met your betrothed?â
âLady Tyrell.â Heâd met her few times but it was enough to put the distaste in his mouth. She took after her father in the annoyance quality. Arguing over lands that had long been established as parts of Dorne, trying to put their own views on his people. It was of course only made worse by their uncles feuds. They were as prudish as the rest of Westeros and it tested him to no end. âI suppose. Though I think Dorne is far finer than⌠some places.â All Highgarden had were their flowers. Trystane was a curious man, despite not truly caring for what she wanted he did have to ask. âAnd what is that Lady Tyrell?â
Brief incline of golden head was given in a belated show of respect. Even if she did not respect the man the title deserved her regard. âPrince Trystane.â Pretty words left her lips in their usual melodic tone, vague smile drifting over her lips as she laid on her neutral routine so thickly she was sure anyone with a brain would see through it. Where the prince fell was yet to be seen. âI am afraid I have not seen nearly enough of Dorne nor of the other kingdoms to possibly make a judgement.â Expression had been almost simpering, a mockery of others who sought only to emerge from conversations without saying anything of meaning. âPeace.â For a moment she left the word hang in the air, gaze almost accusing despite the bright tone she had adapted. âWell, only a moment of it - I feel as though trying to ensure it for future generations might be beyond my talents. Nonetheless, your very presence - as lovely as it is - makes it impossible.â
AN APPARENT FRAGILE THING , the young lady was made to sit , coddled , watched with ever trained eagle eyes , hoping âŚÂ no , PRAYING with somewhat of a fervour that somebody might deign her enough to come chatter in her ear . and there had been a few . people seeking to bolster their ego , prattling on about titles and lands with what they would believe to be quite the well put stare or two . to these people , little lilyana would play faint or exhaustion once she had had her fill of all these people would have to say  (  which , to her , wasnât very much at all once sheâd had her image of sprawling lands painted mentally for later  )  â  and then the cycle would repeat .
that was , until the tap of heels would be heard . ever purposeful , ever graceful and so in time to the ones lilyana would await to hear coming up the corridor towards her rooms back home âŚÂ the smile that paints upon her carmine lips is all too bright when eliana dearest came into view .
â I THOUGHT THIS PLACE  was built of gold . and i have yet to spot a dragon . though i have seen men of many teeth and breath as bad as one imagines a dragon may have  â so perhaps it is a journey fulfilled ? â  she laughs , and it is only carried upon her breath , something short as she stops to inhale and allows eyes to express amusement . her hands reach out , soft things that have barely seen sun and never work , as she takes a sisterâs palm with a hum .  â people are polite , and it is so much so that i fear no connection is to be made with any of them . can you tell me , elia â does everybody treat one so coldly to make up for the sweltering heat of the crowd , or is it fear one can see under the eye ? i do not understand the tensions here . â
Not once had she ever seen weakness in the youngest of the roses like so many others imagined. The two of them might have differed in many ways but she had never once doubted that they were still cut from the same cloth. Bored eyes flickered over the building, deeming it passable before simple musing left her lips. âI suspect its finery has all rather worn off.â Eyes fill with life at her sisterâs comment, enjoyment sparking in them as a smile curved onto her lips. âI think I should prefer to have the company over the real thing over such sorry sights. If nothing else they would be more impressive and there would be no need to feign awe or interest.â
Elegant hand was offered toward her sister, a small squeeze of her hand given as she tried to play the role of comforting sister as best she could. No soft words left her lips ( tongue had been devoid of anything truly honeyed for years ) but instead instructions pour from them like a sigh. âI would not spare any of them a second thought. They are all too hollow for you, Lily." She had never once struggled to dismiss people from her company when she found them lacking in some way but her sister was a far more vibrant being. Perhaps it was simple bias but she had always thought that the youngest Tyrell deserved far more than the emptiness that court had to offer.
Slim shoulders roll in a detached shrug when she found everyoneâs nerves quite âThere are supposed to be tensions. Some are nervous about why we are gathered her and what the Queen has to tell us.â Some might have sought to protect her sister by shielding her from the world but Eliana had always sought to arm her with the truth when ignorance was perhaps the most dangerous thing of all. âBut I see no point in worrying until we hear what she has to say. Speculation takes us nowhere but hysteria.â Logic was at her very core, so much so that it had always overwhelmed her emotions. She supposed that she would perhaps be deemed too clinical but not once had she found enough care within her to decide to alter her ways.
âIf you look closely you can almost see the shores of Dorne across the sea.â He let out a wistful sigh, it was a bit of a stretch, but he could imagine it there. âNothing wrong with the Capitol of course but the freedom of Dorne? Nothing could ever beat that.â Not to mention heâd be away from the endless amounts of people who werenât fond of his loyalties. And despite the connections that House Martell had reformed with House Targaryen his fatherâs words always echoed in his mind, nothing good happens to the Dornish in Kings Landing. His aunts, his uncle, and his cousins. Those ghosts would always wonder the city. âSo did you come to watch the sea with me or did you need something?â
Oceans had never particularly called to her when her her youth had been spent by the banks of The Mander. On some small level she was impressed by them, privately marvelling at their changeable nature and uncontrollable strength. But their sight was not a thing that she coveted and instead her trip to the balcony had been in the apparently vain hope that she might have snatched a few moments of quiet under the guise of being lost in contemplation gazing at the waves.
Instead she only found yet another person she was expect to be on her best behaviour with and so despite her disappointment she managed to summon two polite words as she walked closer- words that fell melodically from her lips but somehow still managed to sound flat. âHow nice.â As he spoke about Dorne, golden brow rose in an unimpressed challenge when she knew she would never favour somewhere over The Reach. âWe all feel that way about our home, do we not? That nowhere else shall ever compare and simply pales in comparison.â Delicate shake of her head was given, sending golden curls tumbling as a wry smile flickers over her lips. âI fear you cannot help me get what I want, your grace.â
Fast tiring of the company that she was supposed to be charming, the golden haired rose excused herself from one particularly enneui inducing conversation in the hope of sparing herself from further such encounters. Privacy was impossible to come by, another constant source of irritation for her, and yet as she walked she finally spotted one person whose company was not totally unwanted by her.
Lithe, graceful steps closed the distance between the two of them as one lyrical word fell from her lips. âSister.â Rare warmth was present in her tone, a fondness that was almost entirely reserved for the young woman before her and occasional given to others who shared the same house as she did. âAre you enjoying yourself?â Concern rested within her gaze as much as curiousity did, keen to know that her sister had been afforded the respect that she deserved. âI take it everyone has been as polite as they should be.â
the south was a  mystery  to victarion ,  who had spent his whole life as far north as most anyone dared to go these days .  who had been raised on stories of even further north ,  beyond the wall that no longer stood ,  past the haunted forest and into the woods with no name .  it was  hotter  here ,  not just for the climate ,  but for the activity .  the city bustled at every turn and vic had thought winterfell full to bursting most days . it must have been only for the landsmeet ,  but there seemed to be more people in kingâs landing than the  entirety  of the northern kingdom .
it seemed half the day before he found a moment to slip away ,  not  alone ,  but where the noise was just quiet enough for him to hear himself think ,  and something else ,  distant ,  which sounded distantly like the yowling of a cat .  â gods , â  he breathed ,  only just hoping no one would hear him .  â is  this  what southerners call music ? â
A moment alone was hard to come by and it only made her tongue all the sharper when she was fast growing tired of people. Gaze darted to whoever was infriging upon her hard won peace. âI can only apologise that you find it so displeasing, my lord. It seems our tastes must differ on the matter.â The lightness to her voice did little to hide the steel and almost defiant tone to her words. She had little interest in whether or not she caused offence to some Northern lord. Unless they were a Stark she counted them of little consequence and even then she struggled to care.
If she were ever to be honest then she might have admitted to not caring much for the current choice in music but her pride had left her feeling quite defensive of her homelands. As if a Northerner had anything close to the taste that was needed to appreciate the finer things in life. Brow lifted in challenge as she could not bring herself to summon anything but a disinterested look as she cast her gaze over him. âTell me, what is it that you Northerners deem tuneful?â
henrik stark was never one to shy away from confrontation. he often got himself into trouble with what he said, so it came to no oneâs surprise when the northern lord found himself getting into it with another for something he said. in all honesty, henrik couldnât even remember what it was he had said to upset the man, but he trusted he deserved the punch he had gotten to his face.
itâd been a few hours and the bruises on his face were as prominent as they could possibly be. heâd had worst injuries, so he wasnât worried about them healing, it was his looks he was concerned with. âmy face doesnât look too deformed, does it? please tell me iâm still as handsome as ever,â he said with a chuckle and his signature smug grin.
Boredom was a sensation that the young Tyrell was all too familiar with, her quick mind always tiring fast when there was nothing to keep it engaged. She had hoped ( in vain it would seem ) that the landsmeet might finally provide some of the excitement that she longed for but instead all she had been left with was more bitter disappointment that everyone seemed incapable of holding a conversation that was not painfully polite and safe.
Detached gaze shifted the way of the speaker, flickering over him as she assessed whether or not he was correct in his smugness. âHandsomeness is subjective, is it not?â Disterest was heavy in her tone albeit it masked in politeness but there was no intrigue in the lilt of her voice. Brow had raised somewhat in vieled challenge before she smoothed her hands over her skirts and attempted a more cordial tone. âI do not think it would put too many people off, my lord. There is more to life than looks - or at least that is what I have heard.â
( MATILDA LUTZ, TWENTY-SIX, CIS FEMALE, SHE/HER. ) could that really be ( ELIANA TYRELL ), the ( LADY ) of ( HOUSE TYRELL ) entering the keep ? kingâs landing is sure to benefit from the fact that theyâre ( ELOQUENT ) and ( OBSERVANT ), but beware, theyâve also been known to be ( PROUD ) and ( CAPRICIOUS ). they hail from ( THE REACH ), and itâs said that they are loyal to ( HOUSE TYRELL ). only time will tell if that will last.
Background:
Second youngest daughter of Garlan Tyrell and Leonette Fossoway she started life as a bright eyed girl whoâs days were spent in wonder. Her mind longed for knowledge and she was endless in her pursuit of it, curiosity knowing no bounds and most of her first ten summers were spent engrossed in whatever scroll or tome she could get her hands on.
However once she felt as though she had learnt enough, she soon grew bored and tired with her life and began to look for increasingly more daring ways of livening it up. The girl who would spent hours reading was quickly replaced by one who liked to experience things first hand instead and she spent hours thinking of increasingly more elaborate ways to slip away and indulge in whatever new experience she could.
Her restless nature led her to becoming more and more reckless and on more than one occasion sheâs been just one step away from a scandal. While sheâd never do anything to hurt her family, she has little care for whether or not she is still deemed marriageable or not. The decision was taken out of her control however and she was soon told of her match to Mateo Clegane, much to her indifference.
Headcanons:
Her tendency to get bored with life means that she has turned her hand to many a talent over the years. Having grown bored of musical instruments or embroidery - both things she has mastered quite well - Eliana turned her attention to less ladylike pursuits. With a few bats of her eyelashes she managed to convince a young squire to teach her how to wield a sword and she practiced daily until she was even better than him. Itâs a skill that she does not make all that public but she has been known on occasion to use it to embarrass any man she feels as though has gotten too familiar or complacent with her.Â
Eliana vastly prefers the company of woman to that of men, knowing that like her most ladies have far more to them than simply their family name. She hates being coddled or treated as fragile or delicate and as such can become rather exasperated in the company of men. In her mind there is no need for competition between women and they should instead be lifting each other up when they are all far more talented than men give them credit for. Of course it helps that her self confidence is that high that even if it was a competition she would be certain she would win.
The Reach has long been something of her playground and while she feels as though she knows other kingdoms quite well due to her endless reading, she truly knows some areas like the back of her hand. Whether it was horse riding or boating she feels as though she has explored every inch of the kingdom that she calls home and she would happily continue to explore it for the rest of her life. She does not have a huge amount of interest in the other kingdoms so when she was informed that her betrothal would require moving away fromÂ
Personality:
For the most part she plays the part of a Lady quite well, eloquently spoken and polite as she needs to be but Eliana has always been a law unto herself. Strong willed and sharp tongued there are moments when she is reminiscent of her great grandmother. She possesses the same intelligence that her aunt once did but has always lacked the drive and ambition to apply it to anything other than her own enjoyment. Her moods are changeable and she is used to getting what she wants one way or another. She is not completely cold hearted but she can be quite self serving and there are only a handful of people who can count themselves lucky enough that she genuinely cares about them. Her House and family are the most important thing to her and for all she has a tendency to push the boundaries of what is acceptable, she would never bring any real shame or problems upon them. Although her loyalty is hard won, once it is there is nothing she would not do for a person. She protects anyone she calls a friend fiercely and although they are few and far between she holds them very dear.
Mini Playlist:
Truth Hurts by Lizzo
Wasabi - Little Mix
Chewing Gum - Nina Nesbi
Donât Call Me Up - Mabel
Anything by Lizzo tbh XD
(note: these are songs that give me muse more than an actual character playlist XD)
Plots:
Frenemies - I am sure she has plenty of people sheâs only polite to because she has to be. Sheâs always one for pushing the boundaries a little though and I would love for her to have almost met her match and have some sparring with someone.
Close friend - there are few people other than her family who she would do anything for but I would like to think sheâs not indifferent to everyone XDÂ
Acquaintances
Ex flings - sheâs been known to fool around with more than a few people and as long as theyâre discrete she would have no issue doing it more than once. However, there would never have been any feelings on her side.
Flirtations - even though sheâs betrothed sheâs still not certain that she is set on the betrothal and as such would still happily engage in flirtation with anyone who will indulge.
Anything else! - if youâve had any ideas from any of this and would like to plot you can find me at andromache#3413 and I will be more than happy to hear what you have in mind!!
