a lot of the other drivers really are protective of Daniel huh considering he’s one of the older ones. Like Max’s entire attitude towards Daniel, seb always looking out for him despite nearly being the same age, George sitting with him when he was alone- the umbrella- hand holding. Lewis pulling Daniel to talk after a bad race last season, everyone wanting him to do well even though he’s their rival. Pierre worrying about his little Monaco crash. All the team principals loving him bar rat brown. The way they hardly ever complain about him on team radio even if he does something wrong. The whole interaction between him and lance after the crash. His past two teams still loving him despite him leaving. Cyril in general. Jenson standing up for him, calling him sweetheart. Felipe. The other retired drivers who adore him. No one else on the grid is treated like that by the majority of the paddock. It’s interesting and adorable.

It’s a real tell of the kind of person Daniel is in real life. I could talk about it all day.

Kamui Kobayashi, a Japanese F1 driver, was always called out for being too aggressive and 'kamikaze' like at a time when other illegal/aggressive driving was just allowed to happen. Like you have brake checks getting 10-second penalties but you're going to accuse the ethnic minority indivual of aggressive driving and give him the nickname kamikaze when his driving wasn't that aggressive at all.

Pascal Wehrlein, a German - Mauritian driver was accused of being too high maintenance and arrogant when most people who've met him or even had a 5 minute chat with him have come out saying that they're not sure why he's even had that reputation at all.

Lewis Hamilton, a British - Caribbean driver (and I can go on forever) has been accused of taking performance enhancing drugs, been accused of purposefully crashing into a opponent, accused of faking injuries (honestly there's so much more for Lewis but I need to make this short).

Alex Albon, British - Thai driver and really only one incident stands out for me but it really infuriated me. So there was a time when he was with RBR and he said there was something wrong with his car and the commentators just glossed past it, thought it was a nonissue. But then MV complains about the same issue just on his car and all the commentators latch into it and it's like but why wouldn't you listen to Alex when he said the same thing. Why do you never listen when it's a person of color?

Yuki Tsunoda, Japanese driver, him and Lewis were actually called out for their team radios being aggressive so much that they actually apologised for their language which honestly wasn't even too bad and people have said worse. You're going to excuse ableist language on the team radio by saying 'but he was under pressure' or 'it came out in the heat of the moment' but you're going to call out a person of color and an ethnic minority for lesser offences. Like why?

Don't tell me that F1, the FIA and other Personnel associated with F1 aren't racist or don't have racist tendencies when the only drivers of color/ethnic minority drivers have been treated like this. Don't tell me there's no need for reform and everything should stay the same. And don't tell me that Lewis' fight for racial equality has no place in F1. Because for all your talk (and I do mean the select few whose voices seem to be heard the loudest) about how everyone is equal and how Lewis' activism about BLM shouldn't be a thing because there is no need, you're also the people who continuously prove the fact that these people of color/ethnic minorities have no place in F1. What example does that give to the little people wanting to join F1? What example does it give to the actual drivers who've sacrificed so much to carve a small place in history, only to find themselves being known as high maintenance or overly aggressive when they're not actually any of those things.

P.s. I feel like people are going to use Zhou Guanyu to be like no you're wrong cause he hasn't gotten hate and like yh he hasn't gotten hate yet (it's only been 2 races) but the minute he does something (not even anything too bad) they'll be after him like a bunch of vultures.
