Honda Civic Type-R EP3 Prototype, 2001. The second generation was manufactured in Swindon, England. The European version had a 197hp 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine (K20A2). The Japanese version (pictured, which was also made in Swindon) featured a helical LSD (limited slip differential), more track-oriented suspension set-up and a 212 hp K20A engine with a fully balanced crankshaft, higher-lift camshafts, higher-compression pistons, chrome-moly flywheel and ECU programming. The Japan-spec K20A powertrains were built in Japan and shipped to Swindon to be installed in the Japan-spec Type-R which were then exported to Japan. Honda has announced the closure of their Swindon operation
