Top 10 worst gymnast tattoos? I honestly don’t care what anyone puts on their body -you do you- but some of the things gymnasts come up with are seriously crazy.
Agreed. I may not like a lot of these tattoos, but they can do whatever they want with their bodies and they seem to like it.
That being said, here are some of my least favorite tattoos in MAG (not in any particular order). Disclaimer: I do not have any tattoos myself (I’ve seriously considered it but always end up saying no), and this may come off a bit judgy.
1. Brinn Bevan. I won’t post a pic here but it’s on my blog if you scroll a few posts down (I’m also assuming that is what inspired this ask so you probably already know what it looks like anyway).
2. Casimir Schmidt. He is currently in the process of adding color, as you can see, but I’m not sure if that makes it better or worse.
3. Alex Naddour. The back tattoo, not the sleeve. I am not a fan of large religious displays.
4. Igor Radivilov. The neck tattoo. (sorry I couldn’t find a better pic). I generally dislike neck and face tattoos.
5. Reiss Beckford. The ones on his back are kind of all over the place. As for the front, he has a cross as well, with a sunburst. I hate the sunburst.
6. Paul Ruggeri. Another sunburst, but on his arm.
7. Jake Dalton. The clasped hands and the American flag.
8. Oleg Stepko. There’s a lot going on here. The random shark on his arm, the “only God can judge me” on his chest (because LOL you do gymnastics dude, they have to judge you)…
9. Louis Smith. There’s a nice sentiment behind it, as is the case with a lot of these tattoos, but the angels on the side make it into this weird shape. I’d probably be okay with this without those angels.
10. Denis Abliazin. Honestly I debated putting him on this list at all. I find his forearm tattoo amusing because it reminds me of a Dark Mark.
Honorable mentions: Marvin Kimble (large cross on his side, and a lion on his shoulder that looks unfinished), Donnell Whittenburg (also has a cross but on his forearm; honestly I forget it’s there half the time though), Dominick Cunningham (another clasped hands tattoo), Artur Dalaloyan (plain cross on his triceps; could be worse but it looks really out of place), Pablo Braegger recently added a bit to his calf tattoo.
Tattoos other people probably hate but I don’t mind: Bart Deurloo and Marcel Nguyen.
So yeah, the Brits and Americans kind of dominate this list, and I am not a fan of the religious tattoos. Keep in mind I did not take intent or sentiment into account; I realize a lot of people get tattoos to commemorate someone/something, or because they’re really proud of something, but… execution matters. Also, this is my personal opinion, so don’t vilify me if you disagree.
Thanks to @twoflips-threetwists for helping me since I forgot a lot of these guys even had tattoos in the first place.
