My Second Screen Final
Test Screen
To Do
Today I've booked the studio space to film my second moving image, the screen test. I plan on using several models and then either pairing all models together and have a series of small screen tests linking with the first screen, or just using one of the screen tests. I will be returning to edit and then will decide once all have been shot.
SCREEN ONE FINAL MOVING IMAGE
Screen one of my moving image installation on my YouTube account
Ricio Montoya - WANDER
Rocio Montoyo
Blog researching into Ricio Montoya's work on her tumblr has been truly inspiring, I particularly like the choice of colour and filters used over the layers on her video work/ imagery.
Here are some of my favourite stills from one of Ricio's most recent films on vimeo.
This video is posted in the blog post above ~
Ricio is also a fantastic photographer, some of her imagery is very relatable in a sense that it some cases it is very similar is a some of the work that I also try and achieve, for some of Ricio's work, this leaves me in awe. Here are two of the images I've seen of Ricio's so far of which I particularly like.
The Perfect Place To Be; I found this short film on vimeo researching into different styles of moving image. this is definitely one of my favourite short films. I particularly like the placement of the scenery and the script over said scenes. I prefer short films that have speech over them rather than music or in a lot of cases absolute silence.
SCREEN ONE
Final moving image for one of the installation films - complete.
after much deliberation i have decided I won't be using the day and night shots on seperate screen, i will be incorporating them and using the screen test footage, being shot in the studio as screen one and day/evening footage as one moving image on screen two.
So far I've made 4 Moving Image films, I feel like the more I make the more confident I get with my work. It would be difficult to go out, shoot and put it together in one go - it could be a good idea for me to do this with a upcoming project to see how I could handle working that way to get out of my comfort zone, although I wouldn't say making moving image films is in my comfort zone at all. In a sense I feel like I have the idea but putting the product together doesn't seem to be how I pictured it at the start.
In these screen shots it shows how I made 3 of my 4 films in iMovie.
After reviewing both moving image films along side each other I feel they are both too busy to have playing at the same time, each of the films distract from the other. To avoid this being an issue I am going to incorporate both day and night moving images together and play the screen test along side it as one moving image film instead.
my first draft for my screen two; I particularly like the pace to this moving image but feel I do have a lot to discuss in my next session and need to decide whether this should replace the screen test.
My up to date, but still unfinished, version of screen one.
Some stills from the mundane dat-to-day not yet finished moving image film. I really like how some of these work as images, From where I stand at the moment I prefer my stills to the actual moving image but once I have my final footage and have decided on whether or not i am including a screen test instead of either the day or night films of Cardiff and home life, the actions and consequences of both, either, or. I will then have a solid plan for filming my final Action and Consequence moving image.
