ooc; I’m finally back! I have a million drafts, but I’m going to be dropping a few that I just don’t have the muse for. I’ve been so overwhelmed about being on her because of it.
After I figure out which ones I want to keep and reply to them, I’ll make a starter/plotting call.
ooc; Yesterday I was prescribed anxiety medicine for the first time ever and it’s making me feel super tired. I really wanted to do replies today, but I didn’t expect to feel like this.
Hopefully this weekend it’ll start evening out and I’ll get to replies!

“I spent my life chasing after Niklaus,” Elijah said, amused by her analogy. “Always tried to keep him at bay. Never really worked, but that’s Niklaus for you.”
“I hope he appreciates having a brother like you.” Caroline wasn’t sure he did, but Klaus was full of surprises sometimes. “So, are you happy being his second in command?”
“Do I seem like I enjoy being his second in command?” he asked, chuckling. Elijah tilted his head and smiled at Caroline. “How about you? Did you enjoy your little tryst with Niklaus in the woods?”
“How long are you in town for, again?” he asked, even though he knew she hadn’t told him. Elijah turned and began walking down the street. He kept her on the inside of the sidewalk - something an older woman once taught him - and placed a hand on her lower back. For some reason he couldn’t stop touching her. Elijah was already infatuated with the woman and that was going to be bad in the long run. If things went even a little bit further, he’d have to tell her what he was.
Cara followed Elijah’s lead as they headed down the street, making an effort and failing to keep her blushing to a minimum as he placed his hand on her lower back. Oh, well. At least she hadn’t jumped this time. “I’m not sure yet,” she answered honestly, “It depends on how quickly a new job presents itself. …I’m the all work and no play sort. The only downtime I ever have involves a quick cup of tea and a book.”
Elijah smiled when he realized she was relaxing around him. He figured she hadn’t had much time to relationships considering she said she was a working type of woman. “I suppose I’ll hope nothing presents itself too quickly,” he smiled. They reached the bar and he pulled the door open for her. He gave a quick wave to the bartender, Camille, and ignored the look on her face as he walked in with the woman. “You can find a table if you wish. I’ll get us drinks. Any you’d like?”
“What do you mean?” he asked, bringing his hands up to his chin. “I don’t have much of a story to tell.”
“Rebekah spent a good chunk of the past century in a box. Klaus has spent his entire vampire life trying to prove that his dick is the biggest. What about you?”

“What can I say?” he asked, smiling. “I’m just an all around good person. Could I get you something to drink? Tea? Coffee? Bourbon?”
“Oh. No, I’m good. Thanks.” Caroline bit down on her bottom lip. “So…I know Rebekah’s story. And I mostly know Klaus’. What’s yours?”
“What do you mean?” he asked, bringing his hands up to his chin. “I don’t have much of a story to tell.”
Elijah took a giant step back when she kicked the door and widened his eyes. This woman was most definitely something. He had to remind himself to keep his guard up around her. One wrong word or movement and she could have him severely injured. “What can I say? I don’t scare easily,” he said, eyeing slightly. When she let her hair fall, he eased up and admired her from behind. Though she scared the living daylight out of him, he had to admit that she was insanely beautiful as well. Elijah stepped closer and eased the jacket off of her when she hissed out in pain. “You could have just asked for help.” He stepped back again, not wanting to make her uncomfortable and looked down the road. “Rousseau’s. It’s a nice little bar.”
Cara offered him a soft smile, “Good to know.” And then he was helping her to remove her jacket and, once again, she felt her cheeks start to grow warm. Supernatural monsters she could handle. A handsome, intriguing man who somehow kept making contact with her was another matter entirely. “Thank you,” she murmured. She locked and shut the door to her truck, and followed his gaze down the road, “That sounds nice. Probably the most I’ll get to see of the city while I’m here.”
“How long are you in town for, again?” he asked, even though he knew she hadn’t told him. Elijah turned and began walking down the street. “My brother once spoke very fondly of you, Ms. Forbes. I have heard much about you. It’s a pleasure to finally get some one on one time with you.”
“I agree. Actually, it’s about damn time that we’ve had a conversation. You did, after all, basically save my life.”
“What can I say?” he asked, smiling. “I’m just an all around good person. Could I get you something to drink? Tea? Coffee? Bourbon?”
He followed beside her and kept quiet. He didn’t want to say something and blow his cover at not being human, but he’d try to keep his secret. “I’m not going to pry too much into your personal life. At least not until I know you better and you know me better,” he said, smirking her way. “I don’t understand what you did or why, but that’s your life. So, feel free to keep whatever you wish to yourself.” Elijah stopped at her truck beside her and looked around as she did whatever she had to do.
Cara shook her head in bewilderment, “If you say so. You’re taking this a lot better than most…” Better than everyone, really. Having arrived at her truck, she pulled out her keys and unlocked the door, giving it a swift kick to get it open. She then pulled the elastic from her hair, letting it cascade down around her shoulders in an attempt to hide some of her cuts and bruises. She moved to pull off her leather jacket – which had become blood-stained at one point or another during her hunt - when she had to bite back a hiss, having forgotten about her busted ribs. She took a beat before slowly removing it and then turning to face Elijah again, “Good to go. Did you have someplace in mind?”

He’d never come into contact with holy water before but based on what happened to the other vampire it didn’t look like a fun time to be had and he rather not test it out.
“All right,” Cara responded, leading the way to her truck. A beat of silence passed before she offered, “Do you have anything you would like to ask me? I know that what you saw… It can be confusing. Terrifying. Some people like to know, to understand what they’ve witnessed. …And some prefer not to.” While Cara was often the type to try to learn as much as possible about anything and everything, she could understand the preference for ignorance in this case. The supernatural world… Once it was entered, it could never be left.

Elijah smiled as Elena gushed over the fact that they were going to be having a daughter. He watched her face light up and he too couldn’t help but feel happy. Being a father was something he always wanted and now that he was getting the chance he couldn’t believe it. “Her heart beat tells me. She’s definitely a little girl. Another little Mikaelson lady to grace our presence and I promise you that you I will not let you do this alone. We will be a perfect little family.”
Elijah swallowed loudly, unsure of how to answer her last question. “Because clearly whatever you were doing was protecting us…humans from whatever he was.” Elijah would let her believe he was human for as long as possible. His suits could be explained by saying he was lawyer or something. He could think up an excuse later. “Thank you, by the way.” He should thank her, right. A human would be thankful to still be alive at this point. “I’m glad you were around or else I would be dead by now.” He walked over to her and shook his hand. “Could I repay you by buying you a drink? You seem like you could use one. I Know I could,”
Cara was intrigued, to say the least. There was something off about this man. Something different. Part of her was sure it was a hunter’s instinct. The need to verify that this man was safe, that he wasn’t killing innocents just like the previously-possessed man before her. But she couldn’t deny that the other part of her simply wanted to understand him. To comprehend him as a whole. She murmured, “One moment.” She took a burner phone from her pocket and dialed 911. She left an anonymous tip about the body before crushing it beneath her heel, wiping it clean, and then throwing it in the trash. She then turned back to Elijah, “A drink would be lovely. I just need to make a brief stop at my truck…”
Elijah found himself slightly nervous when she began to study him. “Elena, it’s not physically possible.” He was standing now too. “I’m not saying you’re those things. I’m saying there’s no possible way the child you’re carrying is mine.” Elijah turned into his super hearing and listened. Elena was indeed carrying a child and whether it was his or not didn’t matter. “You need to calm down. The child doesn’t like it when you’re worked up.” Elijah looked at her and sighed. “Let’s say it is mine… What does that mean?”
Elena couldn’t help it - she glared. “Well then just call me Mother Mary,” she said, sarcasm heavy in her voice. Sure, Mary had supposedly been a virgen and Elena wasn’t, but Elijah had been the only one she’d slept with in the time frame that could have gotten her knocked up. “I know it’s supposed to be impossible. But you’re an Original. Maybe you’re just messed up.” Elena thought about that. The words hadn’t come out like she had meant them to but she thought the point still stood. “Oh. Oh the baby doesn’t like it when I’m worked up?” She tensed and then did her best to calm down. It wasn’t the child’s fault that Elijah was being difficult. She took a deep breath. “Elijah, the baby is yours. There is no other explanation. I’m sorry if it’s confusing, or if you weren’t ready for something like this, but it’s happening.” She crossed her arms and looked at him, trying to keep her voice calm. “You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. I just… thought you should know.”
Elijah cowered slightly at her glare but held himself together. “Well, clearly you’re not a virgin. We’ve made love plenty of times. The point of the fact is that I’m technically dead. Therefore, I’m sterile. I cannot get anyone pregnant.” He tried to listen to her her reasoning but it didn’t make sense. “Yes, she doesn’t like it when her mother is upset. Please, sit down.” Elijah sighed and figured he should just agree. “Okay,” he gave in. “So we’re having a baby.”
Elijah pulled his hand away when she started and frowned slightly at her. He hadn’t meant to intrude on her personal space, but she looked to be in serious pain. “I didn’t mean to be rude about that,” he said, stepping back himself. He smoothed down his blazer and sighed. “Are you new to New Orleans?” he asked, trying to talk to her about something. If she found out her was a vampire there was nothing stopping her from trying to harm him. It would do not good considered there was only one thing in the whole universe that could him. But she could definitely take on any other vampire. Considering he knew the one who she just took down.
Cara shook her head, unwilling to meet his gaze until her coloring returned to normal, “No, it’s fine. I’m just not used to…” She trailed off, latching onto his question instead. “Yes, I’m just passing through, but… How are you not more concerned by what you just saw? Why aren’t you afraid? Or questioning me, or calling the police?” All of which were responses she’d witnessed in the past. She tilted her head to the side as she finally added, “And why were you worried when you thought that I was carrying holy water?”

Elijah met her look and knew right away what she was thinking. It was possible. Hope was growing up just fine and her home was more dysfunctional than Davina and Kol’s would be. They loved each other. Hayley and Niklaus did not. Elijah offered her a small smile and crossed his arms.
“You could,” he said. “We would never sell you out. We have yet to sell Hayley out and trust me, the choice has been there, Davina.”
They hadn’t sold Hayley out. He was right about that. And they had protected her like she was one of their own. But Hayley had been put through so much just by being associated with them. And every single time, Hayley had been on their side. Could Davina do that?
"I don’t trust you. Any of you.“ She said, "You’ll have to earn that. But I don’t think some of you ever could.”
Her words hurt him more than he would have thought. How could she not trust them? They shouldn’t be trusting her after the little stint she’d recently pulled. Davina was a powerful witch and she so proved herself time and time again.
“I’m sorry you feel that way. Hopefully we don’t give you anymore reason to not trust us.” He looked away and pursed his lips.
"I thought you'd be gone by the time I woke up..."
“Funny how we think certain things and the opposite tends to happen.”

Elijah was surprised when she offered her own neck to him. When she said he needed to feed, he was about to get up and get a blood bag when she took him off guard. Elijah was left speechless, but when a vein in her neck made itself known he felt his whole body tense and the urge to bite her was taking over. He fought it for as long as he could and searched her eyes for a moment.
Slowly, he lowered his head and sunk his teeth into her neck.
Well, well. A surprised Elijah, that was certainly a rare sight, one Freya wasn’t sure she should feel guilty or proud of. Then again, of the siblings, he was hardly one to regularly indulge in fresh blood. Even after Niklaus had “hired” humans for the task. A ghost of his past no doubt, the red door Esther had helped him to manifest and use to cope as a newborn vampire.
“It’s alright,” she murmured as she read the conflict in his eyes. “I can defend myself if I need to.” Far better than a human anyway. One snap of her fingers and Elijah would drop like a ton of bricks and be out for a few hours at best.
At the sting of the bite Freya gasped, arching on instinct. One hand coming to rest at his lower back while the other tangled in the hair at the nape of his neck. If there was one thing the countless books and myths got right, to the one being fed off of -in a situation like this- the sharing of blood was a sensual experience.
Something about drinking from her like this was simply erotic. If Elijah was turned before, he was even more so now. The taste of her blood as he had his feel caused him to growl slightly. For a moment, he couldn’t stop but somehow found the way to and pulled away from her neck. His eyes met hers and before he could stop himself, his lips came crashing down onto hers in a deep, passionate kiss.
Arousal overtaking him, Elijah pulled away and flipped Freya onto her stomach. Pushing her knees up to her chest, he slammed his whole length deep inside her. A loud moan escaped him as her wet wall enveloped him fully.
He gripped her waist harshly and pulled her back against him repeatedly. No amount of movements was relieving him. Pushing her down into the mattress he began to thrust harder and harder until the bed was smacking into the wall and she couldn’t contain her moans any longer.
