OOC Update: Extended Hiatus

Hello lovelies, Well, here we are roughly what...4 months later? As much as I would love for this to be an update where I am coming back at 100% I am posting just to update and let everyone know that I am still working in education and am...mentally and emotionally spent. These past few months have been the craziest I have ever had in education (so yes, I am still teaching) due to the fact I am teaching both in-person and online students at the same time. This means double the prep, planning, grades and so much more! Though my district is hoping to end this current set-up by January. Due to this, it will probably be at least until then before I’ll be able to devote true time to getting Freya back up and running. I honestly need to do a rewatch of TO and see what it stirs with her, but my downtime these days is not even usually true downtime. However, that said, I miss everyone and hope you are fairing well (all things considered in the world right now.) Depending on what happens around Christmas/New Year’s I hope to have another update for you. ...I do have Discord if anyone feels so inclined to reach me there. Stay safe and update soon!

OOC: Semi Hiatus

Hello my lovely followers,

I’ve fought against making this post for awhile, however, I feel like it’s only fair to make this notice now as my muse for Freya is...spotty at best of late. For those that may not know, I work in education and with all the craziness surrounding that profession since March, my creativity and emotional state have been a bit of a roller coaster. It hasn’t been a fun ride and seems to only get worse by the day, as this one and that one try to figure out what to do before next month. I also have some health issues that could make getting sick worse if I do in fact get it. 

I’ll be honest, I also didn’t watch most of S2 of Legacies so that probably only further pushed my muse for Freya down on top of other things. The fact Tumblr keeps doing all these updates and tweaks doesn’t help my motivation either.

So for my own peace of mind (as I hate when people go ghost and then wonder if they’re ever coming back) I figured I’d do this post now. Like the title says, I see this as a “semi-hiatus” as I do still check the blog, am going to try and get the handful of things I owe out, and keep threads going if my partners are willing. Just fully know I will probably only be replying once or twice a week and not nearly as fast as I used to -at least not for awhile.

I still love Freya with all my heart and am not ready to let this muse go -please know that-. and watch, now that I’ve made this post she’ll come back with a vengeance; LOL. Seriously though, everyone stay safe (at least as much as you can) and know that I hope to be back at regular pace again soon. I just need time to figure out what that will look like in this new world of ours.

Freya eyed her niece with a hint of disbelief at those words, but more concern than anything. “Tired. Last I checked, vampires didn’t get tired.” At least not in the traditional sense of one’s physical body -short of desiccation. And as far as Freya knew, her darling niece had not suffered such a fate. Though in this family? Tiredness wasn’t necessarily limited to the body. “Something on your mind?”

No, Freya would never put her new husband in a suit. It seemed of the family, only Elijah had ever truly pulled that look off. “I’ll have to keep my eye open then.” Her words were teasing, placing another peck to his lips. The blonde shrugged at the question, “Won’t know until we get there, but it’s nice to be somewhere different for awhile.” To breathe as it were. “I wouldn’t mind finding a few more dishes to try back home.”

I guarantee, the compound will still be standing when you get back.” No, she doesn’t, but who cares.

“Friends close and enemies closer.” Freya murmured, far easier to see the weapon of destruction that way and plot a defense. Not that the blonde herself hadn’t taken time away over the centuries. “I always hated running.” Felt like her control had been stripped away; her choice.

Her green eyes rolled in an amused fashion. “Comes with the job.” The expectation as the eldest. “To love and hate all at the same time.” The emotions blurring with time, as had her reasons for staying or leaving. “You all became the surrogates for the children I’ll never have.” At the latter suggestion of a vacation, the elder vampire’s shapely brow rose. “The compound very well may, but which of you I wonder, would stuffed into your coffins?” And how many centuries later would it take for them to convince Niklaus to let them out?

That flash of teeth only proving Freya’s feelings. Still, regardless of the ups and downs, Leah was her blood and Freya would love her till her last breath. “Europe is overly romanticized.” The blonde answered, adding, “Oh, my darling baby sister...I’ve never quite been the saint you make me out to be. Elijah and I have just learned to trade off.” It was the only way to keep sane.

whether it’s the way you bare your teeth when backed in a corner, your loyalty, or your tendency to act on instinct, your reoccurring theme is the dog. like mitski said, “I get mean when I'm nervous, like a bad dog” or how Halsey said, “I won’t smile but I’ll show you my teeth” even when Migos said “dance with my dogs in the night time” the essence of the dog runs through you. you’re tough and a quick draw on the outside, but if we got down to it we’d see you’re acting the only way you’ve ever known how. it doesn’t make you bad, survival is natural, your loyalty and determination is commendable. I don’t blame you for the way you act when your back is against a wall, but please remember to not bite the hand that feeds.

Stairs? His head sprung a bit a flash of a brick Wearhouse. He didn’t see much more in the flash other than a pretty damn nice car and that brick Wearhouse. “I don’t wanna kick you outta your bed ‘cause I can’t make it up some damn stairs.” He hated this now. being weak. Being unable to do simple things like walk and sit up. A flash of anger shown in his eyes over this. Someone did this to him or was it someones? He couldn’t remember. 

“They’ll have to find their own then,” Freya replied back, “this one’s mine.” And she wasn’t about to apologize for it, not after the hours she’d spent here. Freya pretty sure Lin had bribed a few of the staff just to let them stay longer than normal. “I do.” Cerberus had proven that time and again, more times than even he could remember at present. “Just like I’m yours.”

“Hey,” Freya prompted. “You’re not kicking me out of anything. I chose to spend the last two nights somewhere in this hospital all on my own.” Where he went, she went. At least as much as Freya was able. “We’re gonna get through this together.” Besides, she’d never sleep well knowing he was downstairs alone and not 100% himself God forbid anything else happened.
