A thought.
Throughout this project i have been searching for the void, trying to find it’s meaning, trying to look at it almost scientifically. What makes it, is it those blue tones, is it down to how the focus point control your eye, is it the distance in the image? But these last few shoots at the end have made me realise that i can’t make it fit, i cant identify it in that way as it changes, its not a physical thing, it morphs, changes, grow and shrinks with you throughout your life. Everyone has their own version of the void, some for tiny smidgens of their lives, some live with it almost constantly. I started looking at this, chasing it, chasing the void, trying to see it everywhere, forcing it in my images, this is where the images started looking like more of a study of space. So in recent shoots, i don't try i put it where i want, i was driving through Seasalter and found it. I don’t need to chase it, you have to accept it. Let it be there, know it isn't the end of the world. The void is the negative space in images that produce the positive space, it is what makes you look at the details and enjoy the image.
