I'm calling out actions that are shitty. I'd do it a million times over, if you post something for public consumption it's subject to public criticism. Writers have the freedom to write and share whatever they want, and I have the freedom of speech to criticize their rape fantasies. This mindset doesn't stop with fantasies, it seeps into reality inch by inch over that line of morality.
For instance, Wade Wilson is an anti-semitic murderer. He brutally murdered two women and attempted to murder a third. He has two swastikas tattooed on his head. Anyone with a sense of empathy for these women and their families should know this man is disgusting.
Instead, with the rise of "dark romance" books being widespread, women are calling him hot and sexualizing him and his actions. They're comparing him to this "dark romance shit." It's not about disliking the kink, it's about what indulging these rape fantasies leads to. Not to mention, this encourages rapists to believe what they're doing is okay because clearly their victims must want it.

The issue is that romanticizing and sexualizing rape, misogyny, abuse, etc. isn't just gross, it's genuinely harmful for numerous reasons. These are real life experiences that REAL people go through every day, and the glorification of it only pushes the rhetoric that people "secretly want it," or that in any case we *should* want it. Abuse isn't sexy. Rape isn't sexy.

my favorite thing here is the use of the word "glorify", which implies knowledge of the context of the sexual content. how is something glorified? what defines glorification? how can we say that Handmaid's Tale isn't "glorifying" the same topic?
for example, in the novel, Offred has sex with Nick who inherently has insane amounts of power over her, therefore rendering her consent inherently dubious. that's how power structures work. likely you didn't critique Margaret Atwood for her "disgusting glorification" of sexual abuse. i assume you did not do this because you read the book and understood the context of the relationship.
i also notice you are a writer of Kylo Ren x Reader. perhaps you're familiar with the argument that writing smut about Kylo Ren is disgusting because he is a murderer and the leader of a fascist dictatorship. your comment in the replies could easily be rephrased as:

i'm sure that you don't perceive your "pookie" that way - but believe it or not, some people do hold these beliefs. what makes you right and them wrong? how do you determine where to draw the line when it comes to "crimes" of fiction? the answer can't be censorship - the very exact same logic you use, the emotional response of "disgust", is used by people who would hate for you to continue writing about Kylo Ren. their feelings are, inherently, just as valid as yours.
hopefully this simple example illustrates why it seems very very silly for you to imply "glorification" when you have not read the fic and why it's extremely goofy to throw stones in a house made of sugar glass.
all of that being said, Little Bird is not even close to the worst thing I've written, nor the most objectionable content in this fandom. next time, block and move on instead of stating that someone so disgusting has to have a mental illness (ableist, by the way, but that's neither here nor there).
There IS a clear difference between glorification and bringing awareness to something and based on the fact that the majority of your tags are based on pornographic extremism, it's clear to me that you're glorifying it. The Handmaid's Tale is not a romance, but Little Bird is marketed as one.
The line being crossed here is not oh, this bad guy has killed people, it's gross to make him a good guy, the line being crossed is making this guy out to be what is essentially a rapist, and getting off to it. There has been plenty of research proving that pornography like this has real-life consequences, for real-life people. I'm sure it also depicts Kylo as an abusive partner, as many works do, which only enforces the rhetoric that abuse is sexy, that it's sexy for your partner to harm you, that it's sexy for your partner to rape you.
You'll also notice that The Handmaid's Tale does not have specific sex scenes that are overtly glorified, and Offred's sexual relations with The Commander are depicted as rape- something she cannot say no to. Her sexual relationship with Nick is something she feels she has control over. She goes back, time and time again, despite the dangers and despite not knowing if he will even open his door to her.
Sure, you could argue that writing fanfiction about Kylo Ren in and of itself is amoral, however while my fic is not completed and only starting up I've planned to reshape the First Order into a flawed and corrupt system. But not one without improvement, and not one that doesn't make efforts to help people. And if I throw some smut in there I'm sorry to say it but both parties will be fully consenting, if that's what "vanilla" means I will happily be vanilla.
I'm not saying your fic shouldn't be allowed. I think freedom of speech is important regardless of content, but I also think that just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD do something. And wanting to write graphic scenes of what is basically rape (based on how you've tagged it,) is not something any one of sound mind would want to do.
If something is public, it is publicly available to criticism. I don't have to read the fic to know that the concept and the tags are deeply disturbing.

• She decided to leave her life behind mainly to get away from a crazy ex-boyfriend who wouldn't leave her alone, but also because she wanted that experience for herself (who wouldn't??)
• Either way, she ends up working under this doctor for 3 years before the story takes place. Puts reader in her mid-20s or so.
• Cliche, I'm sure you know where this is going, she's tasked with helping Kylo after Rey rocks his shit in TFA.
• Reader pulls no punches; I pull no punches. She's bitchy, she's cunty, she's delusional, she's dramatic, and she's a major man hater because what's the point of fanfiction if it's not self-indulgent?
• Best friends with Hux, she waltzes in unannounced to complain or gossip or talk about Taylor Swift (love of my life😔😔)
• Hux will 100% be a Swifty
• He thinks Reader is annoying at first but they end up 🤞 and he starts talking to her too
• I'm gonna give him a cute little boyfriend that Reader instigates
• On that note Bisexual!Reader
• Slowest slow burn EVER it will be agonizing but don't worry I'll add all the little scenes that everyone eats up in a slow burn, the tension will be unmatched
• Kylo? mean at first, for sure, but so is the reader. He'll warm up to her, start asking questions when she won't shut up instead of telling her to be quiet and do her job
• His puppy dog eyes will be entirely unreasonable but who doesn't love a tortured soul
• Reader will eventually be assigned as his personal medic and will go on missions with him which leads to a lot of chapters based around planet exploration, I have a LOT of ideas for that
• Might get raunchy, might get philosophical, maybe a little personal idk I just went through a breakup and had just been through a different breakup when I planned this fic and both guys were EVIL‼️‼️ beware Reader will be working through it and so will I
