honestly, i think the timing of the pitgirl scene resets our assumptions of how many adult survivors there are

people assume the 8 survivor theory based off the feast they had in the pilot, but when mari is revealed to be pit girl, there is clearly more than 8 girls currently alive

do i think all of them survive? no, cause just when you dont think they get worse, they get worse

but i definitely think it opens up the opportunity for the writers to include more survivor adults in the adult timeline

jeff as the guy that started shauna's descents

in the teen timeline: jeff as the conflict point (via cheating/pregnancy) between jackie and shuana -> fight between shauna and jackie -> jackie's death (i am purposely ignoring their nuanced dynamic rn)

and also shauna and jeff's baby dying -> the switch in shauna's kickstarting her sprialing

in the adult timeline: blackmailing her and the other yjs -> almost all the adult timeline events -> like killing adam and feeding melissa her arm to name a few

#no wonder the writers tried to make him as likeable as possible #but damn it really is just bc of him #i like his character tho for just sticking to shauna despite her crazy #also i am removing so much nuance in jackieshauna and in the autonomy of the other characters whos decisions also furthered shauna along #yellowjackets #jeff sadecki #shauna shipman #yellowjackets spoilers #jackie taylor #jackieshauna

the fact that the teen yj's had to deal with that crushing emotional rollercoaster of hope->despair twice now and both times were punctuated with a death. like laura lee's death and her flying that plane to hopefullu get some help and then that hope exploding in front of their eyes. and then seeing the scientists and a guide and then that guide being brutally murdered (hope literally being killed again) in front of them and then mari dying (idk the actual timegap between these 2 events but i figured they were close enough)

and like the radio(tansponder?) as the 3rd signal of hope. like can we talk about how brave natalie is to try to get it to a place where a signal can be reached after hope is (literally) killed in front of her and it not be a guarantee that it works? but then it does work and the intense feeling of relief she must have felt when it reached someone
