Perhaps if you don't appreciate my methods, you should speak with someone and have your mother's assigned doctor changed - I'd like to see them do everything in their power, which is unlikely, to get her into fit shape. You may need to read up on the stages of grief, Miss Roland. There are several of them and denial is one, it’s most likely your patient’s family is right in the middle of it. Just be glad they’ve not reached anger or bargaining yet.

You're right, I should start handing out cremation leaflets to hasten the process of them finishing all however many stages. And she isn't my patient - a co-worker wasn't up for the challenge of being the bearer of bad news.

I’m sure that a little reassurance from their own doctor wouldn’t do any hard to you or them. What’s the other one’s name? Elliot Park? I have two patients who go see him, and they say that he’s very interactive with his patients.

Oh for Christ's sake, that poor excuse for a man is like a girl entering puberty; too emotional and downright sloppy. There isn't an inch of professionalism within him, so if you're going to compare him to anyone, do it to a patient in the children's ward, not me.

It is alright, I expect you meet many people. It is lovely to re-meet you, as well. I am a writer, which is perhaps one of the few professions that requires a good deal of emotion at times.

I can't say that I'd care all that much, so you can't play that card. My job isn't to rock them to sleep in an abundance of cotton blankets, nor is it in my job description to sugar coat something they knew anyway. That's your job.

I do believe we met on one occasion; I have a penchant for remembering faces. My name is Lena. With a job of that sort, I imagine that it is important to not allow too much emotion to come into play at any point.

I am, are we familiar? So many faces come and go that I question knowing the majority on higher levels. I do - it's sad, I suppose, but only so much emotion can be thrown around where work is concerned.

They're on pretty similar levels right about now, so no. I can bite you, if that's what you want, only I'm positive it'd be rather counter productive since you'd shriek rather than shut up.

Perhaps they are in denial of the news? I imagine that would be hard to hear. Though making a sign with your hands may prove helpful.

Probably, but she's had too many run ins with the reaper to count, it was to be expected. Eh, was kind of a commercial suggestion, I feel like it's needless effort when I have my fingers.
