I just had a realisation for the 'send me a Goes Wrong character combination and I'll talk about it' -- Lucy Grove and Vanessa. I don't think they've EVER interacted? But if they did, what would that look like?

BGBDUIBKLOISJBJ THIS IS SUCH A GOOD COMBO GRAAAGH!

And yes I believe you are right, besides the fact that, while Lucy is in the wheelchair during Peter Pan, Vanessa is one of the stagehands around her (which then again, you don't need to see that as Vanessa I just do so that might not even count) they don't interact at all! This is a wrong I will right with this post.

What is really cool about Vanessa and Lucy is that, in a casual glance by someone far less strange than me, they might seem like similar charcaters who serve the same purpose. Namely being the nervous one of the bunch, who visibly panics at things going wrong. On the surface they may both seem like just Anxious Women. THIS IS WRONG!

These two characters are very distinct in their worries. Lucy's panic and nerves comes from her lack of confidence in herself as a performer, her stagefright as well as the anxieties developed because of Robert's 'coaching' show this well. On the other hand Vanessa is actually very confident when it comes to her ability as a performer, as long as she is well aware of exactly what she is supposed to be performing and has time to practice. It is only in situations thrust upon her in the spur of goes-wrong-ness or at the mere prospect of improvisation that the women gets anything even resembling Lucy's stagefright. That being said I think that both would relate to each other on the front of getting quite scared on stage sometimes under the pressure. Specifically when it comes to Lucy's stagefright I feel like Vanessa (who I think likely had nerves similar growing up, which is why when we first meet her she is working backstage besides clearly having training in some performance art, certainly singing at least) would try and help her but it would be in her own rather intense fashion of saying something like 'oh no it's absolutely nothing to be afraid of, just make sure that you run through your lines when you first wake up, right before bed and maybe when you are brushing your teeth and oh also while you are walking to the theatre and really if you have any free time at all it would be a good idea to-' yada yada. This advice I think Lucy would take on, but it wouldn't do much to stop the baseline fear, tho her memorisation would be immaculate.

Another really interesting aspect of their possible dynamic is that they both have Robert in common. That being they have both been 'coached' in some way by Robert which I think is really really funny. They would likely complain about him together and I think Lucy is an important part of why Vanessa went on to fire Robert as her life coach. Lucy can't escape Robert's shit really, he's her uncle after all, but she can help Vanessa get out of it as well as save the money she is definitely wasting on those sessions.

And I feel like in Roberts stead Vanessa sees herself as a bit of a role model for Lucy, again seeing that nervous child she used to be in her and trying to help her out of her shell. Along the same lines I think Lucy's kindness and positivity would help Vanessa's catastrophisation and panic at plan-changes. They would be really helpful to one another and for Lucy I feel like Vanessa is her idol. Vanessa is her idol and Chris is her mentor is the sort of vision I'm having here which I think is sweet as hell and I think if Vanessa ever fully understood how much Lucy looks up to her, as someone who has overcome nerves herself, it would only encourage her to be more risk taking so she can be an even better role model for her.

OMG WHY DO I HAVE SO MANY THOOOOUGHTS. I want to apologise but people seem to like the long posts so I'll try not to. Safe to say, I think they get on like a house on fire. They both are calm people who are happy to just go out for a cup of tea and have a quiet walk together. They both encourage each other to be better and act as ears to hear issues, Robert related or otherwise. It's a sweet time all round :)

Thank you 1000000 times over for the ask <3 I love these two very much individually never mind slammed together but I have thought about these two quite a bit so it was lovely to formulate my thoughts like this. Hope this was fun!! My inbox is always open if anyone does in fact like my massive rambles :)

whatever you do DONT think about ellie morris crying at the start of the first hell or high rollers live show when the audience started to applaud and!! DONT think about it in conjunction with her saying in a q&a that she was quiet at the start and has grown into loving dnd and loving playing ghoul and everyone hyping her up AND ALSO!! having seen crit role live SHE is now performing dnd like she has watched herself! i implore u to NOT think about any of that unless you also want a massive stomachache!

HOHR LIVE THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS!!

(there’s plot discussion and references to bits i found particularly funny so spoilering this for people who want to wait for the recording!)

queuing was lovely!! thank you to everyone who gave out gifts, and it was so nice to meet some of you on here!!

i have to say i was very lucky (/terrified) with the seats we got, if i had moved my legs i would have kicked ellie 😭

show starts!! the guys all run down the stairs directly past us and there’s a fun pre show bit that’s not in the recording so i’ll try to remember it best i can

(got a recognition hello and a wave from ellie!!)

they all said hello to lots of applause (obviously) then sat down while dave was sort of striding around the stage

(then dave turned to me and gave me a smirky hello and wave #okay)

chris joked that they shaved a shazam on henry backstage and then banged on about towel safety pin precautions

dave outlined what the show was going to look like and then absolutely struggled to get to his seat through the tiny gaps 😭

then gareth pops down to control the mic levels and they start recording!!

(oh also shoutout adam byron for randomly being in the audience)

the show was set in layer three (but in a kind of weird pocket dimension so that stuff contradicting the main story could still happen)

it was eric’s and tootsies play (glengarry glen zombie ofc) he was pissing himself cause thunden was coming and everything had been going wrong (reminiscent of tgws actually)

a lighting rig fell down and we got a fun trevor moment from chris

who at this point had only played fingers cause he could not get the voice right 😭 (in fact gluebrick barely appeared)

there’s a whole load of door shenanigans with knock knock puns

ellie being so sassy with shields (delightful)

they find a letter that karry was writing refusing to work on the production anymore and then she was passed out cause she was drunk?? i think?? doesn’t really get explained i fear

BUT they find white feathers near her and ellie remembers that dave had mentioned a guest at the beginning who had a white costume on (absolutely thrilled with herself)

and then chris and shields decide it could also absolutely have been a goose

they investigate!!

ghoul goes to a goose farm being run by sweet face the baby devourer (such a fucking funny scene)

he’s taken all the geese faces and is wearing them like a jacket for the show and decides he’s going to present as dame judi dench for it 😭😭

(we later get chris’ absolutely diabolical judi dench impression)

this is ultimately unhelpful of course

have to say they did not roll well the whole show

(also pointing out here ellie having to absolutely bend down and peer at her character sheet cause she didn’t have her glasses on :(( although aside from this her posture was alarmingly good)

there’s a red carpet made of blood so ghoul gives henley some galoshes and sunglasses 😭

brad tanner does the interviews and we get a fun one with ghoul

rude paul and papa crumble are arguing with each other and then ghoul gives up and goes to sit in the royal box with rude paul who he’s become besties with

back in the dressing room they’re discussing the play and eric overhears ghoul and henley talking about how he’s a shit actor, he’s heartbroken and turns himself invisible 😭😭

INTERVAL

they spend way to long trying to find a way to make eric visible to themselves 

henley chucks all of tootsies makeup around the room to try and coat eric

tootsie comes back and is fuming and tells gluebrick off for ‘fiddling with my bits’ 😭😭

this then turns into a joke about him wanking in tootsies dressing room (let’s not)

eric is long gone and searching under the stage for clues 

he rolls a nat 20 but i can’t for the life of me remember what he learns

OH they then all go on separate quests to help fix the play as an apology

gluebrick absolutely fails to fix the set trying to use zombies and rats and jam

henley goes to the costume store and finds THE adam meggido (this scene is so funny i won’t spoil it)

ghoul goes back to the goose farm and is sent on a whole quest?? that ends with derek jacobi’s book club?? he doesn’t go though and stays with the gang (this is a fever dream i honestly don’t remember)

also throughout the show ellie was writing down the absolute bullshit that went on as if it was something she actually needed to remember 😭😭 (if i’m in shot in the recording you will see me doing a baffled hand gesture at this)

THIS ABSOLUTE ICON in the audience reminds shields of the spell locate person so they use that to find eric

the guy in the audience does a voice very similar to tim in aag

becomes a joke that yoda is now canon in the hohr universe cause this guy was the only person that knew anything about dnd and the voice 😭

(also pointing out chris whispering everything the audience shouted out back to henry cause he couldn’t hear it ☹️ SO sweet)

they find eric!! he’s on the roof tied up being held by an angel with a mysterious mask on

they take it off scooby do style to reveal BIM (being played by henry shields)

he’s an angel now and was sent to stop the play because celestia wants the blood war to continue cause it keeps order in the rest of the universe 

(the play would have stopped that momentarily for everyone to watch)

oh at some point during this tootsie dies?? i think??

anyway they disarm bim and persuade him to work in the theatre as a stagehand 

the play goes ahead!!

you could tell how thrilled they were doing it in front of people for the first time, and that everyone was so receptive and involved (and pissing themselves) and also that everyone was so lovely and respectful of each other. dave did a very sweet thank you speech at the end and we got some group photos/ video

they leave (mentioning shields smiling down at me and saying a tiny thank you for coming as he walked past cause it was so sweet 😭)

everyone queues for stage door situation (they are seriously so kind for taking the time to meet everyone, i think it was over an hour)

ANYWAY it was absolutely the best night and i am so so excited for the recording to come out!! it was such a funny one shot situation, i reckon it will go down a treat <3

Concept: a drag king performance themed around hook in ppgw. Full coat, full wig full hat the whole works. King strides out on stage looking all swagger, crowd are like who is this pirate diva. Turns out he's here to do a very seriously artistically integral ballad (maybe total eclipse of the heart just for the repeated "turn around"s) and any time they interrupt he has the music stopped and starts arguing with them, thus breaking all the rules of drag in a flaming ball of failure send tweet
