Not to mention, the Slytherins would most likely have my head.
That's if they can get past their hangovers to find where you're hiding.
You know what? I think I will.Â
Normally I'd say the Slytherin common rooms, but they didn't seem to drink a whole lot last night. Try the Gryffindor ones, from what I saw a lot of alcohol was consumed by them.
It really is, and I know first hand how terrible it is but I still want to do it.Â
Then do it, bewitch a pot and pan to float outside one of the common rooms, and hide nearby to watch the reaction.Â
Now I understand why people feel the urge to bang pots and pans when everyone is half dying.
I suppose it's kinda mean to the people that are hungover, and as a Hufflepuff I shouldn't really be doing anything mean. But It's totally worth it.Â
It’s nice. I think I might try this more often.Â
It's doubly nice when everyone else is hungover and you can enjoy their misery.
Am I the only one in this castle who isn’t even a little hungover?Â
Nope. That's part of the whole not drinking thing, not getting hangovers.
Let's Try That Again || Amycus & Elliot
"You watch the quaffle too much” a familiar voice had called out from the stands. A brief glance of aggravation proved the words to be coming from none other than Amycus’ favorite hufflepuff, Something McAllister.
The curly haired boy continued to explain what it was he was doing wrong, only causing Amycus to roll his eyes in disbelief. “And what do you know about quidditch, McAllister? You’re not even on the team and hufflepuff doesn’t exactly have the highest standards”
Hesitating slightly, Amycus played back the words in his head and applied them to his most recent errors.  Admittedly, the advice would have helped. Clenching his jaw slightly as he sighed and cupped both hands at the back of his neck, Amycus again met Elliot’s gaze. “So I’m thinking too much….” He begrudgingly agreed, “That has to be one of the first times I’ve heard that.”
Again waving his wand so the quaffles returned to the air, Amycus braced himself for another goal at keeping. “If this helps me any in the games this year, badger, I owe you a drink.”
Elliot flinched back instinctively when Amycus spoke, even though the boy hadn't said anything especially violent, although it was somewhat rude, it was a built-in reaction to avoid conflict. "I don't try out for the team. I'm not saying I'd get on if I did, but that's at least part of the reason I don't play for Hufflepuff" Elliot replied, his voice trailing off towards the end of the sentence. "And Hufflepuff aren't that bad, we can hold our own in most situations" he added on, feeling a need to stand up for his house.Â
Elliot watched hesitantly as the other boy played back what he had said, waiting for the inevitable backlash from his words, whether that involved Amycus' fists or a series of bludgers flying at him, he couldn't be sure. But if there was one thing Elliot was sure of, is that it was coming. "I uh... really? I mean it's  a pretty common problem with most keepers, they rely on watching everything and not enough on their instincts" Elliot explained.Â
He stopped talking suddenly when Amycus caused the quaffles to rise into the air again, not wanting to be the reason Amycus lost concentration. "I uh.... yeah okay I guess" Elliot called back, slightly confused that the Slytherin had said something even remotely nice to him.
Let's Try That Again || Amycus & Elliot
Final year, final opportunity at winning the quidditch cup. If asked, Amycus would tell anyone that this year was not one to be wasted on trivial things such as homework and detentions that were more or less mandatory. For example, his focus, at the moment, was on creaming all the other houses in the race for the house cup.
Since Amycus had a habit of getting points taken away from slytherin, he decided to do all he could to carry the team through the year. (This was much more exciting than merely answering questions in class.) To accomplish this, however, he’d need to start practicing more. While no snake would ever dream of admitting it aloud, Gryffindor was always a fair challenge.
Seeing that the normal observer for Amycus’ self practices was a little occupied with hating him, he’d have to go alone. How unfortunate that this required extra work. Mounting his broom, Amycus flew up towards the hoops and waited for the bewitched quaffles to begin soaring.
Naturally the first ones were easy enough to handle, but as time stretched on— the more difficult things had become. Amycus was no longer able to fend off ball after ball, and the very realization sent his blood racing even more. “Damn it!!” The boy had shouted after he’d only missed one, punching away the next ball to come soaring towards the hoops. Subsequently the rest fell towards the ground, leaving Amycus suspended alone in the air.
For a moment he sat quietly, an annoyed little gust of air leaving his lips. “I need to be better.” He mumbled, before flexing his hands and preparing to try again.
It was usual for the quidditch pitch to be in use on any given Saturday or Sunday, but Elliot took a gamble that the first Saturday back, especially since there was a ball on tonight, that no teams would have hired out the space for their first training session, and to a certain extent he was right. While no team had hired out the pitch, there was a single boy, presumably a keeper, practising his skills by the far set of hoops when Elliot arrived at the arena.Â
Picking the quidditch pitch for it's peacefulness and solitude, which it has a surprising amount of when nobody else is around, Elliot slipped up into the stands, getting as close to the practising boy as he dared, without the boy realising he was there, before taking out his sketchpad and sketching a few random pieces of scenery. The old tree just past the boundaries, the Gryffindor stand in the north-west corner of the pitch, the pile of quaffles at the base of the goalposts. So far he was satisfied with everything that he had produced, it wasn't his best work, that was definitely true, but nothing stood out as outright wrong, which was a good sign.Â
Turning his attention to the boy by the hoops, Elliot became to sketch him. It was difficult trying to capture the way the boys muscles tensed as he reached out to block a quaffle, or how his chiselled jawline clenched whenever he let, or nearly let, a goal past him. It wasn't until Elliot had almost finished his sketch that he realised who the boy was, with a gasp of recognition Elliot cursed himself silently, wondering why he hadn't noticed it before. A muscled Slytherin quidditch player, practising his keeping skills, who else could it be? Of course it was Amycus Carrow.
Elliot was just about to get up and leave when he heard Amycus scream out in frustration, turning around to face the hoops he saw the boy silently cursing himself, presumably after having let a goal in. "You watch the quaffle too much" Elliot called out to him, instantly regretting the decision. This was Amycus Carrow. The boy was renowned for his violent outbursts, Elliot still bore the slight reminder of the black eye he received last time they had crossed paths. When Amycus turned to look where the voice had come from, Elliot scanned the area around him, desperate for a place to hide, when he found none he continued to talk. "You're a good keeper, but you focus on the quaffle too much. You follow it's path and move to stop it at the last possible moment. You need to trust your instincts. When the quaffle's in motion dive for it." Elliot shouted again, hoping he hadn't angered the other boy.
I’ve been alright, I suppose so too. Quidditch has been consuming a lot of my time and I could barely manage to do my homework.. Just that and other stuffs on my plate but nothing that I can’t handle of.Â
Quidditch does tend to take up a lot of time, yeah. It's not good to ignore your homework y'know, even if it means doing less practice every day to get it done or something.
's alright, mate. No need to stress about it. [chuckles and hands it over] So how are things? I haven't seen you lately.
Things have been okay I guess. Yeah it's definitely been  a while since we last spoke. How have you been?
Uh, hey— It seemed like you dropped this.
Oh uh, thanks. I didn't even realise.Â
I suppose you’re right. I mean, it’s my last year… I should probably go, I guess. That’s really sweet of you, I’m sure you’ll look dashing in whatever you decide to wear. Are you looking forward to it?
If it's your last year then you definitely need to go, like 100% need to go. Oh, thankyou. Yeah I guess it'll be pretty fun, I mean I'm definitely looking forward to it.
I’m sure there’s plenty of people who are well enough prepared, the girls will all look stunning! I’m in the same boat, I haven’t even thought about my dress let alone who I could go with. Alas, I guess it could be a little fun, maybe?
It'll definitely be fun, and it's always a good idea to go to these kind of things. You never know when the school might cancel balls and stuff all together. I'm sure you'll look wonderful whatever you wear so I wouldn't worry about the dress too much.
Go through the years — if they’re short they’re likely a lower year, fourth or fifth maybe? And if they’re a lower year, they’re going to be worried that they chucked water on people in higher years than them, so you look for the ones that look a little more worried than usual.
That makes sense. They'll be especially worried if they knew they threw water on the head boy.
