Usagi was so sure she wasn’t going to get caught eating the last bag of snickers she took out of Falkner’s shopping bag. He had just came back from buying more candy for the trick or treaters, seeing that the candy he originally bought was “nowhere to be found.” He has asked Usagi if she had anything to do with it. But, she couldn’t help but lie and deny the accusation. 

Ah yes, karma sure decided to hit her hard this time.

“ Falker, c’mon! Don’t get so mad. I promise to stop eating them… You can have this bag back, ahhhh. “

Usagi gestured to the house in front of them, clutching her bag of candy in her other hand. The two had decided to go out in costumes, and trick or treat for the hell of it. They were both about to call it a night, until the blonde had stopped them in front of a house so spooky, it had ghosts crying at night. 

“ C’mon! I bet the sign was put in front of the house just for kicks. It’s not like it’s haunted or anything. “

As people would say, curiosity killed the cat. This cat was sure in for a rude awakening.

❛ i hate halloween. ❜

Usagi let out a loud, disappointed cry. She crossed her arms on her chest, and ‘hmph-ed’ slightly. She wasn’t expecting such a… disheartening statement from someone so close to her. It had her crying on the inside.

“ Winteeeeeeeeeeeer! How could you?! You’ve let me down… “

“ I really thought you would enjoy Halloween! It’s one of my favorite holidays, actually. “

Usagi was so excited to show Winter her fully decked out apartment room. She had put up fake spiders, a skeleton on her bedroom door, plenty of fake blood to pass around. It looked like her own mad scientist laboratory, just the horror version. But hearing her say such a thing had Usagi taken back. She hoped that with the eerie holiday coming around, Winter would start to change her mind about Halloween.

“ What do ya’ mean?! If you were walking home, and had to cut through a cemetery to get back home, wouldn’t you be paranoid?! “

Usagi continued to talk into the phone, feeling appalled that Kyo had the nerve to doubt her paranoia. Halloween was just around the corner, and coincidentally, she had to close at work. Unfortunately for her, the closest way back to her place was cutting through the cemetery. It was an area she most likely wanted to avoid, seeing all the sinister spooks seemed to occur at this hour.

“ If I suddenly get cut off from our call, I’m probably dying. I also am blaming you for my untimely death. “

“ R-Really?! Yang, I…  I wasn’t really expecting such a request! “

“ I mean… . O-of course! It sounds like it would be much fun. “

Usagi couldn’t help but inch a bit closer to the blonde, resting her head atop the other’s arm. She slowly inched her hand to Yang’s, hoping she wasn’t looking too obvious that she really wanted this. She was able to link both of their pinkies together, as she felt a huge grin creeping onto her face.

All she had planned for tonight was to binge watch horror movies by herself, while scaring herself in the process. But this new idea involving Yang seemed much better than anything else. In fact, Usagi was more overjoyed she was able to spend time with her than watch any ol’ movie. She just got lucky she was given the chance to do both.

Usagi licked the remaining chocolate off her lips, and gave a slight “heh.” She knew she should’ve felt bad for eating all the treats sitting in the bowl near Azusa’s front door. It had taken them forever to pick out all the bags of candies, since they both decided to shop last minute for Halloween goodies. She couldn’t help herself though; she had such a huge sweet tooth. It was to be expected. 

“ C’mooooon! The trick or treaters can eat the rest! I left like… two bags left. It’s enough to last the entire night! “

“ Because they never listen to me, when I’m telling them to run into the right direction! “

“ They’re always doing the opposite of how to survive! It’s so annoying to watch! “

Usagi may have not been the best fan when it came to horror movies, but she always had some sort of idea of how it would unfold. It always ended with almost everyone dying, while at least one character survived. She was tired of the same ol’ thing happening. That’s why she only stuck to watching her absolute favorites. 

“ One day, a horror movie will involve realistic situations. Maybe, one day! “

Usagi shook her head in frustration and gave Jyushimatsu a frown. She had originally asked him to buy her some halloween decorations for her apartment, seeing she wanted to be more festive, this year. He told her not to worry. An hour passed, and she lets him in, only to find a horrific contraption underneath his arm. 

“ I’m not letting you unleash this thing in here! Who knows what evil spirits you’ll curse upon my poor, lil, apartment… ”

“ Y-You found one to bring?! Oh my gosh—! “

She couldn’t help but step back and eye Ichimatsu for a few moments. She was just kidding when she suggested bringing something spooky to her Halloween party. She meant something like fake, fuzzy spiders to hang on her wall or bloody masks to wear. She never thought something as horrible as an actual ouija board. Then again… This was Ichimatsu she was talking about. He always seemed to surprise her.

“ Looks like I’m gonna be haunted for like the rest of my life once we get this ouija board going… . . Ichi, make sure to plan my funeral after this, alright? ”

“ Or else I’m gonna haunt you forever! ”

“ Do I really hear you doubting me, right now? I told you, for the millionth time, it’s as abandoned as can be! “

Usagi pointed at the eerie house right in front of them, and nodded her head. She had made sure to do some research on the house before bringing Yoosung here.The house had been abandoned for many years, due to a murder that took, causing others to avoid it at all costs. Some had said it was haunted. 

Usagi wanted to see for herself; of course, she didn’t want to go inside, alone. Thus, she brought along the help of one of her trusted companions to come along. 

“ C’mon! Let’s go inside and see what’s up! “

Usagi continued to pout, shaking her head at her friend. Her comment didn’t help much calm Usagi down; in fact, it made her feel more anxious than ever.

“ B-but! I’m pretty sure I saw a shadowy figure following us earlier… . I thought you saw it too! “

The blonde grabbed the other’s arm, burying their face into it. All she wanted to do was make her way back home before her paranoia started to grow rampant.
