He was upset, raging at that. A blizzard swirled around him as he clashed against Elsa. He still wasn’t able to comprehend why he was so angry. So bitter against the girl who had merely stopped believing in herself and blocked herself out. Jack knew it had been his fault as well and her words bit into him like icicles.
They should’ve both taken the blame but now emotions waged wars on each other and Jack couldn’t fight the tears that fell. He was meant to be alone for eternity, destined to never know where he came from or who he was. But Elsa had made it easier.
She reminded him what he truly had to do. Have fun.
The striking words made him pause, the blizzard drowning in the sudden onslaught of snow and cracking ice. The palace shook beneath his feet, throwing his balance off as he gripped the railing. "You couldn’t see me!" He shouted back, as though the argument would aid the situation. "I was abandoned and I spent months waiting outside your window for you to just believe!"
Sobs wrecked him at this point. It wasn’t fair to him that he was always alone. People couldn’t believe in him, ever. At least Elsa could reach out to others. People could see her.
”You have people who care about you! Who can see you! I don’t have that Elsa!” His tone was bitter at this point but it was too consumed by sadness to sound angry. He attempted to compose himself, turning away to wipe at his eyes. "This was a mistake."
She could feel the temperature in the room drop, if that were at all even possible. Gaze flicking around the room her arms lifted to wrap around her chest. Whether to seek warmth she otherwise didn't need, or to comfort herself as she was so used to, she didn't know. Stepping back, her lips parted in shock that was quickly replaced by sadness.
What was she supposed to do? She had only been a child. And he -- It wasn't her fault. Was it?
No, no it -- it couldn't be. Her eyes narrowed as tears stung them but she refused to cry in front of him. Refused to cry for him. "Then why didn't you make me? I was alone in that room for so long and you could have helped but you didn't!"
It wasn't just her fault.
It was his too.
She stilled as he spoke, sobbed before her and her heart clenched. Her eyes closed as she shook her head and stepped forward, head tilted as she reached out for him. "I care." How could he think he was alone when she was right there? Biting her lip, she pulled back. "Coming here, or seeing me?" Regardless of his answer, she knew it would hurt.
