For as long as you can remember, you’ve been able to talk to the people in paintings and pictures. One day, upon entering an art museum, you find a painting that begs you for help.
Anna, your time has come.
mAU: The museum Anna loves to visit recently received a new painting of a queen from back in the olden days. Anna is unspeakably drawn to this painting for several reasons; one due to how breathtakingly majestic the queen appears and two because she looks so sad. Naturally Anna talks to her because she’s always had the habit of chatting with paintings. She asks the woman in painting what her name is. And the woman responds, telling her that her name is Elsa and she needs help getting out of the painting she’s been trapped in for so long. And she knows Anna’s name and thinks she’s her sister?

Like, who did this to Elsa? and is this anna, the reincarnation of arendelle princess crowned, later queen after the mysterious disappearance of her sister?? and How could Anna help the old Queen to get out of the paint that no one else seems to notice that can talk? What about if Anna investigate the history books to find out that it could had been the princess the one who made a curse on her sister to ascend to the throne?

Ahhh, I love this idea so much!! Hm, so this can go many different ways. I’m thinking it starts at the scene where Elsa and Anna argue in the ballroom. Except it doesn’t result in the whole Elsa revealing her powers thing. Instead, Elsa leaves the room shaken but powers contained (though barely). Meanwhile, Anna is so fed up with being denied by Elsa and everything she’s put her through that she storms off in anger and Hans follows as if to comfort her and introduces her to his secret stash of dark magic he brought with him. He convinces Anna to use it to get back at Elsa and together they successfully trap the queen in the painting forever.
As for how to free Elsa from the painting. Perhaps a true love’s kiss? I think Anna being the reincarnation of the princess would be perfect. Perhaps as time passed, Anna started feeling guilty for what she did to Elsa but she didn’t know how to fix it and vowed she wouldn’t rest until she did. She died, and since then has been reincarnated multiple times, searching for… something, but never quite knowing what. Until she came across that painting in the museum.
Alright! what about this other situacion where it was actually an accident? Elsa didnt revealed her powers in the ballroom, Anna follows her to tell her all she thinks about her (the bad things) and its only the two of them, Elsa’s magic get out of control and because I had read a post about mirrors I need to include them in the accident and I dont know how Elsa ends as a paint. Anna feels guilty for what happened for the rest of her life and yeah, it start there.
Or like you say, after things with Elsa didnt go right, Hans convinced Anna to use dark magic on her sister, but after that, she gets scared and blame Hans, so he gets arrested, and swears to get revenge on her someday, although that day never came in his life. And Anna is still traped in all this guilt, all the things she did wrong. She keeps Elsa’s paint, she swears to herself she will find a way to get her sister out of there, but she CANT talk to Elsa, and Elsa its only a paint at the time, trapped in her own world.
The reincarnations of Anna has always had something to do with the paint of the mysterious Lost Queen, all the time she gets so obsessed with the paint and the history of it, like she needs to know more about it, she needs to reveal what happened to the Lost Queen. All of this gave power to the paint, and eventually she could comunicate with the later reincarnation of Anna.
Maybe it could be in a futureAU, one where the books had been forgotten and everything is in the net but not all history of the humanity and librarys are something rare to find, and Anna is a historian student in a world who is always looking at the future and forgets the past?
Still lets add to the true love’s kiss some magic artefact and other disney characters with magic to help Anna with all this mess.

Ooh, and random potential side drama. Someone can steal the painting or a large fire breaks out in the museum and Anna rushes in to save it! It could be like the big sacrifice she made in the movie. And maybe that sacrifice is what breaks the spell OR after rescuing the painting she kisses it out of relief and then the spell is broken.
OHHH THAT!!! It could be Hans reincarnation because of what happened! And… what about if that kiss its actually what made them able to talk to each other? I mean it could be the last bead of emotional energy it was need to start braking the curse, and so thats when they start talking with each other… its only a posibility… but, if something else happened after that and Anna’s investigation about Elsa’s past happened, something that could break the curse a little more letting Elsa out of the paint for just a little while, like in the nights, just like a night in the museum haha and thats where Anna would start to understend her romantic feelings for Elsa, so she could learn that Elsa was actually Princess Anna’s true destined love, that would add some little drama at first but it would be just that because they arent related any more, so Anna could accept those feelings.
