Seeing everyone's fanart of Elsa and the new villain is like seeing all those Elsacest fanarts from years ago-- but now its like 50% actually possible.
.
Expect the unexpected I guess, never stop having faith for your ships--
Hiiii, mini story time from a random stanger on the internet, so I guess there is no ask, just something I wanted to share as your blog has been a comfort for me on my corner of the internet.
I watched Frozen when I was waaaay younger and before I realized I was a girl and before I had access to the internet, and it was always something that stuck with me growing up even though I rarely got to watch it, my family despised the movie so I always enjoyed it in secret but I never understood why "Why do I like the princess movie, Dad always says that a boy shouldn't like it" and why "do I like both characters and ship them". So I hid that I like the movie from everyone, friends and family cause i thought "Who would understand wanting to be a girl?" "Who would understand having a relationship like Elsa and Anna's". And I hated myself deeply cause I didn'tknow what was wrong with me (Can you tell that I wouldve deeply connected to Elsa's story and themes without subconsciously realizing it)
Only later in life, nearly 10 years after the movie came out did I learn what it meant to be trans (the school system here failed me hard) and did I realize that I had HUUUUGE gender envy from both sisters, but especially Elsa. And for my first and current relationship I have an AMAZING girlfriend who I DEEPLY connect with and one day I had the courage to ask to put on Frozen and we both kinda realized we both like the movie for the same reasons and wished we had a connection like what Elsa and Anna have before we met. And its only really deeped our love for one another cause it felt like we final found our sister in one another.
Thank you for listening to my love note to Elsanna <3.
Thank you for sharing it with me, anon, and I am happy for both you and your girlfriend.
“so about that birthday kiss”

Headcanon/AU(?) - In any world where Celine is a kind of demon (gumiho, queen of demons, bonghwang, etc) she has been able to hide her demon self for years and years until the moment that Rumi/the girls are in trouble. The second she hears them scream or realizes that they need her, all rules go out the window and Celine’s main priority becomes keeping them safe, even if that means revealing her true self.
I’m picturing it like the girls are in trouble, and at first Celine arrives on the scene as a Hunter. Swords out, taking down demons with brutal efficiency. Proving that she is their mentor for a reason.
But then a demon gets one of them by the throat, arms long enough that kicks and flailing punches can’t reach the demon. And Celine watches in horror as her girl’s soul starts to travel into the demon’s mouth.
She sees red.
The girls see yellow.
The demon doesn’t see anything. His head gets ripped off before he even knows what hit him.
I'd like to image that it's Mira simply because it shows that Celine has come to value her and Zoey as much as she values Rumi. She would do the exact same thing for all of them, not just one particular person.
---
The demon dies and, at first, everyone assumes it was just Celine being Celine. She wasn't Korea's sole hunter for generations for no reason.
But then they see a demon. A demon in Celine's clothes, that kind of looks like Celine, but is very much NOT human, growling at the remaining demons like they were the ones who nearly killed one of the hunters.
Celine has spent so long learning strategy and the best way to attack an opponent but, in that moment, she's looking to hurt them. No best way, no moving around debris to make sure she doesn't get hurt, no checking for civilians: the demons just have to die. That is her ONLY objective.
Meanwhile, Rumi and Zoey are pulling Mira to the side (because nearly losing your soul takes a lot out of you) and just watching Celine, or who they think is Celine, ruthlessly go after these demons until those who can, flee back into the demon realm.
(Because I’m partial the the gumiho Celine au)
Celine doesn’t look like a demon the girls are used to seeing. She’s got eyes and ears like a fox, notable fangs bared as she snarls - snarls - at the remaining demons. Multiple tails swish angrily behind her, and claws have sprung from the tips of her fingers. And what’s even stranger: the remaining demons look more scared of her now than they did before.
The resulting bloodbath gave them an answer.
(Background: I think Celine did get the fox starved out of her by her mentors when she was a kid, but they were less hostile about it and when the last of them died, she gave the bead back to Celine. That particular mentor had always felt uneasy about what they did. She had also experienced a stint of being the only hunter and knew the toll it takes, so she returned that piece of Celine’s soul with the instruction to use it only when being a hunter isn’t enough. Celine resisted the temptation for years, but as she watched Mira fading in that demon’s clutches, she couldn’t anymore. I also like to think gumiho operate somewhat separate from other demons, and as a result, most other demons are wary of them. Gumiho don’t have an allegiance either way, and as a result can be dangerous to Gwi-ma’s demons)
(I like the idea that gumihos kind of exist outside of Gwi Ma's demons. They don't really have any allegiance to him and kind of just operate on their own, doing whatever they want. It's why hunters tend to leave them alone unless they happen to find one attacking people).
(I also wanna pair this with what @kirbytiff said in the comments)
By the time the battle was over, a few demons had been able to land one or two hits on Celine but nothing that she didn't instantly attack them for in retaliation. Out of the over twenty demons who attacked them that night, only three managed to get away and retreat back to the demon realm.
The battle had only been over for a few moments when Celine's ears snapped to attention and she turned her head towards Rumi---Zoey was still in the back helping Mira stand on her feet---who was holding out her hands like she was almost afraid of Celine. She managed to get within a few feet of Celine before her eomma mentor winced in pain and grabbed her side, revealing a growing bloodstain on her hip. She collapsed to the floor watching Rumi just stare at her and look back at Zoey and Mira.
It’s actually Mira who makes the decision. “What are you standing there for? Help her!”
No one questions it. Rumi just moves, springing into first aid training that had been taught to her by the woman currently bleeding out on the ground. She tries to ignore the fact that the hiss of pain Celine makes the moment Rumi presses down sounds more like a growl.
They don’t speak. Rumi just focuses on the immediate emergency in front of her. But as she works, she can see the threads of the Honmoon stitch Celine’s skin together. So clearly she’s not a normal demon: the Honmoon has decided Celine is one of its Chosen.
Once Celine is no longer in danger of bleeding out, Rumi loops an arm around her and helps her onto unsteady legs. It’s a slow walk home, with both Celine and Mira unable to walk themselves. Rumi has plenty of time to process the fact that one of Celine’s tails had been wrapped around her leg ever since they started off.
(First of all awww)
Second,
Once they manage to get through the compound doors, Rumi sets Celine down on the couch while Zoey takes Mira back to her room. For the most part, Mira is fine—health wise—it’s the shock of her soul leaving her body that’s left her still unable to really move. So far she seems okay so Rumi hopes that a few hours of sleep will set her right.
Celine’s injury is already healing nicely—another thing that should be set right by morning—and aside from one or two minor scratches she looks completely fine. Save for the ears, eyes, claws, fangs and tails that now cover her body. After she’s set down on couch, Rumi leans down to look at Celine’s new demon features. They aren’t from the honmoon and they don’t resemble any kind of secret Honmoon power up that she can recall being taught about.
“She’s a gumiho.”
Rumi’s eyes land on Zoey, “A what?”
“You don’t know what a gumiho is?”
“No.”
“It’s a type of demon. I thought they were fake because Celine never mentioned them as one of the demons we would encounter. I guess the reason she didn’t was because….she knew we never would encounter the one gumiho in Korea.”
“Celine’s…a demon.”
Celine unfortunately had been knocked out by exhaustion following her (absolutely insanely badass) beat down on those demons and her near brush with death. So she was not awake as the reality of the situation washed over Rumi.
"She lied. She fucking lied to me!"
"Whoa, hey," Zoey interjects, "It's not like you ever asked if she was a demon, right?"
Rumi huffs in annoyance. "No," she grumbles, "But why would I?"
"Well... Technically, this isn't lying," Zoey points out.
"Who cares? And why are you so nonchalant about this?" Rumi demands in frustration.
"Hey, I'm plenty chalant!" Zoey fires back, "But like... She just saved our butts. So... Maybe there are nice demons?"
"Demons are never nice," Rumi returns with venom in her voice. But she swallows the rest down in a bitter gulp as she looks over Celine again. "Right?" Her hand reaches for her left bicep unconsciously, gripping tight.
Zoey shrugs unhelpfully. "All I know is that Mira was almost a demon's lunch, but Celine went all scary Fox Lady and saved her," she states simply, "Maybe most demons aren't nice, but Celine is."
Rumi swallows tightly. She carefully reaches out, the tip of her finger ever so gently prodding one of the fox-like ears, only for it to flick at the disturbance. She certainly didn't...seem dangerous.
"She and Mira will probably be out for a while," she decides as she rises and begins to head for the door, "Keep an eye on her."
"Where are you going?" Zoey asks.
"To the study," Rumi tells her with a grimace, "I need to find out all I can about gumiho."
(I'm not sure if we ever set a time period for this, but I was picturing it happening while the girls were still training. Like, they were old enough to start hunting on their own, with Celine nearby to assist if needed.)
(I think that’s a good time period. Celine being around then makes more sense and it would heighten tensions between them because Rumi now wants to know why Celine was so against her being a demon growing up when Celine herself is one as well)
Another five hours pass before Rumi returns to the compound from the small library. Zoey is asleep when she comes back, her back against the wall and head down but facing Celine. No one would fault Zoey for falling asleep, it’s been a long day, but Rumj does feel a slight ping of anger because if Zoey had been awake she would have noticed Celine was awake.
“How long have you been up?”
“An hour or so.” Celine rose from the couch with the same quiet voice Rumi had to keep herself from waking Zoey, “You have questions I imagine?”
“Have you ever eaten a heart or liver?”
Celine physically flinched back. Her tails flashed behind her, “No. I haven’t. Is that really your first question?”
“When I’ve been lied to for 20 years? Yes. That’s my first question.” Rumi hissed. Maybe her own fangs were starting to come out because Rumi swore she saw Celine’s fangs and claws extend, “I saw the other demons. They were terrified of you….What….What are you?”
“Not,” Celine looked down at Zoey, “Not here, Rumi. Let’s talk outside and let her sleep.”
Rumi follows Celine out to the backyard. One thing that stood out instantly was that she could read Celine now. Before, Celine had been a pillar of stoicism: a master of keeping her true feelings under lock and key. But now with her ears partially flattened and her tails swishing anxiously, Rumi could see what she was really feeling. Fear. Stress. The kind of things Celine had never been before.
But she had also never been a gumiho before.
Rumi shuts the back door of the house and Celine turns to face her. “The first thing you should know is that I wasn’t lying. Not…not completely,” she begins, clawed hands fiddling before her.
Rumi crosses her arms. “How were you not lying to me?” she demands, an eyebrow raised with biting skepticism.
“I truly wasn’t a gumiho for all of your life, and before it,” Celine explains, “I was born one, but… There is a procedure. To fix it. I underwent it once, and I can do so again.”
Rumi narrowed her eyes. “A procedure? Like how the Golden Honmoon would fix me?”
“No this…this is different.” Celine drew a deep breath and released it in one long, shuddering breath. “Gumiho are different from other demons. We don’t have the same connection to Gwi-Ma as the ones we as hunters fight. In the past, gumiho were more dangerous and, yes, did often attack people for their organs but… That’s not how it is now. Once the hunters grew stronger, most gumiho stopped attacking people so as not to draw their ire. Some even tried to help them, and as a result, drew the ire of Gwi-Ma. And so the remaining gumiho started to hide. Some fled Korea altogether, while others…figured out a way to disguise themselves permanently.”
Rumi huffs and taps her foot. “So…what, there’s like spell or something?” she asks, feeling something more than frustration brewing inside. Of course Celine is a special demon, one that can just cure themselves without the need for a nearly impossible feat.
Celine winces, her ears flattening further. “Starvation,” she utters, “Starve the fox, and only a human remains.”
Rumi’s blood runs cold.
“You starved yourself?”
“More accurately my mentors did but yes. I starved out the demon and I can do it again. I just need to carve out some time from the company. I can explain my absence with sickness then starve the demon away for a few months and return without issue.”
Rumi jaw drops with shock. Sure, she’s always known Celine is capable of extreme measures and has been willing to do a lot to herself to continue being a hunter but this was something else. This was something so…inhuman that Celine was describing as perfectly human.
“You can’t do that to yourself.”
“Why not?” Celine asked, genuine confusion in her voice, “It takes a while for it to work, but it will help me keep my gumiho side down.”
Rumi ran a hand through her hair, letting out a choked laugh, “Can’t you just….Appear human? Do the ears and tail not go away?”
Celine took a look at her tails, “They do. I can make all my features disappear and reappear at will but they’ll always be there, under the surface. Starvation eliminates the possibility that they could come back when I’m not even thinking about it. It eliminates my demon side.”
“You…you still can’t do that to yourself! It’s horrible. No one deserves that.” Rumi cried.
Celine let out a sigh, “I understand it can be hard to see,” She stepped forward just enough to rest a hand on Rumi’s shoulder, “but it will be best for everyone. Things will go back to normal and we can forget all about this.”
“I don’t think I can just forget about you being a demon, Celine.” Rumi whispered, pushing herself away from Celine and turning her back on her, “No matter what, I’ll always see you growling at those demons and—and you have tails! How am I supposed to just forget about that?” Finally, Rumi turned to face her mentor and what she saw made her stomach drop.
Celine’s ears pin against her head and her tails wrap around her. It didn’t take a genius for Rumi to realize Celine was terrified. Of what she wasn’t exactly sure about but the terrified part she knew for a fact. A fact that somehow grew even more certain when Rumi noticed Celine was hyperventilating.
“Celine? Celine!”
"I...I can't..." The words fell from Celine's mouth more than actually were spoken. Clawed hands grip at the fabric of her shirt over her chest. Wide yellow eyes stare forward at something Rumi can't see.
"Celine!" Rumi cries again, wanting more than anything to rush to her mentor's side but she had been taught better. Never approach a distressed demon. You don't know what they'll do.
It hurts that those words now applied to the woman who taught them to her.
The back door opens, and Rumi whirls around to spot Zoey and a sleepy Mira making their way toward them.
"What happened?" Zoey demands as they approach.
"I...I don't know!" Rumi replies, "She told me that she can reverse this by starving herself, and I told her I'll still always know the truth, and..." She gestures helplessly to her mentor mom currently trapped in the claws of a panic attack.
"Ok. That's a lot to unpack," Mira states bluntly.
Zoey doesn't say anything. She just sucks in a deep breath and starts walking toward Celine.
"Zoey!" both Mira and Rumi cry.
Zoey ignores them, and instead pauses about an arm's length away from the gumiho. "Hey Celine? It's me, Zoey," she says softly, "I need you to do something for me, ok? Can you look around and tell me five things you see. It can be anything."
At first, Celine doesn't respond. But after a few tense moments of strained breathing, her eyes flick first to Zoey, then around the yard. "I..." she stammers, her voice brittle and so uncharacteristically weak, "I see...you. And Rumi. Mira. The...the house. The grass."
"Ok, good!" Zoey continues, "Now four things you can hear."
"...my own heart. Uh...the...the windchimes. Frogs, in the pond. Crickets."
"Good! Now three things you can smell?"
"Mira's perfume. Dew on the grass. The gochugaru peppers - they're almost ripe."
Zoey's eyes widen in surprise as she spins around, spotting the peppers in the garden several meters away. "Wow! Ok, your sense of smell is really good," she notes, "Two things you can feel?"
"The air: it's...it's a little chilly. And the ground, under my feet."
"Ok, last one: one thing you can taste."
Celine clicks her tongue to the roof of her mouth, as if trying to get a sense of what she could actually taste if there was no food present. "The air, again. It's...fresh? Morning air."
Zoey smiles at her, her warm and cheery smile that always felt like the sun. "Good! Now, can you breathe again?"
Celine releases a shuddering breath, but continues to breathe at a normal rate. "Yes. I... Thank you, Zoey," she sighs, before her eyes dart upward to spot Rumi and Mira hovering nearby, "I...I apologize. I... I don't know what..."
"You had a panic attack," Mira states the obvious.
Rumi frowns, her fists clenched at her sides. "Celine... You do know that even if you are a demon... I won't love you any less, right?" she says tentatively, "Because you're still you, demon or no. You still saved us, even as a demon."
"Rumi..." Celine begins, cautioning and wary.
"I don't hate you, either!" Zoey interjects, "I actually think this is really cool! I mean, you put those other demons in their place! They were shaking in their boots!"
Celine shakes her head. "That's not..."
"You saved me." Mira's soft statement shuts Celine up. Mira tenses, adding, "I could feel it: my soul leaving my body. It...it hurt and it didn't, you know? At first I was scared, but then everything went numb. Part of me knew I should be afraid, should keep fighting, but something else was telling me to just...let it happen. And then...there you were. And I started feeling again."
Celine's ears flick up for a fraction of a second before folding sadly once more. "Mira..."
"Do you know how many adults I've had in my life who just...ignored me?" Mira demands with tears in her eyes, "Too fucking many! Too many who didn't care about the things that I liked or if I had something I wanted to show them or if I just wanted to do something with them. Too many told me to behave a certain way because they said so, or to not like certain things because they weren't what they wanted me to like. I was going numb, it was the only way to not feel hurt by their rejection of who I was. But then there you were."
She sniffles, furiously wipes the tears from her eyes. "So I don't give a fuck if you're a demon!" she declares, "You're the best guardian I've ever had. That hasn't changed because of this. I don't...I don't want to lose you because of this."
And then something none of them ever thought they'd see happened: tears formed in Celine's eyes. "I...I don't want that either," she utters, "To lose you. Any of you. I...I can't lose you."
“Then don’t lock yourself in the basement for months and starve yourself.”
“I’m a demon.” Celine argued, “This,” She gestured to herself, “is my biggest fault. Even if gumihos can’t be controlled by Gwi Ma, it’s still too much of a threat to have this part of me so out in the open. What happens if my gumiho instincts activate during an event? Or during one of your concerts? It would be disastrous for you girls.” And she could not be the reason Huntrix failed.
“Celine, none of us care if you’re a demon.” Mira knelt down to sit next to Celine, a hand on her shoulder. The tear tracks still fresh on her face, “We care that you don’t almost kill your self trying to hide what you are.”
“I appreciate that, Mira, I do. But this isn’t even my full form.” Celine chuckled, “I’m not a good hunter like this nor am I a good mentor. There’s no purpose to me if I let my demon side run wild.”
“How does being a gumiho impact you being our mentor?” Rumi asked.
“And not a good hunter? You destroyed those demons back there better than any of us could.” Zoey said, “You defeated the demons. Isn’t that what a demon hunter is supposed to do?” The lyricist sat down on the other side of Celine leaving only Rumi standing.
“Girls, I just…it’s better for everyone that I don’t let myself be a demon. I have to be better.” Her tails fluffed behind her, “If I let my gumiho form run wild then there is no telling what could happen. I’m telling you, this is the better alternative. It’s a few months of suffering for the destruction of a demon.”
Mira and Zoey both launched themselves forward before Celine could say anything more. They wrapped their arms around Celine and pulled her close into a hug. Whether on purpose on not, Celine’s tails wrapped around both of them.
“Can you wait? Let us try to talk to you?” Zoey asked.
“Girls—“
“Please.” Celine isn’t sure when she last heard Mira’s voice so quiet.
“Okay. I’ll wait.” She whispered, receiving another squeeze from the two.
“Rumi?” Zoey extended her hand to the purple haired singer, “Come join the hug.” Rumi remained frozen.
“Celine?” Celine opened her eyes to Rumi, “What did you mean when you said this isn’t your true form?”
Celine is cagey at first, shifting uncomfortably as she glances away. "Well... I'm sure you looked into what a gumiho actually is," she begins hesitantly.
It's Zoey, of the three of them, who reacts first. She snaps to attention, leaning away from the hug so she can snatch Celine but the shoulder, eyes wide and an excited smile forming on her face. "Please tell me that means what I think it means," she states eagerly.
"Wait, I'm out of the loop here," Mira interrupts, "What's a gumiho?"
"It's a fox demon," Zoey explains, "Hence, you know..." She pokes at one of Celine's ears, earning herself an annoyed flick and a warning glare.
Mira takes half a second to process that information. "You don't mean..."
"Please show us!" Zoey begs, putting on her best, wettest sad puppy eyes.
"I...I don't think..." Celine tries, looking more flustered than anything else, "It's...it's not safe."
"You want to get rid of it, anyway," Mira argues, "Might as well show us now while you can."
Celine tries to hold strong, mostly by avoiding their pleading expressions.
"Show us."
Her gaze shifts to Rumi, who still stands away from them but with the kind of rigidity one would expect of brittle metal right before it gives way. Rumi has her hands clenched tight around her biceps, shoulders hunched and muscles tense. But she's staring at Celine with strong determination.
"We're hunters in training," Rumi continues, "And we're old enough to handle it. If this 'true form' of yours really is that dangerous, if it's so bad that you think it's better to starve yourself for it, then show us."
Celine holds her gaze for a moment, then sighs. "Very well," she relents.
She gets up, backing up a few paces to give herself some space. She casts her girls one final glance, taking them in with a soft smile. Then she closes her eyes and draws a deep breath.
Bright scarlet patterns appear on her cheeks, neck, and arms. They aren't like the usual purple demon patterns, that are jagged like something broken. These ones flow in beautiful spirals, glowing warm like a fire in a hearth. They almost seem to lift off of Celine's skin, spinning around her form and enveloping it in golden light. They expand outward, shifting in size and shape into something bigger, and something far less human.
Then, as quickly as they appeared, they fade, sinking back into Celine's body. But this time, it isn't skin that was adorned by the scarlet patterns: it's fur. Everything that made Celine, well, Celine, is gone, replaced by that of a huge black fox. Well, her new ears and tails are recognizable, now tipped at the ends with white fur. There are other streaks of white on the fox's head and neck that approximated where Celine's hair had been going grey, too. But her once yellow irises are now just yellow eyes. There are no fangs nestled amongst human teeth, just fangs. No hands tipped with claws, but paws.
The girls stand in shock and awe, staring at the giant fox with wide eyes and jaws on the ground. "C...Celine?" Rumi stammers, wondering if the fox was still her guardian, or if she really was just a fox.
The fox tilts her head, tails flicking and ears cocked in curiosity. Then an unmistakable (and slightly uncanny) smile forms on her face. "Hello, girls," she breathes. And it was Celine's voice. That much had not changed.
"Giant puppy!" Zoey squeals, throwing caution to the wind and launching herself into Celine's soft fur.
"Oh, that is sick," Mira comments with an approving nod, "That is definitely going to be an album cover."
Celine chuckles as they inspect her new form. Then her golden eyes shift to Rumi, and her ears flatten. "Rumi?" she asks apprehensively.
Rumi doesn't say anything. She just steps closer, holding one hand out. She slowly sets it down on the top of Celine's head, between the ears, and runs her fingers through the soft fur. Celine can't hold back anymore, and pushes forward, pressing her giant head right into Rumi's chest. Rumi can't hold back anymore either, and hugs Celine tight in return.
"Don't change this," Rumi whispers, desperate as she clings to the long fur along Celine's neck, "I love you like this."
Natural foxes can't cry, not for emotional reasons, anyway. But fox demons can, and in this case, certainly did.
Now Celine can go to Comic Con
Them. Queens.
