Valkyrie

1/4 - Enter 'Bethma Village'

The difference in Elrios's environment was a huge obstacle for Rose. Every time she moved to a region, she had to get used to a new environment. She needed to find a solution for this issue for a smooth investigation.

2/4 - Bethma - Clear 'Bethma Lake' [0/1]

Having difference in environment meant that elements are also effected. Rose decided to diversify the elements she uses in her bullets. Grenades and explosives should also help greatly. Let's experiment right away.

3/4 - Enter 'Bethma Village'

Though it was easy to modify the bullets and explosive, there was one problem. The inventions were too heavy. Rose invented Nitro Motor to cover for her mobility, but there wasn't anything she could use as a power source. 'There's no helping it. Here, Rose! Take this!' Rose's eyes widened in surprise looking at the El Shard Zero handed to her.

4/4 - Bethma - Clear 'Dragon's nest' [0/1]

Nitro Motor using the El shards as the power source functioned well. Now she has the bullets that matches the environment, firepower, and mobility. Rose smiled with satisfaction after attempting an ambush from midair. Only thing that remains is field testing.

1/5 - Altera - Clear 'Nasod Foundry' [0/1]

She was now used to handling dark magic. Though she was satisfied with its destructive power, there was something that bothered her.

Though she thought she was imagining it, it was clear the more she used it, that there was a clear error in the formula of magic. She needs to confirm her findings in battle.

2/5 - Altera - Clear 'Altera Core' [0/1]

Aisha frowned. Every time she used magic, the lacking mana was supplied from somewhere else, but she had no idea where that mana was supplied from.

One thing is for sure, this was the difference between dark magic and dark mana. Everything requires a price. Let's test out more theories against enemies.

3/5 - Enter 'Feita Village'

Aisha realizes that the dark power that she is using is similar to black magic that she saw in ancient tomes. She knew that magicians used black magic to supplement the lacking mana. But the theory wasn't in the ancient tomes.

Perhaps there might be clues she can find in Feita, where there are relics from the Elrian Kingdom era.

4/5 - Feita - Clear 'Shrine of Dedication Entrance' [0/1]

Aisha finds another ancient tome in Feita, where she learns that black magic borrows lacking mana by creating a contract from a being from another dimension.

Though it was forbidden in Elrian Kingdom, as they worshipped the Goddess, it was found after the Great Explosion to survive.

'But if I can appraoch the origin with this method.'

Aisha headed to the shrine of Dedication Entrance for a contract as the ancient tome details.

5/5 - Feita - Clear 'Underground Chapel' [0/1]

The fact that she was receiving mana already means that the contract is already half complete the moment she started using black magic. Instead of settling for what she has now, she wants to see what is giving her the missing mana and take control of black magic completely.

You need to risk more if you want power! Aisha smiled and aimed for her staff. Let's participate in the last battle required for the contract.

5/5 - Clear El Tower Defense 5 times [0/5]

The mysterious voice asked her, 'What do you really want to do?'

For all that she advised others to believe in their own dream, or have new goals, she herself never really thought about what she herself wanted to do.

With the El restored, the connection with the spirit world was also restored. She have completed her initial mission, but she didn't feel fulfilled. Restoring the connection between this world and the spirit world wasn't purely her goal, but a mission she received from the Elder. Then what is that she truly desired?

When she was still little, she always wanted to travel the world. But she buried that desire when she failed her friend. She didn't think she deserved to have her own dream. But… She couldn't stop her journey now. Her friends, the El Search Party, grew precious to her. She wanted to travel with them until the very end. What she really wanted… Is a 'Future with everyone together'.

The mysterious voice said, 'You deserve it'.

Even if she didn't, she would open up a new future that she has never sought for herself before.

Rena headed towards the sanctum. 'She' was waiting for her answer at the heart of the sanctum.

1/4 - Enter 'Bethma Village'

I need something to make me stronger.

After Wally ran away in Elder, Elsword thought about the power he wished to pursue.

The sword technique that he knew was not that helpful as he was running away.

Perhaps he would find his answer in this new place. He sees Bethma Village through the valley.

2/4 - Bethma - Clear 'Bethma Lake' [0/1]

Elsword is sick of his enemies running away, and being taken by surprise is not excuse.

What he needs is a technique useful in a real battle. Even if it diverges from the traditional path, he needs a way to surely win against his enemies.

Though he's not sure how this would work yet, he might get a better idea through battle.

3/4 - Chat with Chacha Buch, the town Alchemist of Bethma Village

Facing against multiple enemies with one sword is not easy. Maybe using both arms, or using more swords would help dealing with more situations?

Before his idea fades away, a strange voice echoed inside his head.

'I hear a voice yearning for power within you.'

The voice was coming from an unclaimed box that they found in the bandit's hideout. Let's ask Bethma Alchemist Chacha Buch about this phenomena.

4/4 - Bethma - Clear 'Dragon's nest' [0/1]

Chacha Buch explains this is the legendary Conwell's box.

If he uses this special box that changes shape depending on the user's will, it should be possible to actually try out the battle methods he thought about earlier.

Conwell says your mind is finally strong enough to talk to it, but you still need to prove your worth in order to use its power. Let's defeat the enemies at Dragons Nest and prove your worth.

5/5 - Clear El Tower Defense 5 times [0/5]

What do you truly wish for?

Noah overcame countless trials and still kept a smile on his face with a sliver of hope. The reason why that was possible was a mix of Noah's endless effort, and his clear goal to 'gain back the body that was stolen from his brother'

Noah remembers his past 'clearly'. His brother 'who stayed by his side' despite the nasty glances and discrimination towards a 'mixed-blood family'. How can he not love him?

The precarious happiness didn't last long, and a series of incidents ripped them apart, but now, after 300 years, Noah 'miraculously reunited with his brother'. Though 'brother' lost his body, Noah believed and promised that he will get it back. Revenge towards Henir's Order that turned his 'brother' like this and 'stole his form'. That burned Noah's passion.

If I complete my revenge, get my brother's body back, and see my brother smile happily again. If he pats my head with his warm hand again. That alone will be enough to make me happy. Until then… I cannot stop.

Noah headed towards the sanctum. 'He' was waiting for his answer at the heart of the sanctum.

Hazy Delusion

1/3 - Clear 'House of Rosso's Laboratory' [0/2]

When he learns the truth about Clamor's past at the House of Rosso's lab, Noah feels dejected.

So many people suffered for a long time because he looked away from the present. Was that true for his brother as well? Noah kept repeating his apologies until the test subjects entered a deep slumber when he finally made up his mind. He cannot stop his revenge against the Order. He must move forward.

2/3 - Clear 'Depths of Temple of Time' [0/2]

Noah wakes up again from the alter inside the ruins with cold sweat. Noah grabs his head from the long nightmare.

Everything that happened recently feels far away like it happened in a dream. Or, perhaps, it was all a dream. All the past that slowly comes back is scrambling inside his mind, making it hard to determine what is real and what is a dream.

Noah feels the need to check and heads to the basement. If what happened is real, then the relic would still be there at the basement.

3/3 - Clear 'Clamor's Memory' [0/1]

Noah tries to save Clamor inside Clamor's memories, but fails every time. Even though he knows he cannot change anything that happens inside the relic as it all happened in the past, Noah can't stop.

What grounded him was hope that it might change, but the unchanging past seemed to tell him that there's no hope. That he will be unable to change anything.

Seeing Clamor welcoming him, despite not recognizing him. Noah finally breaks down and confesses everything.

Clamor inside the relic is taken aback, but realizes everything Noah said is true. And Clamor freed the poor bird called Noah that was caged in the past.

When he opened his eyes again, Noah felt anew, even inside the ruins without any light. It was still scary and nothing was certain, but he felt like he would have good dreams from now on.

Noah got up again.He needs to save Yuria and her family, and wake up Clamor. He wants to learn more magic, too.

He feels like everything will be fine this time.

Second Dejection

1/3 - Clear 'Moonlight Hill (Day) (Uphill)' [0/1]

Noah wishes to know exactly how everything changes in his second life, so he decides to follow Titania on the way to find the ingredients for the cure. While battling monsters, Noah feels a strange sense of deja vu as he watches Titania fight, but shakes it off.

Though he feared it was a repeat of the past, this time, he managed to save Yuria and the camp.

Noah felt a small potential from the small change. Though it's scary and he's still apprehensive, perhaps he can change something this time.

2/3 - Read the Old Journal ('Someone's Lab')

Perhaps it was the uncertainty he felt watching Titania, but Noah's power becomes unstable and he has a harder time controlling his power. Clamor gives him tips about magic that can materialize his unstable power and Noah hopes this too, becomes a new possibility.

But… How should he move forward?

From endless apprehension and dejection, the fact that Noah was able to save Yuria and the camp served as a sliver of hope, but still, Noah was unable to completely shake off his negative feelings.

A relationship that that was formed for the first time, magic he's learning for the first time, and his power that's still unstable. Too many things changed to be happy about what's better than before, and all those things caused Noah to still suffer apprehension.

3/3 - Clear 'Moonlight Hill (Day) (Uphill)' [0/1]

Clamor reassured Noah that his power should stabilize once he becomes more familiar with magic, but is that true? Perhaps he's going the wrong direction. No, did he even want to move forward?

He knows he must, but his feet are glued to the ground.Z

If it's possible, he wishes to push back on revenge and hope this moment lasts forever.

Noah hides his desire to settle now and avoid his goals and began to slowly move on.

I know I keep making posts like this.

Sorry! Genuinely. I started a new job recently, which I will not be getting into, but know that it's great it just requires a lot of energy.

After I post Morpheus, I'll be going on a hiatus until the next level up character event, which I'll use to get the third jobs of characters I'm really struggling with (the ara's, rena's, aisha's... Oh also Code: Ultimate). So, hope to see you when that happens! (I think it should come a month from now so it won't be too long I hope).

5/5 - Clear El Tower Defense 5 times [0/5]

Why must he continue to live in this world?

He arrived this far to revenge his brother, but he knew already that his brother wasn't the kind of man who would want revenge. The one who wanted revenge was not Harque, but himself. He used revenge as an excuse to continue living, despite believing that he had no right to live…

The reason why he survived, he is still living, and why he will live on. He needs a goal to move on his own, rather than living for someone else.

He believed returning to the past was a curse. Because it was one way to repent for surviving when Harque didn't.

He believed feeling happiness, or finding joy was like betraying his brother who gave up his life to protect him. But now that he knows this ability is not a curse, but an opportunity prepared for him by his brother, it is clear what he must do to keep the bond that he has made in this time.

He will never, allow anyone to experience the kind of tragedies he has experienced.

Lofty: Schreier

1/4 - Enter 'Bethma Village'

After he traveled through Ruben, and passed by Elder, to finally arrive in Bethma, Ain was shocked to find humans putting a price to the El, and treating it without reverence. The journey of those accompanying him also started because the El was stolen. Why are they constantly repeating their past mistakes? The shock still remained, but Ain decided to investigate the current situation more while moving with the El Search Party.

2/4 - Bethma - Clear 'Bethma Lake' [0/1]

From using evil curses that uses the dead, to researching on the machines that was one of the causes of the El Overload, whenever Ain saw humans repeat their mistakes, he felt discomfort and even disgust. The El was bestowed to Elrios by the Goddess… but he could not forgive even her creation from handling the El carelessly.

Not only that, they were the ones that damaged the El and led everything to this mess. Is it truly fine to leave managing the El to the humans?

3/4 - Enter 'Bethma Village'

The Goddess should be informed about this situation. However, since the last correspondence, the Goddess hasn't given him any answers. The uncertainty he feels seems to cause him to be physically ill. It's likely the scar he received from the gap between time and space. Though Ain was able to slightly heal himself with the faint El energy as a temporary measure, he was bitter. He thought the humans were foolish for abusing the power of the El, yet how is he different from those humans now?

For the messenger of the Goddess, who couldn't even fulfill his mission, to waste the precious El energy like this…

4/4 - Bethma - Clear 'Dragon's nest' [0/1]

But he must complete his mission with this body. Though he wasn't willing, there was no other way. Ain slowly gathered El energy, thinking he needs to maintain his body in order to complete his mission. El energy affected Ain and awakened new powers, which Ain decided to name Art.

As he gathered El energy and helped out the El Search Party, he didn't stop attempting to communicate with the Goddess. Something didn't feel right. He must gather the scattered El energy and inform the Goddess of this situation.

Schatz Reprise

1/5 - Altera - Clear 'Nasod Foundry' [0/1]

The journey was getting longer. Despite the constant attempt to communicate, the Goddess didn't respond. Ain was starting to feel unsettled. Did something go wrong?

Did I do something wrong? Did something happen to the Goddess? Or… perhaps the Goddess has forgotten me.

His uncertainty pushed his thoughts to the extreme, but Ain tried to push those thoughts away. There's no way the Goddess has forgotten me. It's because there are so many abandoned Nasods here. The smell of rust felt like blood and giving him strange thoughts. Ain hurried to leave the place. Ignoring the fact that he, as an angel, had no reason to find the smell of blood ominous, and there was another reason for his uncertainty.

2/5 - Altera - Clear 'Altera Core' [0/1]

As he fought against the massive Nasod army in Altera Core, Ain struggles and feels the limits of his power, but didn't feel as uncertain aas before. In fact, the uncertainty he felt was somewhat resolved, and his mind felt clearer than ever.

The floating island Altera. A place he would have never visited if it weren't for the stolen El. To think it's here he found an army of Nasod soldiers, one of the reasons for the El Overload! Did the Goddess predict this outcome?

Was this confusion, uncertainty, and wavering also the intention of the Goddess? In that case, he will follow her will and eliminate all enemies.

3/5 - Enter 'Feita Village'

The Nasod army stayed silent and the stolen El shard was retrieved. It finally felt like everything was falling into place. Perhaps the Goddess predicted everything will resole like this. Every problem that happened in Elrios and the restoration of the El must all be according to her great plan. As such, he just needs to walk the path she ordered him without single doubt. He was ashamed to feel uncertain from the Goddess not responding.

Feita sent the El Search Party a request for help. This too, must be part of the Goddess's plan. Do not show doubt and walk the path the Goddess shines.

4/5 - Feita - Clear 'Shrine of Dedication Entrance' [0/1]

Something was wrong. When he was faced with the El corrupted by demonic energy, Ain felt the unwavering faith within him shatter. The only thought remaining in his head was that he must purify the El, and his unplanned response prove to be disastrous. When Ain came in contact to the Dark El without protecting himself, the demonic energy began to permeate.

The demonic energy spread to his chaos wound and when he finally realized what was happening, it was already too late. After short, but horrible time mixed with pain, regret, and self-blame passed, Ain was able to regain composure. However, his power was already mutated from demonic energy.

5/5 - Feita - Clear 'Underground Chapel' [0/1]

Soon, uncontrollable, heightened emotion began to overwhelm Ain. Foolish beings who shows no remorse despite neglecting the blessing from the Goddess and shattered the El. The shameless who enjoy the blessing of the El more than deserved, yet do not cherish it. How can he not loath the very being that caused everything? As demonic energy begins to take over his body, his anger kept boiling. Yes, perhaps he started off the wrong way.

His mission is to return energy to the El, in order to complete his mission, he must first restore the El, but he cannot entrust this important mission to those who have already damaged it. It must be him. Only he, as the messenger of the Goddess, can right this wrong. Ain dragged his body that no longer feels like his own and headed deeper in to the shrine.

5/5 - Clear El Tower Defense 5 times [0/5]

The Large El was restored and he thought he could complete the mission, but something unthinkable happened. The messenger of the Goddess who was corrupted by demonic energy and chaos was unable to completely restore the El. If he injects his power without care, then the El might become unstable again. Perhaps it will lead to another disaster not unlike the El Explosion… Just like that, his one hope, his mission can never be achieved.

In midst of this chaos, the only thing he could rely on was an answer from the Goddess. Yet, despite his desperate cries, the Goddess still remained silent. Why? He thought this was all the will of the Goddess. He believed all these hardships and difficulties he could not resolve by himself were all trials he must overcome. But was that all in his head? All his cries, prayers, blame, pleas…

Did none of them reach the Goddess?

If that's the case, he needed to find another path. If he can't do anything to achieve what he wants and can never reach the Goddess, then all he needs to do is make the Goddess look for him. He is her faithful servant. He will complete his mission and return the El to the Goddess. Even if that means destroying her beloved Elrios.

Ain headed towards the sanctum. 'He' was waiting for his answer at the heart of the sanctum.

So that anon got me thinking.. When did they change job quests...

Let me explain.

I started this project back in January of 2020, with Richter's quest line being the very first thing in my records.

Back then, I noticed something terrible about most of the job quests I was recording...

They all... Sort of looked like this. Looking into my backlog, where I also started recording Laby and Ain- they're completely different. Compare that with Lofty: Executor's first job quest.

Now I wasn't sure what exactly was happening... But I knew this wasn't really right? But I didn't know what to do about it.

I don't know when they changed into this format, but I DO know when they changed everything... Either back or to something completely new.

...I first thought it was

The first one I recorded that wasn't any new job or character was Blazing Heart and it looks like this

Granted, this was in September of 2022, so I definitely don't have exact dates when things changed, but either way it was a step in the right direction. Such an amazing one in fact that I...

Promptly forgot about the issue I experienced all of 2020 and that combined with how many 4th jobs I recorded up until that point excitedly began trying to play every single class I could like a madman in an effort to archive things.

...

Then I opened this blog in late 2022, confident that I was nearly done with my archival efforts.

So if you ever wonder why things seem recorded so last minute, just know I DID have this things recorded, and usually plan to release the original recordings, but uh. They changed everything up on me. Whoops.

With the videos on each individual job class coming out, I'm sure they're most likely not going to be changing job quests again- unless they decided to do 4th jobs. Which... I mean I guess that's basically masterclass, and I wouldn't really want them to do anyway since that adds extra workload onto me.

So.

When did they exactly change job quests?

...

Now. An issue with this is I don't speak Korean, and was not around during 2020 Korean Elsword, so I guess this kind of ends here. I can't really tell what they were doing during then. This could be an NA exclusive issue

Now I wish I could say "I have a job quest from 2020 KR server that helps prove this may not be the case"

But although that would be nice, it wouldn't matter because I only recorded the Furious Blade 5/5 quest when someone else was doing the Jump event in 2020 very legally on their own account and barring translation differences, it is virtually the same as the 2022 version. And of COURSE I didn't record the other job quests because it was a JUMP EVENT and they let you speed through job quests........

Anyway so if it isn't an NA exclusive issue, we have no way of telling, unless someone who was using the European server or very legally using the KR server has anything from 2020 to back this up.

But, for now. Looking through the GM blog on Elsword, it's tempting to say that these are the only patch notes. But.

There was an elsword tumblr. One I can no longer find, but there was one. I suppose it doesn't particularly matter, but I promise you that tumblr had more detailed patch notes. Then they most likely moved their focus to twitter and decided to start doing patch notes on their official blog from then onward.

I had a lot of theories on when exactly it changed but I think when it did was during the dungeon revamp that happened due to Laby and Noah's dungeons being uniquely fast in EXP gain.

My evidence is that all of the current job quests align with those changed dungeons. Let's compare Lofty: Executor, because if the icon wasn't Tyrannus, it would be Richter;

This is a 2 year gap in between these recordings, so it's kind of a stretch and they could have just as easily been changed with 4th path release, to match up with the job questline videos... However, it's easier to have a script in advanced and put them in a game 1 month before you release the first of the 4th paths than it is to put them in just as each individual 4th path is coming out.

If there was any time to change job quests, it would have been then.

If anyone recorded job quests from 2021 during this update to corroborate, that would be fantastic.

Again, the only instance I think they would maybe change job quests is to perhaps suit areas for individual characters, but I sort of doubt that's going to happen any time soon.

...

I both want and don't want that to happen.

This project was made specifically to archive job quests, after all, and even if the history of Elsword seems kind of short (it's been 15 years), I would prefer it to be recorded and readily available.
