Because why let Mod Raven have all the fun with recipes? I’m a sucker for sweets and I figured I’d share this lovely little recipe with everyone.
Everyone gets that hankering for chocolate once in a while, and a molten brownie is a surefire way to settle the craving--but why waste time heating an oven when there’s a perfectly good microwave right there?
So today’s recipe is: One Minute Microwave Mug Brownie!
Ingredients:
4tbsp all-purpose flour
4tbsp granulated sugar
2tbsp cocoa powder (baking cocoa, not hot chocolate mix! Hershey’s is best, but you can use alternatives if you want!)
2tbsp vegetable oil
2tbsp water
A pinch of salt
Your favorite flavor of ice cream (optional)
Whipped cream (optional)
Other Materials:
A normal-sized coffee mug
A fork
Instructions:
Mix flour, sugar, salt, and cocoa powder in your favorite coffee mug. Use a fork, it minimizes the risk of the mix poofing up and messing up your clothes. Mix ‘em until it looks like hot cocoa mix.
Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients.
Add oil and water, then mix well until there’s no lumps and you don’t see any powder. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the mug, especially if it’s a slightly conical shape.
Microwave the brownie for 55 seconds to one minute. Less time means a more molten middle. And yes, it’s safe to lick the batter off the fork since there’s no eggs!
While the brownie is warm, top with ice cream or whipped cream if you desire, then dig in!
The brownie is very rich thanks to the baking chocolate, so this isn’t for someone who prefers milk chocolate, keep this in mind. It’s a great snack to unwind at the end of a long day, or even to split with a loved one if you want!
