im finally watching the show (sorry it took me this long, i was really depressed the past couple of months) and so far... i really hate how heavy handed the christian themes in this show. im only on the second episode and i really hate that long ass speech by taliesin. like, I GET IT! THIS SHOW IS MADE BY CHRISTIANS! but why not show instead of tell???

can someone please tell me it gets better? bc if the show is like this in its entirety, i might not finish it at all, which is a shame since i had been waiting for this for YEARS

I have to imagine that Merlin grew up on stories about his father. The bard with otherworldly power to his voice who cried out and was heard, resulting in Merlin living as a baby. I have to imagine that story was one he knew well by the time that he found the love of his life beaten and broken and dying - along with their own unborn child - on the forest floor. His desperate, broken humming is heartbreaking.
