Maria Wirries (Star) and Jennifer Duka (Alan) at The Lost Boys stage door, 3/28/2026! They were both so sweet and were excited to hear that it was my sibling’s first Broadway show. I loved Maria’s outfit!

somewhere in The Lost Boys universe, there’s a drum corps called the Santa Carla Vanguard
The Lost Boys Musical Thoughts
From the 3/28/26 preview show
Moments
This show was SO funny
One of the biggest audience reactions was one of the Frogs goes to make a salt circle around Max but ends up pouring ashes out of an urn and Lucy screams, "No! That's my dad!"
"I sure hope you're referring to the 1960 black-and-white film Little Shop of Horrors, making a musical out of a movie reeks of desperation" -Max to Lucy in the video store
I also got a kick out "the devil isn't ready / for my mom's angel hair spaghetti / with CLAMMSSSS"
In the opening of Act II, the ensemble is all dressed as Elvira and Dracula and it felt very Spooky Mormon Hell Dream (but with Vampires)
Sam is explicitly stated as queer in the show, Michael is not but the energy was absolutely there between him and David
Tech (My family and I are all technical theatre nerds so we were ecstatic about this part)
Welcome back, maximalist sets! The scene transitions were so smooth, and all the giant set pieces were automated -- watching the Emerson family house emerge for the first time with the second floor dropping from the ceiling and the main floor rising from the ground is amazing. The iron factory was gorgeous as well!
There were so many beautiful lighting moments, there was a gorgeous blue and red wash in the second act that was reminiscent of the movie poster color grading in a scene with Michael, David, and Michael's father
All of the flying was so impressive (we were also all holding our breath when all the vampires were hanging upside down eeeek), someone at the stage door was asking about how it was choregraphed and the actors were talking about how they almost got tangled a few times in rehearsal and the tracks were constantly being adjusted, so total props to the people who choreographed all the complicated tracks for the fly wires!
More on the Stage Door
Everyone was very respectful at the stage door and the cast was SO sweet
Maria Wirries had a beautiful whimsigothic outfit and she said she's been theming her own outfits around the show recently
Maria was also signing alongside Carissa Gaughran from the ensemble. They said the two of them have a headcanon that Star secretly has a girlfriend named Supernova and that someone needs to write fanfiction about it🫡
The Lost Boys on Broadway at the Palace Theatre — preview show #2, 3/28/2026
A Jules collage I made on Pinterest shuffles!
Continuing with Three Dark Crowns x Everybody Scream, The Old Religion is totally Arsinoe's song to me:
"A lightning strike/A fallen tree": makes me think of the low magic tree where Arsinoe and Madrigal practice
"And I'm afraid/Oh don't let it find me/But you can't outrun/Yourself you see/And I'm powerless/Oh don't remind me": Arsinoe's fear of perishing in the Ascension, especially before discovering her poisoner gift
Everybody Scream is such a perfect album for Three Dark Crowns and I haven't stopped thinking about it. Sympathy Magic is absolutely Katherine's song:
"Crouched in a ball gown/Anxious and ashamed/The vague humiliations of fame" always makes me think of the Gave Noir in the first chapter
"It didn't keep me safe/Like you told me that it would/So come on, tear me wide open/'Til I'm losing my mind" reminds me of Pietyr throwing Katherine down the Breccia and how the dead queens did not, in fact, keep her safe in the end
Like she was just a naturalist and didn't know it!! And the power from the dead queens was sympathy magic but she never got to experience her own innate gift!!
I need a blumendrei edit to "fast in my car" by paramore immediately
