El Verde, the superhero who fights for truth, justice, and the Mexican-American way, has arrived to speak at Mrs. Sanchez’s elementary class. It is Career Day and El Verde is ready to show the students what makes his job so heroic. But someone in the crowd is not impressed: viral sensation, Jean Genie the Teen Meanie. With her selfish attitude, she is ready to disrupt our hero’s presentation all to prove who really deserves the admiration. Can El Verde prove that he is just as cool as Jean or will he be unable to face this hip hooligan’s challenge?

El Verde is back at the Latino Comics Expo!

On Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025 at 1pm, we'll be presenting a staged reading of "El Verde: The Wrath of Kahlo." Yes, it’s the return of surrealist criminal, Frita Kahlo, and she has one thing on her mind: revenge. Denied a major grant and upstaged by modern dancer, José Lemón, Frita is determined to redefine true art!

And it's all free! So come on by to the MOLAA, Long Beach, for a day of comic book creators and comedy.

This Sunday, Nov. 24th, join us as the El Verde team brings you a staged reading of "El Verde v Doctor Pilar." It's all happening at the 2024 Latino Comics Expo at the Museum of Latin American Art. We'll even be having workshops where you can make a Doctor Pilar caterpillar as well as learn how to draw El Verde! And best of all, its free! After her grandson is caught spray painting, Grandma Emma must relive her rebellious youth in 1960s Boyle Heights. Now she watches on as her teenage self tries to start a gang named after her friends, the Suzies. But can Grandma Emma’s stories of defiance convince her grandson not to follow in her footsteps? Find out as this comedic play will have teens and adults alike laughing with delight.

It's all part of the Community Play Readings Festival presented by CTG and ELAC Theater.

Get ready, superheroes, for El Verde will be coming to the Los Angeles Libros Fest 2023! Yes, the bilingual book festival will be showcasing, not one, but two El Verde spinoffs! "La Naranja: Attack of the Ahuizotl" and "The Exoneration of El Maestro."

It all happens Saturday, September 30, 2023, 2pm, at the Los Angeles Central Library auditorium.

Flashback to May, where Center Theatre Group presented a reading of "The Exoneration of El Maestro" by Anthony Aguilar & Alejandra Cisneros. Featuring Oscar T. Basulto, Raul Cardona, Cristina Fernandez, & Ramona Gonzales.

And we have exciting news! "The Exoneration of El Maestro" will return as part of the Los Angeles Libros Fest!
