#some time mid april i was scrolling on reddit and there was a weird ass post of someone arguing that Elvis wasn't white #because he had black hair and looked very tan. and people were like. no he bronzed the f out of himself and dyed his hair. he was blond..#and i was like nah that can't be true. elvis blond? and it sent me down a rabbit hole reading up on his life #and the part of his later years hit me so hard. how his suffering got turned into a joke. haha he ate himself to death...#i've been struggling for over a decade with the binge/restrict cycle. i can't remember ever having a carefree approach to food.#i think my case isn't nearly as severe as what he was dealing with but even then.#i know the feeling of shame and disgust with yourself. how it makes you feel less than human. how it consumes your brain #yeah ik parasocial projection n shit but i felt a closeness to him. then i looked up his music and i was like ??? that voice is so familiar #there were songs i did know but i didn't know who sang them. i was always vaguely aware of Elvis but never really looked him up #anyone else got this weird sense of deja vu with his voice #like i didnt ever consciously listen to it but i am so sure I heard it a 1000 times before #anyway he is living rent free in my head now #elvis
