Don’t make her as a ISIS hostage!
This video was made by JYP Entertainment Corporation, an entertainment company in South Korea. Her name is Chou Tzu-Yu(周子瑜), a 16 years old teenage girl from Taiwan. She flew to Korea when she was 13 to pursue her celebrity dream. And now, she is a renowned member from "TWICE". a famous girl group in Asia. She is the only Taiwanese who was nominated in "The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2015" by TC Candler.
Posing similar as ISIS hostage in her declaration video, Chou Tzu-Yu apologized several times and claimed "There is only one China." , due to the action where she waved the National flag of Republic of China on a variety show in Korea, when she was asked to introduce her home country. This action has caused a sweep up anger from China’s internet and fermented a protest wave to all TV shows involving "TWICE".
JYP Entertainment Corporation obviously trying to quench the opposition from China through this short video, yet they flamed up the anger of the Taiwanese instead, just before the Taiwan national election on Jan. 16.
On Jan. 16, one day after her apology video released, Taiwan will elect their new president and congressmen. However, JYP challenged the major political issue of Taiwan’s sovereignty. Most Taiwanese people insist that Taiwan is a country, which should be known as Republic of China, and they support the nation flag which depicted a red ground and white sun pattern on blue background. When a native Taiwan girl suffered political persecution and declared that she is one of People’s Republic of Chinese, just because she showed Republic of China nation flag, and she said she came from Taiwan. This action not only injured JYP or a 16 years old girl that bullying by China government, but also harmed the sovereignty of Taiwan.
One more day and Taiwan will have their national election. JYP chose this time and this critical moment to provoke the relationship which Taiwanese care the most -- the relationship between Taiwan and China.
Majority of Taiwanese still believe and insist their nationality is Republic of China, where their flag pattern is depicted as red ground and white sun, with a blue background. When a teenage girl with an age of 16 was forced to declared that she is a Chinese from China, due to her innocent action of waving her home country flag publicly in TV show, it is not just the right of the entertainment company and a teenager being humiliated, it is the whole dignity of Taiwan as an independent country being humiliated. Their dignity is not the only thing gone in this action, but the flag and the status of Taiwan as a country.
China government suppressed the national sovereignty of Taiwan regularly, as this is not their first attempt to throttle Taiwan -- the only Chinese Democracy Country in this world. Taiwan is not allowed to use the name "Taiwan" on any internaitonal event or organization, instead of that they had to declare themself as Chinese Taipei. Whether in ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), WHO (World Healthy Organization), APEC ( Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) and OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), or any International sports event. For their own sake and profit, China government had done and will do whatever it takes to degrade the status and rightful power of Taiwan as a country。
The action of China government in ignoring and suppressing human right is notorious yet with multiple examples. They interfere other country government’s affair by using their mighty power as one of the top nation and this kind of action should be disdained. The Taiwanese are currently protesting the horrible action that was taken on this innocent girl by the China government, which include forcing her entertainment agency to compel and persuade her to apologize for a meaningless public action.
China government not only should apologize for violating the human right and power of this Taiwanese girl, they also should apologize to Taiwan and South Korea for violating their sovereignty.
China, one of the top nation in this world, harmed and jeopardized the rightful power of a girl to introduce her home country. They should apologize for this horrible action they had done to this girl, and comment on their ruthless action in interfering the rights of Taiwan’s and Korea’s citizen while participate in public activity in China.
