 that   aside,   hello,   my   name   is   nyx,   and   this   is   a   FANTASY   REWRITE   of   padmé   naberrie   as   per   my   own   interpretation.   any   content   on   this   blog,   be   it   headcanon,   lore,   npcs   and   the   like,   save   for   the   names   used   are   of   my   own   creation   and   mine   by   default,   so   i   ask   that   you   do   not   take   any   of   them   without   asking   me   prior.   i   will   of   course,   be   very   willing   to   have   your   character   coexist   in   said   universe,   as   i   prefer   plotted   interactions   nevertheless.   lastly,   i   am   more   than   happy   to   answer   any   of   your   questions   pertaining   to   anything   on   this   blog,   my   interpretation   of   the   character,   or   the   universe   itself.

you're walking your dog in the woods. you see a weird looking woman with hair like ink spilling down her shoulders and horns adorned with flowers getting out of the lake. her skin looks almost translucent in the evening light, glimmering like the nacre of a sea shell, and when you catch her eyes, you feel the whole weight of the earth's entire years pressing down on you. you hear ancient chants, smell herbs burning in the wind, the nascent dawn of a civilisation that has come so far. you blink and she's gone. you're walking your dog in the woods.

Hi, I hope you are well, can you talk about the relationship between Padmé and her handmaidens? How is it different from her other relationships?

hello ! thank you so much for asking this question.

 short   story,   padmé’s   handmaidens   are   her   most   trusted   advisers   and   confidants,   as   well   as   her   closest   friends.   she   trusts   them   with   her   life,   and   they   would   stop   at   nothing   to   cheep   her   safe.

 long   story   ??   padmé’s   handmaidens     (   sabé,   rabé,   eritaé,   dormé,   and   saché   ),   were   initially   part   of   a   school   on   naboo   that   trains   the   chykarié   (   lit.   ‘moon   warrior’   in   xin’de).   here,   they   learn   everything   from   politics   to   training   as   highly   skilled   assassins   that   either   join   the   queen’s   guard   upon   graduation,   or   are   free   to   choose   different   career   paths   for   themselves.   now,   padmé   came   to   the   throne   when   she   was   twelve   after   a   short   but   bloody   war   that   killed   her   parents,   the   previous   monarchs,   so   her   handmaidens   too   were   chosen   in   that   same   age   range,   twelve   to   fourteen,   with   sabé   being   the   youngest   and   eritaé   being   the   eldest.   they   essentially   grew   up   together,   and   the   fraught   political   climate   only   forced   them   to   rely   on   each   other   even   more.

 at   fourteen,   when   padmé   and   her   chykarié   uncovered   that   heku’u,   the   court   mage   and   padmé’s   remaining   parental   figure,   was   behind   the   coup,   and   after   his   subsequent   banishment,   they   were   the   ones   to   help   her   weed   out   any   people   whose   alliance   might   still   be   with   him,   and   secure   padmé’s   rule.   similarly,   when   padmé’s   fiancé   turned   out   to   be   plotting   to   overthrow   her,   they   were   the   ones   who   would   help   her   burn   the   body   in   the   woods.   when   padmé   does   leave   naboo   to   travel   the   world,   they   are   her   sole   link   to   her   kingdom,   and   they   often   pass   messages   between   her   and   her   council.

 in   short,   padmé   loves   and   trusts   them   above   any   other,   and   their   bound   runs   incredibly   deep.

I think I'm gonna lean more into the eldritch / cosmic aspects of padmé going forward. with this blog's current arc, she is definitely a primordial being (and a chthonic goddess through marriage and not only!).

But perhaps it is the yearning for hope that most of the time the human eye cannot see the truth beyond illusions. If not for the coldness of his Hidden Blade then his prey surely would have mistaken his intentions for something else, something uglier ; most likely. Luckily for them though, this faded man’s heart still beats for beauty so, 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇 - as one of the most beautifully cruel things in the world - would be what bestowed upon the latter should they fail to keep him interested.

 BEWARE,   WOLF.   EVEN   DEER   HAVE   TEETH.     how   often   has   the   kiss   of   a   blade   been   bestowed   ‘pon   her   neck   ??   too   many   times   to   count,   so   much   blood   spilt,   decades   passing   in   a   blink,   but   violence   remaining   the   singular   common   truth.   men   like   him,   men   like   death   shrouded   in   shadow,   holding   more   power   in   their   hands   than   they   know   what   to   do   with.   and   yet   that,   too,   is   part   of   life.   the   world   cares   little   for   deserving   or   undeserving,   turns   a   blind   eye   no   matter   how   much   she   tries   to   see   that   justice   is   delivered.

 in   the   beginning   i   was   so   young   and   such   a   stranger   to   myself   i   hardly   existed.   i   had   to   go   out   into   the   woods   and   see   it   and   hear   it   and   react   to   it,   before   i   knew   at   all   who   i   was,   what   i   was,   what   i   wanted   to   be.

my favourite thing about padmé, and the thing that simultaneously makes me super sad is that... nobody really knows who she is. most people won't even know she's the queen of naboo, let alone a goddess. people know fragments she chose to show them - some know more, others less, but never the full picture.

also. au where padmé lives until the modern age. people know of these beings they call immortal of course - caught them on film, mere seconds before the video blackens and burns. can't look at her for too long, in the same way staring directly into the sun after an eclipse will render you unseeing, and the language she speaks when she does speak is lost, forgotten, dead. she'll come to help, burning in her righteousness when a crime is committed, quick to smile when met with kindness, but some who have met her have been driven mad with a desire for answers to questions they can't even begin to ask, so she limits her interactions with humans.
