It couldn’t be possible that Amelia owned this much. Well – okay, maybe, just perhaps it was sort of, kind of entirely possible she had this much to her name given that she drowned her sorrows by purchasing any article of clothing that caught her eye back in Paris, but now, trying to fit it all into her drawers and the all too small space of her closet was proving to be more of a hindrance than anything. She pursed her lips, hands resting on her hips as she assessed the damage, no inch of her bed free to lay on with dresses, blouses, skirts, and coats strewn about haphazardly. Tilting her head to eye the unopened boxes filled with just her fall and winter shoes, all motivation drained in an instant and she was just about to give up when Emerald’s voice rang through the hallway in between them, calling her to come into her room. Amelia was certainly not going to pass up an opportunity to ignore the daunting moving process for a night, loosening the belt around her powder pink silk robe as she crossed the threshold into Emerald’s room with a sigh.
“You know, sometimes I wish I had magic, so I can make anything I want come true. All I’d have to do is bippity, boppity, boo my way into a unpacked room,” Amelia’s finger twirled in the air as she mimicked the motion of a wand, settling into the spot right beside Emerald. The bed was large, with more than enough space for two people, but she left no room between them as she cuddled close to her side, head falling to the brunette’s shoulder. The wave of nerves she felt drifted as she settled in, the other girl warm to her touch. “But then I may have too much power. I’m already a princess, have magnificent hair, and a doting father who’s set to buy me a new set of diamond earrings for the holidays, so it wouldn’t be fair to anyone to add magic atop all of that,” she teased with a small laugh. “What would you do if you had magic?” Amelia rose her head to catch a glimpse of Emerald as she asked, knowing her family was all the more familiar with wish-granting than her own.
There were boxes almost up to the ceiling throughout her apartment from Amelia, but she wouldn’t want it any other way. The girl was just as extra as she could be, and they wouldn’t be elite princesses without their high maintenance qualities. But unpacking could be saved for tomorrow, for now, it was time for quality time with one of her favorite people. Emerald could be a little selfish, of course, but when it came to Amelia was so especially so. With her absence over the last year, she was just waiting on the day that her bestie came back, and now that she was and she was LIVING with her? It was paradise. Soon enough, she came through her door and she beamed a sunny smile her way, “Ugh, don’t we all. Luckily, as far as cleaning goes, I have a maid come and tidy up once a week. So, least we have that covered. And I’ll help you unpack....tomorrow, right now, I need my Amelia time. C’mere.”
Her arms stretched out wide, smiling when the princess crawled onto her large bed, curling up beside her and automatically putting her at ease. Fingers automatically coming up to comb through her best friend’s hair, she laughed a bit at what she said, “Beauty, brains, and magic? Really, it wouldn’t be fair to the rest of the world, you’re right. Besides, you have enough money to buy some stuff if things don’t go your way, which hardly ever happens anyways.” Emerald reminded her, shooting her a look with a little smile, moving a bit to face her as she took her hands, “Well, that’s tough. I wish I could like, know what people are thinking. That way I can know people’s intentions and if they are gonna hurt me or someone I care about-” Pausing, she rolled her eyes and flopped onto her back, staring at the ceiling, “Genie always told me and my family if we need anything, he knows some people but...my folks don’t want to rely on wishes and stuff.”
