Sarah doesn’t talk to strangers. It’s awkward, stressful, and there’s the uncontrollable blushing to worry about. When she boards a plane to fly home after an overseas holiday, she plans to stick her nose in a book and ignore everyone around her.
Aiden’s terrified of flying, and it’s his first time on a plane. If he can distract himself by talking non-stop for the entire flight, he will. Too bad for Sarah he’s sitting right next to her.
Against all Sarah’s expectations, she ends up enjoying Aiden’s company. They laugh, argue, concoct stories about other passengers, and accidentally hold hands during the turbulence. When the time comes to say goodbye, Sarah can’t help the crazy thought that she shouldn’t let Aiden go.
Then he kisses her.
And then he’s gone.
With her world turning upside down in more ways than one, Sarah has to make a decision: stick with the safe, predictable life that’s been mapped out for her, or find the courage to go after what she truly wants.
I finished this book this morning when I was in a bus going in my way to college, and I was so into it that one of my friends had to tell me that we have already arrived. Since Tara Sivec I haven't found any book in my kindle that actually made me want to keep reading it since the very first page. And this did that in the first line. Yes. That good.
Sarah is shy, has a lot of ideas in her head and has a pretty much messed live right now. So the last thing that she wants is to talk with anyone on a 6 hours’ flight back home, but then this amazingly cute guy sits next to her with a fear of heights that can't control and she has to help him. After that he won't stop talking and she kind of doesn't want him to stop.
I felt so related to her immediately that I have to keep reading, she reminds of me in a scary way. I was reading about myself, but worst, a couple of years ago.
Everyone has this moments of really hard struggle in their lives and there's always something or someone that make us realized that we can get over that. Sarah was in that badge and she was in need of someone who actually see her and made her see the truth. And I know what you're thinking, he came into her life like the prince charming and changed everything. Well, no! She had those ideas, she was already waking up, her friends were there for her and helped her with that, Aiden was just the cherry bottom of everything. I loved to see how she realized things and once that she had the decisions she just made it and that's it, because that's the real her and that is how she always should be.
Aiden was sweet, cute, adorable, funny, cocky and sexy! I love him from the very beginning, like I just read about those honestly panicking eyes and I was done. He was intrigued, he knew what he wanted but he didn't push her, he was there for her, and behaved as a truly friend from star to end.
The whole family thing, with the girls' behavior, the adorable grandpa and the silly lovely sisters made the perfect background for the book.
The writing was amazing, the dialogues were funny, sweet, fast and real. Like you can't deny that every single day you have Sarah's same thoughts in your head.
She is a real woman, with real problems and that just made me love it more. I know that the plot is convenient and that is too many coincidences happens but who cares?! This is actually what I was looking for and I love it!
I love them together, I love the woman she became and I love Aiden way more than that.
