Fabrice Monteiro, styles by Bull Doff - The Missing Link
"What would Africa be today without 400 years of slavery and 200 years of colonization? Probably very different from the continent we know."
"In this photographic series entitled “The Missing Link”, I imagined an Africa that had gone through a long period of stagnation, during which it lost control of its destiny, and now must reinvent itself on the ruins of multiple external influences."
"This is my vision of Afrofuturism: not merely a projection of the Western world onto an African context, but that of a continent rich in its own resources, drawing on its endogenous knowledge to reinvent itself and imagine its future. Through these images, I seek to question the present in the light of a disrupted past, while opening a window onto the possibilities of an Africa reclaiming its history and imagination."
there basically isn't a single established action archetype that you can't improve tenfold by making it a girl
the old master. the sneering rival. the implacable pursuer. the pragmatic mercenary. the combat hedonist. the sleeper operative. the guy who's just really big. the list goes on
There was a cave, they found a cave, from maybe a billion years ago, lost in a cave. Water was found in the cave, and humans had not touched it yet
I make a lot of random images for my friends during conversation and there are so many gems that will never see the light of day outside of their one singular usage. Would anyone like to see some personal favorites
YES PELASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes please :)
you cant consent while on cigarettes/ coffee and if you think you did youare a VICTIM
apple / orange juice too
you cant consent. ever.
you just cant
true consent has never been meaningfully achieved
theoretically two buddhas could consent to action without attachment to the outcome and sex would occur for the first time in human history
this happened once in 358 BCE and once in 1969 CE and never again since

Out of curiosity, if you were writing Awesome Revolutionary DND what would the generic humanoid enemies be?
To be perfectly blunt, I probably wouldn't even try such a thing. There are so many things about D&D as is that I enjoy from a gameplay perspective that do not really map well into my own political ideals. Like, idk, I enjoy the gameplay of going into dungeons to check out what's going on there and I think the dialectic of civilization vs. wilderness, while obviously fraught in real life, works well as a setting for fantasy action adventure. But those things are not things that I would want replicated in a product that's like. Good Politics: the Game.
What I do have a vision for is a D&D type of game that is about dungeon-crawling as a way of gaining resources to funnel into your small business. It would rely on the dungeon as an ecosystem onto itself, with the various non-humanoid monsters in there being seen as worth hunting because they drop cool rare resources. The treasures and resources thus gained through dungeon-crawling the group would then funnel into their small business. It's at the same time a marriage of old-school D&D's stronghold gameplay and the idea of the modern D&D party running a cozy inn or whatever, but making that stronghold gameplay a consistent part of the gameplay from the start and actually providing mechanical support for it.
There wouldn't really be humanoid enemies in there. The game would largely revolve around classic non-humanoid "dungeon monsters." Slimes, giant insects, that sort of thing. The closest thing to humanoid enemies would be, idk, skeletons and animated armor. But even they wouldn't be, like, animated skeletons of anything. They're just naturally occurring skeletons. Like stalfoses. Same with the animated armor, animated armor just occurs naturally in the dungeon ecosystem.
And like, to be clear: this game would at the same time be decidedly irreverent in its approach to the genre but I would still want to make it a fun and playable game. But more importantly, the aforementioned vision of a game is decidedly not my vision of D&D With Good Politics, because at the end of the day that is not really an exercise that interests me.
I specifically turn off the Good Politics part of my brain when planning D&D stuff. Because sometimes I just want the Skull King to have a bunch of orc minions for the players to fight because I think that’ll be fun.
I know these are from two different Disney films but to me these are the Skull King
And his orc minions
this idea of a dungeon with no humanoids is suuuuuper interesting to me honestly, i feel like it would be a ton of fun to focus on the whole ecology thing of it. it also ironically makes me think more about enemies who are human, like brigands or tax collectors or what-have-you, but honestly i always struggle to think about humans sincerely wanting to commit violence against each other so its nice to have the permission to just... not.
taking my eunuch to the vet because it shows no interest in scheming and the vet is like Yeah this is one of those non scheming eunuchs and it's actually super unethical to make these they have a fuck ton of health problems and like. yeah this is not a companion eunuch at all i got him to help me concoct an attempt on my nephew's life so my own son can take the throne soooooo yeah leaving the eunuch door open and maybe he'll walk into traffic lol
Is that a trebuchet in your pants or are you just happy to siege me
