Welcome to Fractal Theory, a multi-fandom story I am creating for my OC, Emera Sinclair.
Like the title suggests, The story takes place amongst several timelines and throughout a multiverse of creative media properties. Several Emeras live several lives that collide with each other and share many parallel themes. Each world's lore is picked from it's source material and fleshed out with details that support how I want the characters to be. The levels of OOC varies from character to character.
All character models are created by me, ported by me or my personal edits of mods in FFXIV. Images are created either in Gpose or Blender.
You can see more WIPs and other ramblings about Emera on my Bluesky
I want to keep everything nicely tagged and organized for myself and anyone who stumbles across this, so I've chosen to use my own titles for each Emera. Below is a list and a short blurb of each version of Emera:
The Origin My Azem, Eris, born with the star Etheirys. She has a unique energy that comes from within herself and can see all of time and space except events she will personally influence. Wishing for a legacy, she uses the creation magicks of her people to birth all Emeras.

The Void Eris' first attempt at an Emera that goes horribly wrong and eventually becomes a world-eating threat. She is also referred to as Proto-Emera. You could say she is the BBEG of the story. Once freed, she begins to eat worlds to collect other Emeras to manipulate them in her timeless plane.

The One From the timeline where only one Emera exists in the whole of the multiverse, also referred to as Prime Emera. She can travel the multiverse herself to see many worlds. She holds all of Eris' energy and is wildly unstable. Eris, visited by a time-traveling Teferi, learns of this Emera's multiverse-destroying ending and decides to create sundered Emeras in each universe to spread the energy for stability. Emeras that exist on planes where this Emera has spent time have a larger potential energy and become awakened to it's existence in different ways. A few other Emeras also will awaken the energy, but are less able to wield it.
The Izzet The sundered Emera of Ravnica. She escapes the Cult of Rakdos at a young age and is reluctantly taken in by Ral Zarek when she exhibits the ability to deflect his lightning. A mage who can manipulate electrons on an atomic level, She takes to the scientific process to become a young prodigy both beloved and hated by the league. She keeps running into Jace here and there throughout the years until the events of the Implicit Maze brings them together for good.

The Librarian The sundered Emera of Hawkins, Prime Emera's home plane. Unplanned and 12 years younger than her sister, she spends her time reading as many books as she can and plans to become a lawyer to afford writing novels of her own. She falls for a "scientist" who also spent his "free time" at the library. She ends up kidnapped by him and left with a version of him implanted into her consciousness. This version of him is left to control her, but becomes untouched by "The Mind Flayer" and her ally.

The Mage The sundered Emera of Etheirys and daughter to the Garlean ambassador to Kugane. She learns magitek from her family friend, Cid and becomes his ward when her parents are executed for treason. She follows Cid as soon as she safely can to become a core member of The Ironworks and close friend to the Warrior of Light, Kalhir. She has a complicated relationship with Nero that eventually turns to love.

The Bioweapon The sundered Emera of Raccoon City, a plane that resides between Etheirys and Hawkins and shares similarities with both. The only successful test subject and living incubator of the prototype strain developed to be the base of the virus given to the subjects of Project W. Her awakening was a traumatic aftershock of another and leads to an accidental attachment with that plane's shard of Nero, Albert Wesker. Bound to die if the other does, they are forced to stay together and pretend to be a couple. Wesker believes he's the mastermind of the pair, but her intelligence surpasses his own.

The Vigilante The sundered Emera of Gotham City befriended Tim Drake in college. Her parents were killed in a terrorist attack which causes Tim to pull away from her from guilt. She leaves the city after graduation. Tim, finally working through his guilt, comes to offer her a job back in the city many years later. Conflicted, she accepts and becomes an anti-hero to antagonize him. It drives Tim nuts to not be able to figure out her identity. Eventually everything between them in laid out on the table and they choose to move forward together.

The Hero The sundered Emera of Earth-616 and a direct mirror to the Emera of Gotham. She becomes the host and voice for a symbiotic consciousness granting her larger control over her own energy plus extra abilities. In agreement with their bonding, she unleashes judgement upon the cult of hosts reducing their numbers significantly. She is put on "parole" by the heroic council for her actions with Doctor Strange as her "parole officer".

This was the first shot I took of them and I don't think the energy quite fits how I've developed that scene since then, but it's such a fun shot.
Context below:
This happens during Code: Veronica. (So, you know I'm very excited about the remake announcement >=3)
Em was the only successful subject of phase 2 of project W, infusing pregnant mothers with a prototype strain of the progenitor virus coded specifically to enhance those with the genetic markers/traits of the Wesker children. She had to be extracted prematurely as the infusion killed her mother before she could fully develop. She is smaller in size and shape than the other Emeras because of this.
She was kept unaware and staged as the daughter of a high ranking employee of Umbrella and his wife. But she did have benefits from the virus, she was wickedly intelligent even if they kept her physically weak from medications. She met Albert when she was 6, casing the lab under the guise of being lost. She poked at his insecurities while he made her wait to be picked up.
Not being from a prime-visited plane but being sensitive to it from her viral mutation, it took the aftershocks of two violent awakenings to crack her open. He happened to next to her when the second aftershock happened and she just happened to falter and grab onto his shoulder, transferring very little energy into him. It was not enough for him to notice, and though she did sense it, she did not tell him.
When the events of RE1 happened, Wesker injected himself with a virus made by Birkin using Emera's blood. This did activate the energy in him and formed a bond between them. He did not escape the mansion and was instead taken by Emera's father's unit. She breaks him out shortly after, furious to be put in this situation. They flee to the rival company Wesker had been in talks with.
This image is the first time anyone sees them since then.
This is one of the older pieces I've done but still one of the most complicated and detailed
Context below:
Emera and Nero have been dancing around each other since the Omega raids. Omega can sense Emera's "potential energy" and accidentally awakens it trying to take it from her. Nero saves her but some of the energy gets stuck in him when he does. Afterwards, Nero left to once again avoid acknowledging anything about them or their complicated past.
Emera leaves him alone until the Ironworks need to extract the cure for tempering from the allagan information node right before Endwalker. She tracks him down for help and he agrees.
During the event, Emera stays at the terminal to the very end to tweak the code to keep the system working long enough to finish extracting the cure and Nero has to pull her off of it and use himself to shield her from the blast, activating her latent energy within him to do so.
It puts them in an embarrassing, awkward position and once again instead of dealing with it, Nero chooses to walk away and Emera doesn't try to stop him. It's actually G'raha, sick of their shit, who follows Nero out of the room and tells him in the timeline he came from in Shadowbringers, Emera and Nero had two children. This stirs up more emotions in Nero, who still storms off.
G'raha tells Emera as well afterwards and she asks Kalhir (my WOL) to go back to the first and fetch the history book. She goes back to Nero with the book and makes them finally talk about everything.
I keep struggling with how I want to use this blog. I do better when I have a goal. I'd like to start posting different finished works with maybe a bit of context to how they fit into my story.
Emera started as a loose attempt to make a Hyur female that was modeled after myself and ended up becoming her own person with her own personality, story and looks that diverge from my own. It was a very natural way to fall into making my first OC and I've been writing and rewriting her story for over four years now.
I think about how unsatisfied I would be if I had actually sat down and written chapters and published them to AO3 without finishing the whole thing first. I love the creative process and every time I think of something that changes the whole story for the better, I get so happy. That happiness has been getting me through some super rough personal times.
I post most of my work, both finished and WIPs, on my bluesky along with reposting things that I feel are important for me to humble myself with and stay positive and real. But the character limit stops me from giving much context and I feel like I'm bursting to yell about Emera into the void so I'd like that void to be here. (Plus, Tumblr allows for better media quality)
