“what does passion feel like to you”
Passion is an odd topic for me because I’m at a place in my life that seems like everything I do isn’t impactful and what I see as passionate. I believe that it’s purposeful, it’s deliberate. Passion is something you can see within someone, a shining light of some sort. Lately, I’ve felt like my light hasn’t been as bright.
As someone who has been fascinated with all of the lights (shout out to Kanye West) of life, I’ve always found myself to take kindly to all opportunities and open to taking on challenges that come my way. Yet, this mindset is at the cost of not having a specific direction in life and growing insecurities of where my passion lies. I’ve always tried to harbor interest in a particular subject and maybe ignite a ferocious light into my being— needless to say, it hasn’t worked. Well, at least in the past year.
What’s coming up for me in the next year is something not many people get the opportunity to do and I feel like this will help me burn the strongest light of passion into my soul yet. Instead of the soft, gossamer, and eventually dimmed light that has been taking me through the turbulence of life, this light is different. It’s steadfast in its brightness and is meant for illuminating more than what can be seen ahead. For passion to be the light which one uses to trek into the uncertainty of the future, I will hope to burn a light that will ignite the light of others as well.
