this past year has been very tough, but has taught us so many lessons. we also learned to keep our family and friends close even though we can’t see them in person. i have hope that this year will be full of growth and love for ourselves and the people around us. ♥️🍾

VOGUE SIMS MET GALA 2020 @voguesims4
My look is an homage to the 1920s “Great Gatsby” era, which is hard to believe was already 100 years ago. I fell in love with the message of this ensemble as soon as it was presented to me.
My grandmother was born and grew up in the 1920’s, so I wanted to honor the fashion that she grew up around. My hair is done in the classic fashion of a 1920’s woman and my dress, by @mablystore, pays homage to the silhouette and colors of women of high stature in the 1920’s as well as the intricate details of flapper girls. My jewelry is representative of antique timepieces that my great-grandfather used to collect, and kept for my grandmother to pass down.
This was a time where women began exploring their interests, bodies, and personalities as they finally knew they had the freedom to do so. Having come a full century later, while facing a pandemic just like 100 years ago, I choose to pay homage to those who are on the medical and political frontlines, as well as the women who fought for their rights to be treated equally no matter their stature, attire, or profession.
What time in this sense means to me is to learn from and honor the people that came before us. in this case, it is the women who fought for equality, happiness, and their rights as human beings.
