60% thru book 3 of captive prince and now i am looking for crumbs of its fandom, and i keep seeing comments/posts saying "HOw can anyone read that book???"

AND I AM SO SHOCKED. AND STUNNED.

BECAUSE CAPRI IS LIKE THE MOST WELL WRITTEN TRILOGY IVE READ IN YEARS?????

like yes thee's slavery and it's very bdsm-y but OHMYGOD. the POLITICS. the war ?? the strategy?? the manipulation? the LACK OF LOOPHOLES. the whol book series is SO well thought out, so so perfectly done. its so smart. there's chess being played; moves after moves, each more lethal than the last.

You gain an ally? you've lost your reputation. you gained a fort? your ally gets killed. its an almost checkmate after almost checkmate. and when u start understanding that shi?? it gets s so so delicious. the author doesnt even have to Say anything to get so much of the story across. she writes 4 lines, and you get this dawning realisation of what is happening. It always hits you like a brick. the sheer genius of her writing, i am in so much awe.

And for a book about pet-play, fetish, slavery, the sex scenes are actually? not in that much detail? it actually gets so much more tame.

I think Captive Prince is a book that deserves to be read. Give it a chance. if u think it is a fetish book, you're wrong.

It's like 80% politics and war strategy. and the 20% of bdsm happens mostly in the start of book 1.

ALSO. Laurent's and Damen's chemistry is so fucking perfect. Laurent's constant expectation of being hurt and Damen only being in love with him.

The growth of both characters.

The way they show affection for each other. The seamless way they take over situations from each other, the trust between them, the conflict. oh my god it is literally one of the most tastiest things i have ever ever ever read.
