My Favourite Feelings as a Writer
When my characters write themselves
It doesnāt happen often, but when my characters seem to just say and do everything completely in character without me having to fight to make their dialouge sensicle and plot relevent, thatās honestly such a soothing feeling for a constantlty stressed writer
2. When it gets to my favourite chapter
Iām sure every author has spent days of their lives, daydreaming about future chapters they havenāt gotten around to writing yet. And there isnāt a better feeling then when that day finally comes. And that idea can become reality through words on a page.
3. When my character say something
Whether it be heartbreaking, beautiful, cruel or profound, I canāt help but give credit to the character rather than myself for the dialouge that appears on the page. Sometimes words on a page really mean more than you the things you can say with your lips.
4. When my writing makes me cry
Iāll be the first to admit that Iām a sucker for a good story, and sometimes, my own story is exactly what Iāve been looking for, that when I get a good idea, or I go back and read something Iāve written, I canāt help but shed a few tears at it. Whether itās the quality or the moment itself, sometimes it just gets to me.
5. When my characters fall in love
I love romance, and my novel is a romance, so excuse me if I get a little bit excited each time my characters and heading more and more in love. Never mind that I planned it they would be a match in every universe.
6. When my music times up perfectly
There are some very rare occassions when my playlist matches up with the mood or even has topical dialouge that syncs with what Iām writing and if that doesnāt feel like fate is telling me Iām on the right track, I donāt know what does
