Author's Notes: The chapter where Jude and Emil face-off over their father isn't coming yet, but I was dying to jot down dialogue between two livid, emotional brothers, to show their different personalities and how it isn't all gumdrops with them. ---------------------------- "I don't want it to be just ME anymore, Jude! I want you to have someone else! I've ALWAYS wanted you to have someone else! And if there's a chance for you to have that someone else, I'll take it!" "So. You're asking me to throw away everything you went through, all of your damn sacrifices, your fucking tears, for this damn family reunion?! Whaddya want, Emil, for us to join hands and sing campfire songs?!" "I want you to give him a chance, or at least the time of day, dammit! At least he came back!" "He shouldn't have LEFT! And you know it!" "You want everything to go away, just like that, huh?! Well, guess fuckin' what, Emil. We're not in one of your damn Disney movies! I'm not gonna forgive that bastard just because he shows up on our doorstep with a sob story! I'm not shitting on EVERYTHING you went through!"
A creature of flesh and blood had been transformed into something as fragile as paper, vulnerable to even the slightest attack. The one responsible for tearing him apart, for incinerating everything that had ever made him happy, was no more than a few inches away.
It was his father. Jude's father.
The older Icial felt as if his older self was gazing at him, pleading for a chance to breathe, even if only for a moment. Lex's likeness to his own son only served to make things worse: Emil felt as if every last one of his failures were staring at him dead in the eyes.
But Cal and Oren were there. They were right there.
"I think it's about time you told us what's going on," the older Wilfield growled, hands balled into fists. Cal held onto his gentle nature, but just barely, and only for Emil's sake. None too happy with the older one's appearance either, he was more than ready to back his brother's play.
Oren's voice was colder than the coldest side of the moon. "You've gotta be as full as a boot t' think we're gonna celebrate you bein' here with milk and cookies. Now c'mon, mate, fess up. Unless y'fancy losin' y' teeth."
Lex spoke, his voice heavy with years and years of sorrow. "I wish to speak with my children, nothing more," he said, shaking his head. "Emil...Emil says he won't talk to me unless Jude's by his side."
"How come?" Calum asked, peering into Emil's eyes. Emil grimaced as if his friend had just stabbed him, without a single warning.
"I want him here because...I don't...I'd rather not waste my time listening to him twice. And if Jude's not with me..."
The way Emil's eyes flashed sent off a hundred red flags. "I'm trying to forgive him," the older Icial growled, voice quivering, tears burning his eyes. "For Jude's sake. If I open my mouth for even just a second, without my brother here, I'll forget everything. Even myself."
"I take it you've been very good friends to my Emil," Lex said, redirecting his attention to the Wilfield Bros, even though every fiber of his being told him to focus on Emil, and only Emil. Jude would've been a part of his focus, but he was gone, without a trace.
"Thank you. You don't know how much that-"
"Don't call me that."
Lex only got out a syllable of his question before Emil leapt to his feet. In a mere moment, Jude's brother had their father by his throat, eyes engorged with violent, savage hatred, frustration, sadness-
"I said don't call me that! I'm not yours, and neither is Jude!"
Calum landed his hands on the brunette's shoulders, gently pulling him back. Emil released the older Icial, letting him fall to the ground with a thud. "It's because of you he's gone, you fucking prick," Emil snarled, seconds away from sobbing.
"It's because of you everything's been turned upside down. Don't shit on this chance I'm giving you to make things right."
Emil only had a pinch of active roleplay followers, so his follower count of 58 doesn't really matter anyways. Numbers don't matter to me period. But for those of you still following this blog, and thinking it's strictly for roleplaying: it's not. Not any more.
With only about 3 active roleplays for this muse, it felt unbearably silly to call this a roleplayer's blog. I've decided I'm no longer going to stress myself out hunting down roleplayers, especially since I've got a few dings against me as a roleplayer:
-I roleplay with OCs.
-I roleplay with GUY ocs. Most RPers flock to the cute, adorable girl characters.
-I don't write starters.
-None of my muses have parades of artwork, Emil included. Probably helps to know they aren't canon.
-I don't have fancy threads or pretty blog themes.
So no, this is no longer strictly for roleplaying. This is a writer's diary, where a writer works on her character, his stories and the roleplays she's been blessed with. :-)
