caps lb 24/7 road to the winter classic watch
hello caps lb! as i had posted way back in april, i'd like to rewatch hbo's road to the winter classic, capitals/penguins edition -- truly a foundational text in my caps fandom. some of you had expressed interest, so i wanted to get your thoughts on the best way to do this. i've never hosted a watchalong so i have no idea what works best!
i'm planning to do watch one episode per week. the series is 4 episodes, each an hour long, so 4 weeks in total. timing wise, i'm on us east coast so i can do most weekday nights and weekends. ideally starting this coming weekend/next week!
in terms of hosting, i looked up a couple of options:
discord???
https://www.watchparty.me/ ?
https://vdo.ninja/ ?
something else i'm not aware of?
if you've used any of these before and have a preference, let me know! we can also of course do a zoom or google meet or something but those have fewer options for anonymity which may be a concern for some. also having a chat feature would be nice as well!
looking forward to watching this together, especially if you haven't watched it before!! let me know your thoughts and hopefully i can get stuff together soon :D
tagging people who responded to the original post under the cut! but of course anyone who's interested can reply and join :)
okay i've found that discord is probably going to be the best way to do this! so we'll give that a try. here's a link to the server, feel free to join and i'll get timings sorted out after. i can't do this weekend anymore but maybe the evening in the coming week?
pov your future self time travels to tell you 'important information from the future'
The utter GLEE and willingness to choose violence that each of these men exhibits as soon as they pick up a tortilla, this team building exercise game was perfect, ten out of ten, no notes.

[Video description: Gritty is turning the crank on a flagpole to raise the Progress Pride Flag. He gesticulates angrily that the flag is not blowing in the wind, then gestures offscreen. The flag begins blowing. As Gritty begins raising the flag more, the camera pans out to show a man in a suit and sunglasses, looking like a stern Secret Service agent, is holding a leafblower that points at the flag. End description.]
Speaking of books it's been a while since I've seen one of these posts going around & I'm curious so everyone could you tell me what you are reading rn in the tags please
if you’re accused of raping a woman you can still make it to the stanley cup final.
coming back to my grad school town for the last time in a while…don’t know when i’ll be back…feeling Some Type of Way about it
Andrew Cristall using the diminutive form of Ilya in the comments of Ilya Protas' year end instagram post is making me feel something.
I am not an expert on Russian, but to my understanding (which is supported by these links) is that diminutives are personal and intimate* in a way that normal nicknames are not. https://www.russianlessons.net/vocabulary/russian_names.php

*I don't mean intimate in a romantic/sexual sense, just very close.
