Some people are very anti-Daisy but listen, this man sees her - like really SEES her - and told her “you make everything better”. Daisy has been ignored and undervalued all her life. She’s vied for attention, and though she got it a lot of the time, never in the way she wanted. No one, except Simone, cared about her as a person. Now this man comes in and he gets her because in a lot of ways they are the same. And he’s valuing HER - her work, her presence. “You make everything better” is not something she has EVER been told. So, yeah. She’s going to cheat with him. Even though Camila was nice to her, even though Camila got her in the band. She’s going to cheat with him. Is it right? No. But she feels seen and valued by a man for the first time (she’s not seeing past this into all the ways she’s being devalued) and she’s gonna take it. Another aspect of this I feel people are forgetting is that she’s an addict. People who suffer from addiction are not consequential thinkers - they yearn for instant gratification and tend to act selfishly. They want to feel better now, not later. Did she even think about having to see Camila again? Not until she was right in front of her at the photo shoot. They might as well live in different worlds. But does she sees the way Billy looks at her? Does she get to experience a closeness she’s never felt before? Yes, it’s right there in front of her. So she’s going to take it. Daisy is broken and flawed and emotionally stunted at this current point in her life. She’s not going to act mature or selflessly and quite frankly, there wouldn’t be much of a story if she did.
camilabilly vs daisybilly discourse actually surprised me at first because when i read the book i thought the point was that feelings are complicated and life is complicated and billy and camila could have a healthy loving relationship and billy and daisy could be insanely good matches for each other as well. and camilabilly were together and daisybilly werent and couldnt and it was just all very sad but its a logical ending. u dont get to love in concrete terms
New York City ballet production of Midsummer Nights Dream
The fact this isn't a painting is a testament to one of the greatest feats of set design and production I've ever seen.
My god just look at this! The lighting, set design, photography... I've just never seen anything like it.

idk if this is a contreversial take or not but i think that the ideal internet experience is being able to remove specific things (triggers, nsfw, gore) if you truly dont want to see them but overall being also shown things you aren’t interested in. i think one of my fave things about tumblr is seeing like 50% of my dash be about fandoms im not in, bands i dont like and quotes from books i dont want to read rather than this endless feedback loop of tiktok showing me ‘exactly what i want to see’ in a trap to keep me online as long as possible and blind to communities outside of my own. i want a mix of curating my own experience and a healthy dose of content i don’t already know i want to see, yknow?
capitalists will literally be like "it's cheaper to address homelessness by installing hostile architecture and hoping they all die rather than giving them a place to live" and bootlickers will be like "sounds good to me"
and studies will be like “No, it literally IS cheaper to give them a place to live” than do other shit” and bootlickers will be like “SOUNDS FAKE!”
More often they'll be like "BUT YOU CAN'T JUST GIVE THEM SOMETHING FOR FREE, THEY NEED TO DIE OF EXPOSURE LIKE RESPONSIBLE ADULTS"
The last one is it. You can show them the research demonstrating that it will be cheaper and they’ll say, literally HAVE said, that giving them something “before they earned it” is in some way immoral, that it’s somehow unfair or hurtful to people who have jobs, and that it will make people “lazier.” They genuinely think the threat of starvation and death is where work ethic comes from and that this is the glue holding civilization together. They also tend to convince themselves that people who are homeless often did something to deserve it, and therefore we must keep them punished until they fix their situation by themselves.
These are murderous, sadistic, obscene views to hold and the people who choose to hold them barely have any humanity.
methinks doth does protest too much ;) These two have such great chemistry and cheeky flawless natural banter whenever they’re together… Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch needs more projects as leads. It’s a bummer there’s no sequel to Netflix’s Set It Up….and their other Netflix Romcom Dangerous Games is delayed…
no like they are just plain outrageous.

GLEN POWELL as Charlie Young in SET IT UP (2018)
Easy, Maverick. Let’s try not to get fired on the first day. Top Gun: Maverick (2022) dir. Joseph Kosinski
one of the cutest scenes in Set It Up. and Charlie’s confused expression at Harper’s sudden need for pizza mid twirl is hilariously adorable. xD

“A Glen Powell thirst trap to tide you for your Friday.” indeed. looking dashing and dapper with great charming smiles in that all black snazzy suit on the Devotion premiere.
