Seattle is a nice place, though. At least your family picked a good place to settle down. I don't know what on earth was appealing to my mother about Assachusetts. They might believe it, and you can probably hack some sort of medical records and make it even more believable. You're a smart cookie. Most people in our little home talk too much. It's okay. Yelping as she was cast aside, Claudia couldn’t help but double over in laughter on the couch. She enjoyed a good scare, especially when someone else was on the receiving end of it. “That’s an interesting observation. It’s Nivea!” Her reply was chirpy and quite optimistic, well-aware of how irritating she could be. “You’re tripping. Well, that sounds like fun. Watching the clouds sounds like much more fun to me, though.” Gently, she poked Emily in the shoulder. “We could find a nice park or a hill to sit on.”

“Soft things feel good. I enjoy them.” Emily continued, her observation stated very matter-f-factly.  “It is fun. I don’t know why they call it tripping, because it doesn’t feel like tripping. Who names these things? They should get a pay cut.” Emily sighed lightly, her hands feeling the fabric of the sofa next. Soft. “Parks are nice. I like the grass. We should do that.” Emily sighed lightly, sounding mildly frustrated as she watched the patterns dance on the walls. “I wish you could see what I see.”

SAGITTARIUS: Are you kidding? I'm not letting either of you two near me with...whatever it is that you two are always messing around with.

EMILY: That "whatever" is science. I'm a biochemist who works at a children's hospital and only occasionally experiments with recreational drugs, so you should be fairly at ease in my hands.

EMILY: Interesting. I'm not a fan of cocaine. I like to utilize my recourses to delve into the depths of my mind, not run around like a chicken with my head cut off. LSD is fun, though. I think everyone should experience it at least once. I'm quite experienced, so I'll be a good companion for you. EMILY: I'm highly offended. I'll have you know that plenty of other people think I'm a very sweet girl, and are frequently on the receiving end of my compliments. So, I know how to compliment and you may occasionally be on the receiving end. Especially after the kind things you said about me a mere handful of texts ago. Understandable. I'd love to travel. I haven't done nearly as much as I should have, unless you count moving from Vegas to Boston to Seattle, which I don't. I'm not sure the brilliant doctors and scientists at the hospital would believe that you're five, but we'll give it the ol' college try. Don't say that. Now I have to view little Jonah as the competition. (Done and done. Any chance to see you in your little genius uniform.)

EMILY: Nah, I never need too much persuading to hang out with you minus a computer screen between us. It's one of my favorite activities.

ZAC: Who are you and what have you done with Emily? There are way too many compliments being thrown my way here. I'm aware. But if I'm vacationing, I'm leaving the country. ZAC: God, could you imagine me with a tan? Just picture that there. I'd look far more my ethnicity, but not myself. Honestly? I've always wanted to go to Iceland, Finland and Norway. And, yes, before you ask, that is purely for the Northern Lights experience. But Iceland has some incredible geography. Realistically? No. My lungs will not cry. I might. My lungs? Nope. Are you telling me I need fixing? Because I think I'm perfectly okay. Thank goodness I'm not the only one who doesn't get it. But, hey, if it makes someone feel good to be defined by sweat catchers, then power to them. That's the second time I've been called sweet this week. I don't know where it's come from. (I've already set them up for you on your computer, but I can do the same to your phone if you don't mind voiding the warranty?) You know, I decided that I wouldn't want to meet him. Because I think he's just that incredible and I'd have a complex for the rest of my life with how inferior I'd feel. You know, if I have some time I could make you a poison script mod. ZAC: My teaching style isn't structured, so you have no excuses anymore. You're knocking all of my interests today.

EMILY: I can imagine you with a tan, and you'd be equally as handsome, but decidedly not as you. Are you ware that you can experience the Northern lights on the East coast? They're actually quite lovely in Maine, or even Canada, if you're willing to make the trip. You'd just have to drive a few hours North. No need to go to Finland or Norway and leave me alone. Metaphorically, they absolutely will. You don't need any fixing. You're more than okay. Maybe you're having a sweet week. I don't know your life. Either way, you're sweet. Emily had a bit of an open door policy when it came to her space. It was pretty rare that the door was closed, and this particular night was no exception. Naturally, this could be a bit annoying her her roommates, especially given her odd hospital induced sleeping hours, and her affinity for loud music. Emily was having her usual Friday night, complete with music and a google search history strange enough that she’d have to remind Zac to clear her history. A little Friday night research never hurt anyone, right?

Emily hardly looked up from her computer as she heard someone in her doorway, switching to a mildly more conspicuous page (Facebook) than the poisonous chemicals she’d been looking at previously, more to make it appear as though she had some sort of social life than to hide her devious intentions.

“I hope you’re here to compliment my music taste, because I’m not turning it down.” She shot at the person in her doorway.

ZAC: They told me I should vacation in The Bahamas. Clearly they know me so well that they'd recommend a beachy place. Sand, Sea, Sun and Internetless is so my thing. They'll not cry. It'll be a simple little splutter, maybe a wheeze, then they'll give up. And I'm cool with that. Have been for years. Call it my rebellious phase that stuck. I'm glad we agree on something, at least. Sure, we can bracket my irritation to the Kardashians. Why speak out about issues with human trafficking / Domestic abuse / Adoption laws / Immigration laws, when you can talk about how on fleek your brows are? You are. You're a good friend. You're a strong, brilliant scientist. You're a brilliant mind. You're a fantastic, phenomenal woman. I could continue, but I'll save myself the embarrassment. (Banana Hammock it is. Or, you know, secure server IMs. Or other more private means. I'm good with any and all.) So you're saying you'd want nothing to do with Stephen Hawking? Do you drown your Sims? ZAC: I walk places? And I sit out and test myself on naming every constellation while I'm having a smoke? There. Two things without a screen. I'd really like to see one though. Like people getting up and demanding to be heard rather than just waiting. But, I'm not one to talk. Let's hope so. I know you now so I can't even ask you to challenge me to prove you wrong. I have my ways of hacking into secure networks from social media and finding out social security numbers, the lot. So, if I can do that. Other people can, too. The Sims? Seriously? Why would I want to play out someone else's life in ridiculous realistic detail?

There are too many threats for the people who want to get up and be heard. The only people that can safely speak on touchy subjects are the privileged people like me, who aren't always educated enough to talk about the important issues. That's a very good point. Yikes. I don't know. Why would you want to escape a rune?

ZAC: I'm not on the computer that much... Am I? I mean, minus the fact it's kind of my job. But, no. There aren't really any Pokémon premiers. I just do what everyone else does. Relax. Watch TV. Watch movies. Read. You never know, maybe there'll be some sort of revolution? It could happen. I don't like that people can find out things about you so easily. Give me a random person and I bet I could find out everything about them purely from social media. I haven't changed too much, I don't think? I used to play Runescape like crazy. And I used to drink Earl Grey tea.

ZAC: Everyone knows Mew and MewTwo, Emily! Come on. It's general knowledge.

EMILY: I don't know. It seems it to me, but maybe I'm just not paying you enough attention to realize that you do, in fact, do other things. A television is still a screen, and therefore it's hardly a break from the computer. I don't see a revolution happening any time soon. As you said, most people are more active on social media than at protests. But perhaps shortly after we die off, someone will get up and do something. Untrue. You could not find everything about me from social media. You had to do that the hard way. I'm more concerned with your taste in computer games than your taste in tea. Why not just play the sims like a normal, bored college student?
