She rolled her eyes.
“No, you’re supposed to say, ‘Get in loser we’re going shopping.’”
Emma returned the smile as she got into the front seat of the car. Used the her brother’s antics, she was able to react back to him with ease.
“Now, onto dinner, brother o’ mine!” She buckled up, then gestured to him to start driving.
“As you wish, sister o’ mine! ONWARD!” He made sure to drive as slowly as he could at first, inching just barely into the street before he really started driving for real for the restaurant.
He yawned as he pulled up to a stoplight. “So,” he said as he rubbed his eyes, “how was the movie?”
She squinted at him, then stared straight ahead as he started to drive faster.
"The movie? Oh, it was great. Kinda sad when the dog died, but I sorta expected it." She glanced at him, noting how tired he looked.
"So...how was school?"
