There! Problem solved! Be nice to everyone, no matter what they like. (Unless itâs Donald Trump they like. Then you can bash them all you want.) There isnât a need for this conflict, weâre all in the same fandom. And fandoms are family.
Heyhey @kxldwxn ! This your secret Santa here wishing you a Merry Christmas!! Hereâs your gift I reaaaaalllly hope you like it (itâs a fic!)!!!!!!!!! Also in the case you donât like it I can always try making something else
Hugh Apiston was a dreamer, thatâs for sure, always glancing through a window thinking what would it be like to be older and to have experienced everything there was to experience. Of course that all changed when he was brought to the loop. It wasnât sudden; there was bewilderment at first and a sense of belonging. But gradually as the same day dragged on and on repeating itself over and over he wanted something new, another thing to keep him dreaming. The loop was restraining him, he couldnât wonder, âWhatâs next?â because he knew every minute and every second of September 3, 1943. Until one day something new did arrive, someone new.
Fiona Frauenfeld unlike Hugh was not a dreamer. Reality was always right around the bend for her, ready to bare its ugly fangs. From the moment she was chased out of the village for âwitchcraftâ she knew whatever gift her mother told her she had was actually a curse.
Being chased out wasnât her fault, in fact there wasnât anything she had done wrong. The village had a drought  so she decided everyone could use something to eat; Since she had a gift why not use it to provide food? But she was wrong, everything was going fine until a village boy saw her talking and conjuring plants from the ground. He tattled to everyone in the town. Folks got angry and drove her out of the village even though all she wanted to do was help. Her father said sometimes her mouth got her into trouble, maybe it was time for her to keep shut.
Plants were Fionaâs only friend, they did not laugh with you one second and then at you the next. Plants had their own personalities yes, but they did not spite against her. Whenever she wished a certain friend to be there, they would; she had a soft spot for the iris flower for it meant hope. Hope that she would finally be accepted, hope that she could find love, hope that she would be free, but it was hope that never came. Iris were bittersweet for her, they were there as a lovely reminder for something Fiona wants but could never have.
Wandering alone, she followed a lovely peregrine falcon, a fleeting symbol of freedom and the last âhopeâ she had. Still hurt from the betrayal, hungry, and dehydrated, Fiona collapsed in a grassy field and wished only to see her friend the iris and the peregrine falcon one last time.
If Miss P said something, you follow, and thatâs exactly what Hugh and the rest did when she came in franticly demanding everyone to pack food or whatever supplements needed. It was frightening and everyone assumed hollows and wights had invaded. They packed their precious belongings (If you must know, Hugh packed a little bee badge his mother and his little sister made for him), food, water, and clothes. Lining up in front of Miss Peregrine, their eyes searched desperately for an answer as she began telling them to put away their belongings, excluding the food and water.
âBut why Miss P?â Came the small voice of Claire Densmore. âArenât we being invaded by wights and hollows?â
âWhy would you say that?â Questioned the ymbryne.
âWell you did sort of demand us to pack our belongings,â said Enoch OâConnor
âMy apologies,â Miss Peregrine chuckled and looked at the lot of peculiars in front of her, âbut we may have a new addition in our family.â
Everything seemed to have livened up after the new prospect of having another sibling. Hughâs dimmed out excitement began to liven up again. Finally, some new experiences for a change! Perhaps this was a person who was soft and sweet like Bronwyn or maybe intelligent and sarcastic like Millard? Whoever they are or whatever they are like he was sure that after years of repeated tradition he could be free to dream again.
Miss Peregrine slipped into her bird form and they began to follow her. Normally they wouldn't accompany her but this must have been special circumstances to risk everyone tagging along. Hugh looked at his supplies, they were honey, honey, and more honey. Everyone loves honey so he was sure the person would appreciate it (If they didn't he and his bees would eat it for them, no big deal).
Approaching their destination, Hugh noted it was filled with sunflowers and iris flowers. He coughed a little and Henry flew right out in front of him excitedly; the coughing fit ensued and soon a whole swarm of his beloved friends were flying about. Olive Elephanta whooped in delight and played with them (She loved his bees for they could fly like her as well), Bronwyn holding the rope attached to her, desperately trying to keep up with the smaller girl. Hugh took note that Miss Peregrine seemed to be worried; perhaps the peculiar had left? Who would want to leave this beautiful field of flowers?
Everyone was broke into groups & Olive and Bronwyn were with Hugh. They were all having fun until Olive gave a loud yelp.
"Miss P," Olive began tugging the rope which Bronwyn held to the ymbryne, "Miss P there's a girl lying down over there!"
In that moment everyone scrambled to the area where a girl laid. Hugh's mind began buzzing with thoughts. This mysterious femme was extremely attractive but was she okay? Her beautiful dark skin was littered with cuts and her lovely curly locks were matted and filled with dirt. Yet she was still beautiful, flowers of all kind surrounding her form, his bees settling on top of said flowers.
"It seems as if we've found her," Miss Peregrine exclaimed, "she will be needing everyone's assistance so let's all pitch in!"
Bronwyn gave Olive's rope to Emma and then proceeded to pick up the nameless girl. Horace gave her some articles of clothes to cover herself with (He said, and I quote, "She needs something better to wear than those hideous things"). Hugh stuck close to Bronwyn to further inspect the girl, she seemed malnourished and looked to have been wandering about for a few days. It was quite a wonder how she ended up in the field of flowers.
A few days had past since they brought the mysterious girl into their care. Miss Peregrine had been insistent she would wake up but it was beginning to look like a lost cause. The little ones have been keeping her healthy, Emma and Wyn had been changing her clothes (Under Horaceâs orders of course), and Hugh had been staring at her incessantly (To let everyone know when she woke up, duh). He was seated in his usual spot on the small wooden chair next to her bed, staring out the window, and drinking his honey drenched tea. It became part of his everyday routine and although he hated doing the same thing every day, he didnât mind watching this wonderful lady who seemed to fit comfortably in his life. He could get used to this routine even if she didnât wake up, but of course, she did.
Fiona woke up in an unusually soft surface, last she knew she passed out in an empty field. Groaning and standing up she found herself on a bed and in clothes she was certain were not the ones she was in previously. A gasp was heard to her side and she turned around and saw a handsome young man. He had a hat with some cute little goggles on his head and he seemed to wear a jumpsuit with overalls. His eyes were a light blue and he had quite a number of freckles on his face (they were almost as adorable as the man in front of her). A blush quickly formed on her face and she almost jumped when he started yelling.
âOh my God--â The brunette stuttered--âYouâre alive, oh my God, I mean awake, not alive. What am I saying? I need to.. I need to call Miss P! Oh my God, excuse me pretty lady, sorry- Oh my god!â
The strange man left her giggling as he ran out of the room only to emerge with an older woman a few minutes later.
âHello,â the woman in front of her smiled and said, âI am Miss Peregrine and this is one of my wards, Hugh Apiston.â
âH-hey!â Hugh gave an awkward lopsided grin and half heartedly waved. Fiona waved back and returned the smile.
âWell,â Miss Peregrine raised a brow and gently cleared her throat, âbefore we introduce you to the rest of the children I need to know your name.â
Fiona gestured for something to write on and something to write with and Hugh quickly fetched it. Her writing was in beautiful cursive.
âFiona Frauenfeld,â said Miss Peregrine, âit is a pleasure to meet you!â
Fiona gave a smile once more and a nod in return
âIâm sure youâre still recovering and I wonât overwhelm you so I will gather up the children to meet you one by one,â the ymbryne announced, âMr. Apiston may I ask that you take care of Ms. Frauenfeld for the mean time?â
âSure Miss. P!â said Hugh
Once Miss Peregrine left, Hugh and Fiona shared a look that would be one of the many they were going to have with each other, each one with more meaning than the others. After that day everyone got comfortable with Fiona being around; Hugh being the most comfortable. Their friendship would evolve into so much more than that, it would evolve into a relationship built on trust and love. Hugh Apiston was a dreamer but Fiona Frauenfeld brought him down from the clouds and into a world with her. Fiona Frauenfeld was a realist, but Hugh Apiston taught her that sometimes it was okay to dream and to wonder, âWhatâs next?â They leveled each other out and no matter what came at them they would always be ready. Ready for new dreams or harsh realities, ready for each other and ready for love.
What she means: okay but wtf was up with ransom just killing off fiona like she had so much potential and her and hugh were really adorable like she deserved so much better than being pushed off a cliff and she just could have lived and-
