I love pubs.
The last time I went home I found a copy of '50 Shades of Grey' on the coffee table. So I did what any sane person would have done and burned the house to the ground with my family inside.
Everybody was so happy at Hevy festival. Good times indeed.
Hevy festival was ridiculous. Almost as soon as we got there we bumped into some guys who turned out to be in Andrew WK's band, so as you can imagine - a lot of fun was to be had. Matthew and I kinda stuck with Erik all weekend, he's such a cool dude. Everyone got on with him so well and he had a lot of funny stories to tell. It was also pretty refreshing to meet a guy from a band that speaks highly of his girlfriend. Most guys I meet from bands that my boyfriend tours with are pretty disrespectful (to say the least) when it comes to the ladies, but Erik seemed pretty stoked to have his lady in his life which was fucking awesome. He wanted Matthew to be on stage while they played as he promised to play him some Slayer, but although we had AAA passes - they put a strict ban on people being on stage during the headline acts. However, I gained some drunken confidence and put on my best Orlando accent, pretended to be Erik's daughter and got 6 people onto the stage. It was rad. The whole weekend was awesome.
It's okay ladies, I know you're jealous. (Taken with instagram)
I have pacman nails.
I loved this day <3
Valentine's fun <3
Happy Birthday Matthew!
Matthew turned 24 recently so I threw him a surprise party and made a cake! I was so busy filming during the week leading up to it that I was getting up super early and making little pieces at a time, the picture is from the next day so the strings are broken and the icing is cracked but you get the idea. The guitar part of the cake is what I got him as a gift - a Tokai flying V that I had customised to be black and silver glitter. And the amp is Orange because that's who The JCQ are endorsed by. It was such a fun night and Matthew had no freakin' idea! Happy Birthday!
wow your going out with like the guitarist out of James Cleaver Quintet your so lucky haha all of my mates think the drummer really fit haha but your like the first famous person i have sent a message to
This made me chuckle.
Eastbourne
A lot of people ask me where I live and it's usually easiest to simply respond with "the south east of England." But to sum it up; most of my life has been spent around the London borough of Croydon. I was born in South Norwood, grew up in Addington Village, and my family currently resides in Selsdon. I then lived in Canterbury for two years and I now live in Eastbourne with my boyfriend, but still regularly stay in Croydon and Canterbury. So I'm pretty much between three counties at the moment - and I wouldn't have it any other way! I've quite enjoyed living in Eastbourne (for almost a year), however, it's incredibly difficuly getting used to the slow pace and absence of cultural variety. But then I go to the beach and all is forgiven!

It was my mama's 45th birthday on Thursday, so we threw her a surprise party on Friday. I MADE A CAKE! I'm quite pleased with the outcome, considering I baked and decorated it in all of three hours. I ended up using real roses as I couldn't find any artificial ones that were nice enough. The party was super fun, I got to see friends and relatives whom I don't get to see as often as I'd like to, and some I hadn't seen since I was a little girl. The bathroom got trashed and the house was a mess, but luckily my parents are cool as fuck and immediately saw the funny side. PARTY HARD.
I'm so close to finishing 'Ham on Rye' by Charles Bukowski. But I left it in Eastbourne and I'm currently in Croydon, boy do I become frustrated without my reading material. It's a great novel, if you're not offended by the word 'cunt' and the subject of masturbation and the like, that is. I thought it'd be difficult to read considering the extent of the brutal abuse and isolation he experienced early in his life, but I found that instead; it's hard to put down. And although it's surprisingly easy to read - it distills the substance and effect of his poetry perfectly. Though I've always had the greatest respect for Bukowski, it's always been a struggle to look past his obvious sexist attitude. But then I remind myself that the beauty of Bukowski is that he really does just hate people, and he's brutally honest about it. Something that should be celebrated, so SHUT UP FEMINISTS. I've treated you all to a video of another one of my favourite people, Tom Waits, reading some gloriously fine Bukowski.
Dear Santa,
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get me some black and leopard print creepers this Christmas. They're the ONLY thing I want, and to justify a fairly pricey gift - I will get SO much use out of them and they will be so much better for my health than the vintage pixie boots that usually adorn my feet, Aquarians must take care of their ankles after all... PLEASE?
But on a more serious note, I am SO excited for Christmas. I had such an awesome time last year with my family and Matthew, and I can't wait for that warm Christmas morning feeling again! I love Christmas!
I have black hair now. GRUNGER 4 LYF.
Nuthin' like simmering down to some West Side Chicago blues. What a pioneering figure Otis Rush was. If you dig this as much as I do, check out some Buddy Guy, Magic Sam and of course, my favourite; Chuck Berry.
GET ON DOWN.
Buh-bye Material Girl
I haven't posted for a while, so here goes. I haven't had a steady job since May, just been earning income from small ventures here and there. So, with all the free time I've had, this year has been some super fun! But I'm looking for work now, and also selling some of my designer accessories. I'm doing this slowly but surely! Then some time after Christmas I'll be selling my record collection to raise money for the St Wilfrid's hospice. So all in all, getting shot of my self-indulgent collection for a healthier and happier life. There's a sentence in the Kadampa prayer that has stuck with me since I read it: 'The Stages of the Path' which reads "Samsara's pleasures are deceptive, give no contentment, only torment." I love that. The first item I'm selling is a gorgeous Alexander McQueen skull ring. I absolutely adore it! However, I've never even taken the tags off let alone worn it. Somebody out there will appreciate it a lot more than I ever could, and it's on sale just in time for Christmas -
GET BIDDING, FOLKS!
