What Motivates Me
Motivation. We all know it, but not many of us know how to utilize it. Since my last blog about weight loss, Iāve gotten a question that I am more than happy answering. That question is how I stay motivated.
Itās taken me so long to figure out what keeps me motivated. It started out being the fact that I wanted to look āsexyā in terms of society labels. It went on to wanting to fit into clothes better. I changed the reason so many times but it never stuck. Why? Because they were all the wrong reasons.
When you start something you want to feel accomplished about, you canāt do it just because you want to. Thereās always a reason behind it. With weight loss, people try using āthinspirationā. These pictures tend to look like this:
Thigh gaps and ribs showing...Thatās not healthy. Thatās what most of thinspiration is. You get told that looking like a skeleton is beautiful while having curves is repulsive.
Iām getting off track here. The main point of this is motivation, and whatās mine? Iām going to show you this picture, because this picture is my motivation
This here is me for the month of December. The reason why this is my motivation is because I donāt want this to be my body anymore. I want to feel great in my own skin. I want to be able to wear a bikini without fat spilling out the sides. I want to feel healthy. I have a skin condition that also gets worse when I sweat and move a lot. By losing weight, I can eliminate most of the pain it causes me.
Ultimately, your motivation should be for you. Not anyone else. Thatās where most people go wrong. To stay motivated, keep your mind on YOU.

Diet Crazes Donāt Work!
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā 298...That number right there is the highest Iāve ever been.
I guess I should explain what Iām talking about. 298 is the highest weight point in my life. Last year is when I reached that point. Iāve lost weight since then but it still haunts me. I donāt know how I could let my body get to that state.
Iāve always been an overweight human being. Even when I was younger. Whenever I wanted food, I was given it. My little child mind didnāt know the word ānoā when it came to food. This is my before picture.
I believe it was 7th grade when it really got to me. I would always try and exercise profusely or just not eat. I knew it wasnāt healthy, but I wanted to be liked. I didnāt have that many friends. Nobody liked how I looked. I guess you could say I was the poster child for bullying.
Recently Iāve tried to get into healthy habits. Eating right and exercising. Thatās how Iāve lost the weight Iāve lost this year. Somehow, it still isnāt enough. In my mind, Iām still fat. My clothes never fit me right and Iām always looking down at the blob that is my stomach.
Thatās not what I wanted this article to be about, however. I just figured a little backstory would be good for it. This article is going to be about my journey through the years of my weight loss.
Iāve tried it all, believe me. All the diet fads you see nowadays donāt do much for you once you stop them. You gain the weight back quicker than you lost it. The best way Iāve found is to just watch what you eat and maintain an active life. Whether that be taking random walks or moving in some sort of way.
Thatās what everyone says, right?
āJust exercise and eat right.ā
Well, I hate to break it to you, but thatās how you have to do it. Going on certain diets and using weight loss supplements only work for so long. Eventually your body will become immune to it all. I like to go by one specific statement when I think of being healthy and losing weight:
You are what you eat.
This statement has rang true so many countless times for me. Thatās why itās taken me so long to actually start losing weight. I used to try every diet craze out there and nothing was working. Once I started watching what I ate and walking more, the weight just fell off. Above is where you can see me now.
I guess the point Iām trying to make is that so many people want to lose weight quickly. All that ends up getting them is feeling miserable and a lot of excess skin. Take my advice, if you want to lose weight, do it the right way. Itāll pay off so much more in the end.
Post Malone: A Different Kind of Artist
While my taste in music varies, I do often find my most listened to artists hailing from Indie Rock. So when I found myself becoming particularly interested in Post Maloneās music, it was quite a change in scenery. Now, like I said, my music tastes vary. Iāll listen to pretty much anything that doesnāt give me a headache. However, finding modern Rap artists who cut it for me is pretty hard. Iām a Rap snob, Iāll admit. It takes a special kind of Rap artist for me to become intrigued in their work.
