As they are also working on a TTRPG and the Player's Handbook will be released this year, this will be on my list of topics. I will also talk about Star Heist, the RPG campaign set in the Exodus universe (with Mr James Ohlen as DM!).

You can see the extended gameplay, have a few answers and also Helium Sea and Chronicles of Melayu.

I think the most important update is about the character creator and, to make sure I'm not doing any interpretation, I'll copy here:

"Our customization feature set is focused on curated options rather than a full slider-based character creator. This means Jun will have a more established look, with options including hairstyles, facial hair, hair color, eye color, makeup, and tattoos"

Which means, we will be able to tweak the appearance but not in depth. Personally, it's not something that bother's me a lot*. But I know it has been debated at large on the Discord.

Feel free to join, on X, on Discord and Reddit, they're taking questions and posting answers regularly. We have lots of very fun people to chat with.

*edit: i posted this last night and re-reading it, it seems I discarded the announce of the "not in depth" Character Creation. Sorry 'bout that, I posted quickly 'cause I had something else on the burner!

To articulate more my own reaction. At my age I played far too often game with no representation, not even being able to play a girl, that I started to just ignore it. I learned to love game, even though I had to play a very muscular guy or a slim blondy girl (when available). So, I guess, I am not expecting anything anymore. If there's a CC that's cool. if there's not, well, too bad. But, when Exodus was announced, a full CC was also considered or, at least, that's what a major part of the fandom heard, understood and was expecting. Now, we have this : Jun is set with minor modification available. Beside the fact it is a disappointment for the people who love investing hours in their character creation, there's the whole representation. Once again, keep in mind, people were expecting to be able to make their character. So now they're told they will be stuck with one appearance and minor tweak. I have to admit as well I don't understand the choice. Many games offer this possibility. I am scratching my head as why they felt they couldn't go this road, knowing people were expecting it, were speaking about it, where already planning how their characters would look. I hope it's link to something really important inside the game, some story wise part. But it better be important. Because I know a lot of people have been disappointed. To come back to me: I am still very interested in the game, very invested. BUT I understand all those who feel let down.

Some fine drabble for the month of Jun(e)

Someone on the Exodus Official Discord had the guts I lack and wrote a beautiful drabble.

It features the character that motivate me to discover more about the game and the one I have ALL intentions to romance (if he lets me, of course) : aka Tom Vargas.

M100: A Grand Design - June 6th, 1998.

"Majestic on a truly cosmic scale, M100 is appropriately known as a Grand Design spiral galaxy. A large galaxy of over 100 billion or so stars with well defined spiral arms, it is similar to our own Milky Way. One of the brightest members of the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies, M100 (alias NGC 4321) is 56 million light-years distant in the spring constellation of Coma Berenices. This Hubble Space Telescope image of the central region of M100 was made in 1993 with the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2. It reveals the bright blue star clusters and intricate winding dust lanes, which are hallmarks of this class of galaxies. Studies of stars in M100 have played an important role in determining the size and age of the Universe."

Drabble for the month of Jun(e)

While I am still fighting on multiple front for my writing, TeawithDragons on AO3 has written two very good drabble for the Jun(e) event.

I'll also encourage you to go read the series : Exodus Betrayal. Very good intensity in the characters, the stakes are high and the tension is palpable.

and answers some questions asked after the Extended Gameplay, here is a link towards the Discord Post where Chad Roberston himself answered.

Of course, don't expect to have a precise date for the Game, or how many DLC we're going to have.

It's more a series of hints and clues about various aspect of the game (silicates anyone?)

Still I like the fact he took some time to answers and some tidbits about Houston.

Also we know that they planned for other events and publications 'till next year. So, stay tuned! We got more things coming!

One of the (many) moments I really loved...

in this extended gameplay.

Not only do we learn more about this artifact, or more precisely, have confirmation it comes from his father (Orion Aslan), but we see some pretty awesome moment.

I am very curious of the lore about this power. Even Phaedra seems in awe.

And then, in the extended gameplay, we see this AWESOME lance. Truly I love it (although I see the charge time seems long).

The constellation of Lupus, the Wolf // E. Slawik/NOIRLab/NSF/AURA/M. Zamani

Lupus, which is Latin for "wolf," is one of the original 48 constellations set down by Greek astronomer Ptolemy in the 2nd century. To the ancient Greeks, this wolf was associated with Centaurus, who killed it and is preparing to sacrifice it on the nearby altar, Ara.

However, it was usually just a generic animal. The connection to a wolf was likely inspired by the Babylonian figure called the "Mad Dog," a hybrid creature that had the head and body of a man with the legs and tail of a lion.

There's only one named star in Lupus:

Uridim (α Lupi), a blue giant star about 460 light years away. Its name comes from the Sumerian name for the constellation of Lupus, written Uridimmu in Akkadian, meaning "mad dog."
