First time mum here 🙋♀️
And I’m gonna say it, but my child is not even going to know what a deep fried bloody mars bar is until she’s way older.
Little toddlers don’t need deep fried chocolates, or fizzy drinks, or any of that bullshit. And that’s going to come down on me. I’m the one feeding the child, so fruit and wholesome foods is what she’s going to get until she’s big enough to make it herself - or it’s a special occasion.
I’m sorry that I’d rather take the time to take my child outside to go nuts on a plum while I hang some washing, then to go feeding them absolute bullshit.
Teach them to appreciate natural sugars and flavours from early on, they have the rest of their lives for all the rest of that artificial stuff. If I do this now, then at five years old maybe she’ll actually appreciate her fruit and veggies, they won’t be flavourless garbage in her mind.
Especially in today’s age, with today’s information - why would you want to set your kid up for failure?
It’s not that hard people!
Give them a carrot (or cut them into sticks), an apple, some strawberries - LET THEM EXPERIENCE THE BRIGHT COLOURS. Leave some left over pasta in the fridge for their lunch, fill your fruit bowl up, and start them young - because if you do, that’s all they’ll know.
