guys I know we act like holland is the dog of the relationship and that’s all well and good

but I stand firmly by the fact that it is Healy who is the dog out of the two of them. walk with me.

from both a sexual and non sexual standpoint, it’s gonna be Healy who gets the most satisfaction out of being the “dog”. He says it himself, he wants to feel useful.

What better way to be useful than to be a loyal guard dog (callback iykyk)? To be the one who has March’s back when a case goes south? To be the one who provides, always pulling out his wallet first? To be the one who keeps his unlikely little family safe?

What better way to feel useful than to follow orders and submit? Not that Jackson Healy would ever be submissive, not really. He wouldn’t submit like the family Labrador, belly up and wagging his tail. But if March ever gave him an order? Who is he to refuse? It’s unthinkable, not doing what he is asked if it’s March. He wants to feel useful. And oh, does March get quite a bit of use out of him.

god smut is so hard to write.

first you gotta do the build up and then the actual fucking and the fucking is pretty easy but you never know how long the fucking should last, and eventually you're like "okay I'm tired of this" so the characters cum, but you're not done yet because you can't just end it at "he fucking nutted everywhere" you gotta keep going, and the characters have to chat a little or cry or think about how horrible they are or something and then you kinda don't know when to end that either so now you're 2k words in and you might have put too much self hatred and not enough sucking dick. so you wrap it up, and think well it's done now.

or sometimes you have it all perfect in your mind and you knock the whole thing out in 2 to 3 hours.
